Dang Gary!....you cooked that Brisket to perfection it looks absolutely fantastic. Thanks for sharing. You and the family have a wonderful rest of the week and stay safe out there. Cheers!
Thanks brother! Yea this one was a keeper for sure! Lots of leftovers in the freezer! People always ask me how I afford all the food but it’s so much cheaper to do it yourself and we always have great leftovers to thaw out. I’ve saved a ton cooking for ourselves and it’s delicious!
You're brisket looks delicious!!
cheers from Canada!👍
It was Doug! Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Love the easy tips. Will be trying this definitely next brisket.
This was a fun one. Thanks!
Enjoyed this video. Nicely done!
Thanks Enrique. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Great brisket! Really good for us newbies. My only critique is the background music is too loud, the music overpowers your narrative! I would love to see this video again without the background music.
Hey thanks Bruce for the kind words and feedback. As I have struggled to learn the editing process many of my videos have suffered with poor quality. I’m much better these days and when I look back on some of those I cringe. I’ll try to find a way to edit that but I doubt it. It was indeed a great brisket though. Check out Jeremy over at Mad Science Barbecue. He has some of the best brisket vids out there. Thanks again and have a great Independence Day!
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 Wow, thanks for replying, I appreciate it. My ears are not great, so I wasn’t able to pick up all you said, but I learned a lot just by watching!
Thanks again, Happy Independence to you and yours too!
I would say a big success Gary! Not only a great price for this Brisket, but she cooked very quickly! Looked delicious on the board! Did you like the whisky barrel chunks? I really like the restaurant pans you used in your kitchen. Delicious video bud! Take care!!
Hey thanks Rob. Well I have to say the smoke flavor was good for sure. Didn’t pick up any whisky flavor but I seasoned this guy pretty well. Whatever the combo was it was delicious! Duke would enjoy a piece too lol. Thanks for watching and the support!
Great looking brisket. I really enjoyed that brisket cook. I just subbed to your channel
Hey thanks for taking the time to watch! I love brisket. Just wish I could cook it the same way twice lol. Seems I’m always experimenting! Have a great weekend!
Wooohweee! You nailed that brisket bro. Looked amazing. I just love smoking brisket. So delicious and so much fun to cook. Great work Gary
Thanks Jason I love me some brisket! Have a great week!
You have some great outdoor cookers and grills in the usa...
Mine is just a basic grill...
Lovely piece of beef you have there ......
I always think the key to great bbq is the seasoning and you have used some real tasty ones there...
It came out so beautifully tender....
Mmmm...
Catchya again soon...👍
Thanks for watching Margaret. Yes we are fortunate to have a nice grill selection but you can do a lot with a basic grill. I did a six hour pulled beef cook on a regular Weber kettle last week and will put up the video in a couple weeks just to show how versatile they are. Cheers and have a great week!
Great looking brisket Gary, nice smoke ring, tender and juicy! The WSM is a really awesome cooker for so many things, brisket definitely one. Heard good things about the jealous devil lump. Awesome job brother and hope y’all have a great weekend!
Thanks Charley! Yea I love that thing and don’t use it enough. I have four cookers going right now and am not filming any of them. Feels good for a change lol. Have a great week!
Beautiful brisket Gary. Nice easy walk thru and how to 🤘🤘
Great job Bud
Thanks Lee. Have a great week!
Now I gotta break out my WSM again. That brisket looks beautiful! Juicy, tender and a nice smoke ring. I see 10, 12+ hour brisket cooks but mine seem to always only take 7 to 8+ and they come out great! I suppose at 300 degrees, a 6ish hour cook is about spot on for time. Nice cook Gary and I hope you have a Great Week!
Thanks Keven Yea this thing gets neglected way too much. I have been seeing more and more hot and fast brisket cooks that come out good so why not. Have a great week!
Great looking brisket Gary! Looked like a perfect cook! Enjoy the rest of this holiday weekend! Cheers!
Thanks Craig this one was a keeper! Leftovers were delicious and plenty in the freezer for chili! Thanks for the support and have a great week!
Great cook Gary! Mighty fine looking brisket👍How do you like that jealous devil charcoal? Looked like some nice sized chunks...thanks for sharing, have a great weekend brother, you all stay safe!👍👊🍻
Thanks Craig! I love the jealous devil. It burns hot and lasts a long time. I wish I had used the snake method for this though to keep the temp down bit it didn’t seem to matter. Cooked in six hours and came out perfect. Have a great weekend!
Dang Gary wish I could get a Brisket hard to fine and pretty pricey if I do get one. That's a might fine looking Brisket there a great color and nice Smoke Ring great content as always. Thanks for sharing, you and the family have a great weekend and stay safe. Cheers!
Yea I know it’s hard to find in some parts of the world. Chuck roast can be a substitute. Sort of lol.
That brisket looks absolutely amazing! I'm on my way with a plate in hand😂...lol. Great cook! I love smoking briskets. It's a long cook but well worth the time and wait! Thank you for sharing! Stay safe!
Thanks for stopping by. I love these things but my freezer is getting full so head over! Have a great week!
Looks awesome Gary!
Hey thanks Tom. First time on my WSM and I was really happy!
Bloody ripper mate 👍👍👍
Thanks Luke. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Beautiful brisket GT ! I have a question, Who is this Lewis or Louis guy you are mentioning? ....lol ! Great job Gary !
He is my trans gender cousin. I love him and we should all respect his journey. 🥃
OMG, that’s the last response I expected ! Yes , I will respect his journey!!!
Lol
WHAT did you say........can't hear you for the loud music in the foreground?
Gene I appreciate your feedback. Trying to teach myself to edit has been a long process. When I look back at some of those old videos I cringe. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I just retired a month ago and hope to have a much higher quality product.
Very juicy looking brisket. Do you think the lump charcoal and how hot it’s been here played into your pit temps? Gonna diva brisket soon - do you recommend seasoning and let it render over night ?
Yes I made a couple errors. I would snake it next time and probably use more charcoal but I really like that lump. Just do a blend and don’t light so much at once. I’ve heard seasoning too long before can dry it out but this one was perfect. I guess if you have time do it an hour or so before but I usually don’t want to get up at 4 lol.
Looks amazing!
Thanks Casey. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
That looks great!
Thanks Aaron! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch! Have a great week!
Hey at 6:04 when you added in the coal, where did you heat it up? Looking to smoke a brisket for the first time so sorry if it's a dumb question lol. Is there a separate appliance I need to buy in order to heat the charcoal?
Not a dumb question at all! It’s called a charcoal chimney starter and you can find them at most anyplace that sells charcoal. You don’t necessarily need one you can just put a starter like a Weber cube or a tumbleweed which I prefer under the coals and light it. The chimney just makes it faster. Good luck on your brisket cook and thanks for taking the time to watch!
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 Okay, thank you so much! If I use the tumbleweed to start which lighter would you suggest I buy? Is there any specific temp ones? Also, what do use to regulate the brisket temp so you know when its done>?
Lol now you are making fun of me. Use any remote thermometer and follow the advice of hundreds of videos. Keep the heat at 250 to 275 and add fuel as needed. Wrap at the proper.color and bark with butcher paper or foil and cook till probe feels like peanut butter. Let me know how it goes.
If this is a how to, then what temp was your smoker? What temp was the brisket when you wrapped it?
Hi Jim good questions. I generally keep all my smoker’s around 250 to 275 for brisket. When the bark is set and the fat is rendering properly I wrap. The temp is usually around 170.
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 thank you.
Good job Gary.
Thanks brother. Appreciate the support. Have a great week!
What do you think about using the fire dial for brisket? Haven’t seen any videos on that yet from anyone.
I don’t think I’ve seen a brisket cook specifically with a fire dial. I’ve been meaning to get one since it came out a couple years ago but probably wouldn’t use it much. I like the way my WSM does brisket as it is. Looks like a great product though. A channel named Phil in Florence (RIP) did some cooks with those a while back. I don’t remember brisket but he showed it being used if you want to check it out. Thanks for taking the time to watch!
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 great channel by the way I’m going to stick with the traditional WSM water bowl method for my 8 pound 70 dollar brisket for now . Too expensive for trial and error lol
Whoa must be wagyu! I so want to try one of those!
Looks grate!
Thanks Wookie. May the brisket be with you! I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
He gives it a 'little spritz' of something from a spray bottle at 7:42....what's in that bottle?
lol can’t remember but likely 50 50 water and apple cider vinegar.
Nice brisket
Thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Hi you don’t put water in the pan?
That is a great observation! I have always used my water pan and wanted to see if it made a difference. I couldn’t see any negative effects but why not use it. I will from now on. I’ve also heard of people filling it with sand so it acts like a heat sync. I may try that sometime just to see. Thanks for taking the time to watch and I’d recommend the water.
Enjoyed video but music was annoying
Al thanks for the feedback. As I’ve tried to teach myself how to edit over the years I cringe when I look back at some of my videos. I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
The background music makes it hard to understand what you`re saying, man! Too loud!
Yea Mike I have definitely struggled with learning to edit. I was always trying new things and screwed up often. I’m much better these days but when I go back and look at some of my older stuff I cringe. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 Still, a good video, and good looking brisket. I`m thinking about buying me a Weber Smokey Mountain, and I just wanted some pointers. Thanks.
You bet. Check out Craigslist. I see them all the time! Have a great week.
I’d get the 22
This is the male equivalent of women's make up videos
Lol well Tess I’m not sure how to take that but I really appreciate you taking the time to watch! Have a great week.
@@gtsbarbecueandcuisine4837 great vid!
I didn’t like those barrel chunks
Yeah I’ve gone back to cherry wood. Thanks for taking the time to watch!
Nope.
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
