I bet this technology could be used to make pulse detonation engines practical. You could inject fuel into the tube and use the diacrode to detonate it generating a shockwave and producing thrust repeated at a moduled interval to make a plane fly. Think of it like digitally modulated jet thrust you could program the shockwave pattern you want that would make a plane fly efficiently at any given altitude. It would be like going from carburetors to EFI where the cars worked much more efficiently and were generally easier to live with. I think a more descript name for this engine would be the Microwave Detonation Engine.
