Not a scam. Your comment is ridiculous. Airlines have rules for a purpose. And since all airlines don’t have the same rules, it makes more sense to to know them before you go.
Like A LOT of those videos about airlines and travelling, it is not specified if this information is for the US airlines or European or any other part of the world. The world is not only the US. If your video is only for americans with information only related to them, thenit should be clearly specified in your videos. Right now, we don't know if those carry-on dimensions are only for US airlines, or include Canadian airlines, or also for other international airlines.
While this says 56 x 40 x 23 cm (which is 22 x 15.75 x 9 inches), I checked with several airlines that I will fly this year, and they say 56 x 36 x 23 (or 22 x 14 x 9 inches). So, you still need to check with your specific airline. I'm going to guess that no airline will allow one larger than the measurements given, but there are airlines that will require it to be even smaller than that.
What about a bag that’s 21.5x9.5x14.5? I get so frustrated by this. That’s a 20 in carryon I have. Why call it 20 inch if it’s 21 inches and why make it an extra half inch on the width and depth if that’s not the standard for majority of airlines consider that’s been the standard forever.
I remember the old days no: no carry-on luggage, check bags for free. Off & on the plane in five minutes! Airlines should be required to check two bags per ticket for free. Minimal charge for any additional. Airlines should also board passengers sensibly: start at the back and work forward. Deplane: start at the front and work backwards. Sick of phony-baloney, preferential treatments by the airlines and needy passengers who expect the same.
One kid with 4-5 adults, one person in wheelchairs sometimes they can even walk with 4-5 family members, big healthy military are all first in line. They all have big carry on bags except the baby. Unbelievable during boarding. BC passengers with full pay have to stay 3rd or 4th in line.
Incorrect information regarding dimensions of cabin bags. The universally-accepted size is 56 x 36 x 23 cm (22 x 14 x 9 inches), NOT the larger size stated in the video!
Luggage manufacturers often don't count the wheels and handles when giving the dimensions. This is erroneous information, beyond misleading. Airlines count everything. Take a tape measure when buying. Many "carry-ons" are NOT.
I really don’t understand why anyone would ever have a problem with not wanting the plane to be overweight. It might even be helpful to weigh the passengers.
Wake up. The weight is the same as it has always been (airplanes are decades old, remember?) But they "discovered" that they are making more money limiting your luggage and transporting more cargo. It has nothing to do with safety.
They must have a deal with the luggage makers! Also, this is just a money grab. I just put two people on a flight. one bag would've cost them $100 to check-in. We opened the bag, took out some items, moved it to another bag and the carry-ons,. The plane still had the SAME WEIGHT to carry, but had we not done this, the airline would've gouged them for $100! The airlines are now just looking to try and close any gaps to make up the fees that they lost in the latest FAA rulings. It's NOT about safety or comfort, it's just greed and avarice. The airlines made several BILLION in fees last year alone.
True. Last year I had an overweight bag. I simply opened it and shoved some items in my carry on. I still had all my items, just distributed differently.
For those puzzled by Watt/hr ratings when your battery is rated in mA/hr.... 10,000 ma/hr = 10 A/hr Watts=Amps x Voltage So assuming a standard 5 volt power bank, your 10,000 ma/hr battery is 50 Watt/hr.
It's good they do this with bags! As an international traveller it's only in US they let people on with too big bags! In Europe it's one carry on basically not 2. And everyone can then get their carry-on in the overhead bins. Don't know if one check in luggage is still included, it was before.
Sometimes they will ask you to check a compliant bag if it’s a smaller plane and your bag won’t fit under the seat. I was asked to check such a bag that only contained my meds, essentials for a my next leg an overseas long haul flight. No sky check and they could only check it through to my final destination. Took a lot of help from ground supervisor to get my bag on board. Stressful to say the keast
Here is the main conclusion of these new “rules”… the airlines are trying to make travel evermore confusing and a pain in the butt. Added to their capriciousness is an ever deepening greed. Maybe the mandate should be all inclusive fares instead of these poor boy tickets with infinite add ons.
The wait limits are a joke! Why is the passenger’s weight not taken into consideration? What is the difference between a 120 lb woman with a luggage that is 20 lb overweight limit and a 300 lb. Man with no luggage? Who should pay for the additional weight the airplane needs to carry?
Of course they have passenger weights. They use average weights for all types of passengers. The manifest shows sex etc and the average was raised some years ago. It cannot fly without these figures.
Absolutely if somebody is 250 or 300 pounds they need to have two seat seats next to each other. They should be paying for two seats because you’re not gonna tell me both cheeks are gonna fit in one seat. Hell no!
I once spent a 6 hour flight with the passenger beside me taking up one third of my seat, pressing hard against me from knee to shoulder. People should round up when purchasing the number of seats they need.
The Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) 3-1-1 rule limits the amount of liquids, gels, and aerosols passengers can bring in carry-on bags. The rule stands for 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) per container, in a single quart-sized, clear, zip-top bag, with one bag allowed per passenger. The 3-1-1 rule applies to items like shampoo, toothpaste, and lotion.
Just a footnote: carry on luggage with wheels will be rejected. The bag itself may conform to the size required. However, the wheels extend the length of the luggage and therefore invalid!
For American Airlines, the size of a carry on is supposed to be no more than 22 x 14 x 9. What if my bag that is actually meant to be a carry on is 20 x 13 x 9.5? That .5 is what scares me! It makes me wonder if it will fit properly. I closed the zipper on the expandable part of it but I'm sure the size mentioned on Amazon when I bought it is with no expansion. I took my extra outfit out and barely fit it into my personal item bag just in case. If I found out it's fine, I will probably put it back into my carry on when I get to the airport hotel of my second airport. I leave in less than 2 days for my trip!
45 linear inches is what the max allowed (add up the 3 dimensions height, width and length) - so your bag “should be” fine (as you pointed out specific airlines can be pickier at times)
Did you know that Gate Agents get bonus pay for rejection of passenger carry on? Yes, it's true!!😮 I have also heard of passengers "paying off" these agents to allow them to carry these on, I believe they are paid $10 per rejected bag, even when the carry-on was permissible! Something is wrong here folks, know your rights! Print out the DOT regulations, which have been updated to protect passengers.
Is the restriction of carry-on weight UNIVERSAL as well? I don’t mean just your carry-on luggage, also the personal items. I often travel with my iPad Pro, which is heavy, would that be considered as an electronic “conversation” with the check-in staff?
Check in not a big problem for us But it's driving us crazy especially the screeners that discourages us to even travel. The chaotic boarding, passengers inside the plane with huge and a lot of carry on bags and the bad service even sometimes in Business class are also discouraging issues. Too much rules and always changing. Airline and different airport websites are not all up to date, so it's hard to check. Just buy the cheapest and the simplest bags not to many extras and don't bring too many gadgets. Just sleep during the flight.
I really appreciate your efforts! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Why are you directing this at flight attendants. They're just trying to make it all fit. Ticket counter and gate agents are charged with deciding what gets on the plane.
Luggage have limit on the size of carry on you got . I have all the priorities from TSA group military ID and handicapped. If I have hard time you bet I speak to the big one In the suit done deal once they see my boarding pass .
I have to agree with this size, its 22 x 14 x 9, mine fits! Thats all I care about! I see passengers trying to fit their fat case and body in a fitted space. Lose the fat!
Airlines are businesses, they can do what they want. They don't OWE you anything. The only time they're being "sneaky" is if they slap things on you that aren't listed on websites. If people don't like their fees then buy your wardrobe when you get there and donate everything on your way out - see how that compares to baggage fees. (We did that one time we went to Vegas. Even bought the luggage at Wal-Mart or something down there.) The one thing I appreciate is the standardization. I knew the limits were going to come when people started bringing bags that I use for 3 week holidays into the cabin so I was expecting it. It's just nice to have it right across the board. I'm looking forward to the productions at passenger's lounges.

Rubbish - i have said for years that the biggest dust collectors at airports are those "things" that are supposed to measure the size of carry-on bags. No one ever uses them, and carry on size is not enforced. Hence, people bring on bags that should be in the hold, and NO flight crew says anything 🙄
I was called out of the boarding line while in Charles de Gaulle airport last year to have my bag sized. No, the extra charges ensure cheaters pay for hugely overweight luggage and who hide things to scam the airline... overweight can cause catastrophes.
