  • Checking #scanner from TopDon - an universal diagnostic scanner for OBD2 equipped vehicles. To try it out I used two vehicles: Volkswagen Golf MK7 2.0TDI and Fiat Grande Punto 1.3, checked how the device reads and clears faults from ECU, how much information I can get from live data, how fast is the live graph mode, and other general features of the device.

Why is you map sensor Kpa over 100? It should be between 30-40 kpa

Diesel engine = no throttle body

@@mrfixpl are you sure mate? Every car since the last two decades have throttle body and inlet manifold

      As far as I know:
Petrol cars have throttle body because engine is controlled by quantity of the fuel-air mixture. Throttle body closes and open to control RPM, air/fuel ratio stays the same (most of the time, to simplify).
Diesel cars don't have throttle body, because engine is controlled by quality of the mixture. RPM is controlled by how much fuel is added to the mixture, air/fuel ratio is changed based on the RPM demand.
At idle diesel will show intake pressure close to atmospheric pressure. If there's a throttle body in diesel engine, it's for variable intake (some kind of swirl flaps or intercooler bypass in HDI engines) or it's a shutoff valve.
