Agree. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! I love your personal style. The editing adds nothing and the background music makes it harder to focus on what you are saying/showing. X

This shade actually looks really good on you, your eyes look amazing in the purple plum tones, very nice. I have to be honest, the repetitive music in the background is distracting. But I'm liking the foundation, I'm liking it a lot.👍

Back in the day, my BFF and I used to wear all things Lancome but we both ended up ditching everything as we both developed a sensitivefity to the fragrance. However, the foundation looks very nice on you. 💕

The foundation is beautiful on you and the wear on this one is fabulous. It looked allllmost just as good end of night check in as it did when you applied! This one is foundation goals for me except I had to return it to ULTA 😢 the smell, the smell, the smell 🤦🏻♀️ I almost passed out from the first pump (ok that may be a little dramatic) but I did smell it all day long. I wasn’t able to wash it off and start over therefore I carried a screaming headache all day long. I am so happy it worked out for you though. 🌹

Thanks so much for your review! I loved that you went outside in your car to show the color. I bought the same foundation in the same color before watching your video and noticed when I got home that it looks a little too dark. But we will see after I've used it with all my makeup. Also, thanks for your comment related to the smell. Something I noticed too, and may end up having to take it back since "rose" extracts tend to give me rashes in products.

Thank you for your review. I had been hesitant to try this because I wasn't sure what shade to get. I am also a 140N in the other Lancome foundation and there isn't an exact match. It looks beautiful on you, so I feel safe giving it a try now as you are usually a shade match for me.💕
I would really like for you to try the new Haus labs foundation please!It looks like it’s going to work really well for dry skin from the couple reviews I’ve watched. It also seems to have a good shade range for our pale/cool tones!

late to the party! Looks beautiful on your skin! 💖 I've got 10 years on you with uber sensitive combination skin and this is my absolute ride or die foundation. Always looks fabulous and I am in an extremely hot and humid climate. I recommend it to everyone.

Loving your Mardi Gras vibes with the green and gold headband on your purple hair! 🥰 I was so impressed with the foundation review that I went looking for it online, and now I know why you couldn't buy your usual shade 140N. Lancome has only 30 shades in this formula, and it jumps straight from 125W to 220C. ☹️ I'm going to have to try to shade match in store.
If you want to make that shade blend into your neck, so you don't have a line, put a light concealer on your neck just a few dots and blend that line out. Works like a charm...

I'm confused why would you use a concealer vs just blending the foundation into your neck? Maybe my brain just isn't working this morning or I'm missing the hidden trick haha.

Not those little zoom-in edits!! I prefer your gimmick-free, no-nonsense style.
I think I just like to hear you talk haha! The music was a little distracting, but I liked having the text accentuate what you were saying, but I also like to have captions on when I watch movies so maybe I'm just like that haha. Maybe the music would be better for montages when you're not talking. Not so much a fan of the inserted images, such as the one of a lady hydrating her shoulder when you were describing the foundation.
They gave me the same shade as you, and I'm over 40. So I guess I now must follow you like a hawk, you're my exact literal tester!!!🤣❤

Im loving this too. I bought the new hourglass ambient glow for $85 & the lancome is $65 & much better I think.
I also got 220c and I’m normally 2 shades darker than you. So i was surprised! I do like this one! Nice eyeshadow look.
No I misspoke, I have 320C. I was gonna say wow that doesn’t look dark on you at all.
Appreciate your review!! This does look like a very pretty foundation (was considering this after the hourglass soft glow not working out for me shade wise). But I don’t know if I can deal with the scent lol. Barely get by with Dior’s forever matte scent, but love the foundation itself so much and smell doesn’t linger too long for me. Still love the rose scent though as long as it’s not crazy. By the way I found the music in this relaxing!! But I get that it could be distracting for others!

Do you know a hydrating longlasting foundation you can build to full coverage .Sometimes i have extremely red cheeks because i have rosacea but i have dry skin and the estee lauder i use it a bit dry .xx

I tend to have pretty good luck with the Lancome foundations, though I have yet to master their shade range.

I saw Mallory Brooke’s review on this and it ended up giving her a rash that wouldn’t go away for almost a week. (She has really sensitive skin). The fragrance/extracts was just too much for her skin.😬

P.S.- Music was distracting. It took away from the “Shelley-ness” of it, I feel. The other parts of the new edits I really liked- like the zoom in, meow, etc but maybe just a little less of them and with the volume on them turned down so I can hear you talk more and it doesn’t interrupt you as much. 👍

I got to where you said it was heavily fragranced. I don’t understand why they feel the need to add it into a foundation. I won’t buy it because the smell offends me! Especially rose 🤢
I don’t recall your swatches being over tattoos. Is that one new? (I like it! It really gives a clear depiction of how much coverage each foundation might give. And also, it’s just a pretty piece of body art. ☺️)
I just got a forearm tattoo on my formerly-bare left arm where I used to do my swatches =D in July when I was in Ireland!

Really want to try it but I won’t be able to deal with the smell. That’s a shame they heavily fragranced so much. Why does it need any fragrance??
I had not had a chance to watch yet bit since you posted about the editing, I had to click right away. Like someone else said, If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I totally get your needing an editor, but maybe they can just work with your own set style. It sets you apart and is just no nonsense and very calming.

Hi. I watch your foundation recommended videos. But I was really wondering if you happen to have a good bronzer recommendation???
My current favorite is the Flower Beauty Heatwave bronzer. I also like the L'Oreal True Match Lumi. I have the Charlotte Tilbury bronzers which are nice but pull a little too warm on me.

I got a sample of this from Sephora and it looked horrible on me. That's strange because whatever works for you usually works for me too. I might have gotten a bad sample or something

Re: Editting. Its fine, but for me it is a bit cheezy and seems a bit "ad" like. I prefer you doing you, but its your channel, so you should do whatever you want. Thats my 2 cents :) :)

@@r.c.7779 the clarins eye lift omg it’s so good! It’s exactly what it says an instant eye lift!!! And it’s not the kind that only lasts a couple hours it keeps your eyes looking good to the point you don’t even need concealer 😬

I am SAAAAAAD about Studio Sculpt!!!!!!!!!! I hope they replace it with something just as good. I haven't tried the MAC pro longwear yet. I probably should. My face has never met a MAC foundation it didn't like.

I’ve found many high-end foundations are stinky, full of perfumes or “signature” scent of whoever’s name is on the bottle.
That’s why I stick to mostly drug store and/or Dollar General’s Believe Beauty line.
Yeah, but plenty of drugstore lines have bad fragrances too...

Hi Cathy, I totally agree with you.
I’ve been using Believe Beauty or ColourPop as they don’t awaken my Multiple Chemical Sensitivity the way some really flowery scented foundations do.
I loved the Fit Me by Maybelline but (this might not make sense to you) I could “taste” the scent the whole time I had it on.
My MCS started years ago from over-exposure to fragrances from plug-ins, room & car air poisoners, highly scented laundry products to even bar soaps. I LOVE the smell of Irish Spring but I get headaches from it.

I need to pause the video to say: some of the edits were distracting but fun, so it's cool. However, I'm now to the part in the video where you're applying the Foundation, and I have to say: please, please don't use that transition anymore! I see no glow with this foundation, I see a satin matte finish at least on myself.

I could tell right away that you had farmed out the editing. I didn’t like it at all. I enjoyed your videos so much because you are so real and natural and using this outsourced editor makes it so impersonal. I hope you can take the time to do your own editing, although I understand your reasons for wanting to hire an editor.
I'd have to give up the channel if I don't hire out the editing, which I don't want to do, but I am working with the editor to get things more to my style. If you happen to watch the RMS review that just went up, please let me know what you think. It's late (was supposed to go up a few days ago Friday) because I was going back and forth with revisions to suit my style more. I did request to keep the text callouts for the shades and price etc in the beginning, but the edits are minimal throughout the rest.
Hello new editor. Please, please, please turn off the music. Oh Shelly, i hope you make time to continue your own editing. This is not a true representation of the Shelly videos I'm subscribed to. However, the foundation does look lovely on you.
Sadly after posting 3 videos per week for over 5 years, even cutting back to 1 video per week has not given me enough time to grow any of the other features I want to share with this community (such as the makeup app I've been working on for the past 4 years but don't have time to finish). There is so much more I can offer to you all if I'm not tied to a computer for hours every week watching myself on video!
