Both bands were great. Southern stood out because they spelled Benson and Brees and did the traditional 2nd line off the field but Grambling stood out because their performance was more like a mini field show with more movement and their dancers danced as well. Together the halftime was complete.
Grambling dancer's sideline formations were NOT straight. The ones on the left side were in front of the yellow line and the ones on the right were behind the line.
@@neicy684 folks always pointinv out other issues as if SU was perfect. They wasnt BOTH banda did well.

Smiley 24....let me preface this by saying both bands did a good job BUT SU is MORE than just noise as you put it. I can’t even begin to count the complicated arrangements that SU plays that other schools will not even think of attempting to play. Have you ever marched in a HBCU band ?

This was good... But I wish that could have did something epic and combine the bands to take advantage of the time slot.... Overall it was good though
Southern and Grambling will never combine. We have a better chance seeing Southern and JSU combining and that won't happen either.

It’s time for the SU guy to get off the field at the beginning of the show. Just let it be the drum major. Great show by both bands. I’m stunned that SU will only do the second line at tomorrow’s game. At least I think they will. I would’ve love to see it at least once during the year.

Wait im from New Orleans showtime web i like u but i think its wrong and disrespectful for u to try and compare these Louisiana bands against each other this is not a battle this is a performance and tribute to mr Benson and New Orleans saints but anyway shout out to southern and gambling representing Louisiana they both had amazing fields show (NFL) what amazing accomplishment

tammy craft; it was a great performance by both bands! But, everyone knows that this is Bayou Classic weekend. Those schools take over New Orleans. The biggest HBCU Classic in the Country. It just so happen that the Saints was playing last night. Both bands are staples of the Sidelines of the Saints games. Everyone knows that it’s always competition between the two when they meet! 🤷🏾♂️! That’s just the way it is!
@@lavdancy and u right but this was not a band battle this was part of a tribute to Mr Benson's and the saints and that title didn't sit well with me their a time a place for that this up coming weekend between Su and gram this wasn't that all I'm saying i stand by that

Ok I was looking at GSU time on the field and I saw the Saints Emblem, but what was the second formation they did? I didn't see or understand what they did. but I'm on a serious note I will have love for the blue and gold Human Juke Box 85 aka Baby Plas, Trumpet players
2nd formation is just their dance block. They use a vary different formation for it compared to other bands,

Gsu was consistent all season. Thats real aint shit messy about either show!! Excellent tributes and very classy for GSU to invite Southern to do the halftime with them thats why only 3 mins per band gsu wouldve gotten 6 mins. Gsu did this same game last season. Good job to both of these bands hectic weekend ahead of them
