This is a dilemma for some families. My parents do not want to move to US, but we have tried to get them tourist visa (2019 and 2023) and in both cases it was denied. The family ties of course are minimum for my parents (all their kids are abroad, 2 in USA). Economically they are covered by us, the kids, and they are fine where they are, but my parents want to visit us (their kids in USA) and they simply can't because of the visa problem. Therefore, the option I am evaluating is to "request" them, and I think with all the "issueS" we hear in this country about immigration it sounds stupid, the system is forcing an individual to do this (I mean I know the word forcing sound "too much"). What else can I/We do?
So what exactly do consular officers want people to do? Lie about not having family in the US when they actually do? I don't think it's fair instantly "assuming" someone intends to migrate permanently to the US just because he/she has a family member in America. My wife's brother was given an admission to study for his masters. He told me the consular officer took just one look at his I20, stated that a family member in the US is sponsoring him to which he said yes, and denied him outright just because it said "family funds in the US", as it should say since it's we that want to sponsor his education. Took him less than 20 seconds. The guy didnt even ask for his documents. I feel if they don't want to approve people with family members here, they should be straightforward and honest about it by saying so. Those visa and other fees and resources could be channeled elsewhere.
Hi Argo Team. I just denied I don’t know why, I was really planning to study English language program first and then study my masters in New York city. And after that I was planning to apply for a work to the university in my country but I don’t know why they denied. I studied my bachelors degree overseas and my major wasn’t in English(it was in local language of the country that I studied). And I told officer right now I don’t have the certificate so that’s why I want to learn English and after that study my masters. They kept me for too long and officer seemed he couldn’t decide by himself and led me to wait for him for a bit and then he came back and did some checking and said sorry can’t give you visa. I really was disappointed because I was really going there for study and apply for a job in my country afterwards. This way it’s easier to get a job since US has a very good reputation when it comes to education and people are considered very well educated if someone graduates from the USA. I talked too much so sorry about it but I hope that I can a bit of advice or overview about what probably went wrong. I just wanted to have a degree in the US and how are my chances if I try the second chance. Thanks a lot to you guys.🙏
I’ve been denied before I can’t figure out why but I got a document which states that I didn’t have anything that ties me to my home country… mean while When the visa officer asked if i had someone in the us but I said no, he asked if I am married I said yes with 2 kids, I told him I’m working for an individual company while I manage my poultry farm business but I guess it was my sponsor that messed it up cos I used someone else who is not even my family but I’ll be having my next interview by 15th of this month I’m getting prepared already and I want to use my dad as a sponsor
My nephew was denied to get the F1 visa. I am an American citizen, however, I am the only family member living in the US. Everyone else (his parents, grand parents, siblings, etc) all live in his home country. My question is, how does a kid (17 years old) proves ties to a country? He is finishing his high-school program now and wanted to do a couple of years of college in the US.
Hi officer 👋 I have question about my financial Like my parents are my sponsor and they have their savings for my education and they have transferred that money into my own personal account. So in my i20 it has been mention that money is my personal funds so it is gonna be problem for me n interview about sponsor?? Plz reply 🙏
Hello, Argo team my mom, dad, and brother are in us dad and mom are on green cards, and our brother and his family are on p.r. I to got refused once how should I respond when the visa officer asked me about this situation
my step father is in US and he applied my IR2 case due to covid case is still pending so i decided to go though from f1 CATEGORY. ive only done my biomatric in IR2 case so, is it possible to mention in DS-160 form.
Hello. I have a question and I would be very grateful if someone responds to me. Im applying a DS-160 for a relative. She has her daughter in USA, who went there with a studying visa, but stayed more than the time she was permitted. I would like to ask, when you mention her name at direct relative section for a B2 type of visa, is there any chance that her daughter might face problems with immigration office? Thank you in advance.
Hi ma'am, thank you for all your advice. I need to ask a question, I had my DV interview and got approved, a week later the officer moved me to 221(g) administrative processing and request me to submit my resume. My question is that what do you think the reason of being adjudicated to 221g case , and is submitting an affidavit of support could help speed up my case processing (they didn't ask for it). You reply is really appreciated. Thank you
Hi Argo, does been admitted in a community college which doesn't offer housing for international students affects visal approval? Considering the fact that u don't have anyone or any family in the US? How do u answer the question where will u be living in the US?
Hi Argo Visa I have a question I don’t understand. It goes like this “What are you going to do with your course?” I don’t understand what the question means. A reply is appreciated.
I think it means how the course will help you in your career path. So you tell them how the course is going to influence your career, positively. Not just you but your community as a whole.
Hello Argo Team, just want to ask if my immediate family in the US(sister-Legal Permanent Resident and parents-B2 Visa) can affect my visa interview denial? Im a J1 Teacher Applicant.
It certainly could. When you are trying to overcome a prior refusal, figuring out what the biggest impacts on your case negatively and positively is very important for succeeding on your next attempt. We can help you with this! You can book a session with our team on our website at www.argovisa.com
What if my wife is in the USA but I don’t indicate in my D-160 that she is there, will my visa officer know? Since the D-160 doesn’t ask to provide my spouses Passport details.
Hello, I have my sister in f1 visa studying undergrad in usa. I am applying now for Master program. Does my getting visa is affected by my sibling being there in f1 visa? Please reply.
My Maternal aunt is in USA and she sponsoring me for my first year along with that my dad is also sponsoring me for 2nd year and I’ve secured a bank loan of 20L rupees I am financially stable but during the i20 process I have been working with bank offline to get my bank loan sanctioned that’s the reason my aunt helped me with the sponsor Will that affect my visa ?
