I have scavenged the internet for a Sweeney who could pull of Epiphany, and this is the man He is up there with George Hearn and Len Cariou. The Mrs. Lovett is also spectacular!

Epiphany and just keep living are my favorite songs in the entire movie / musical.. I've been looking for anyone who can sing it as well as johnny depp can, and this one is amazing. The Mrs. Lovett i loved too!

This has to be one of my favorite Mrs. Lovett. She reminds me of Harley Quinn during her performance.

I don't know why this just popped up as a suggestion for me. Glad it did. Boy do I remember it and this era...what a French Woods wave of talent....and solidly directed and musically directed. I love Sweeney in the Playhouse.

The end is usually very chilling with Toby, but something about this really stuck out to me! It was so scary yet sad at the same time. Wonderful work on this!

I know, right? He acted it well, and he took everything so slowly! Many of the Toby’s I’ve seen either don’t get insane enough or they just rush through the lines.

This is literally the only version I’ve seen where in the Ballad Of Sweeney they didn’t say barber like barbel and it makes me so happy. In most other versions they add a random L in the word

Woah these are 17 year olds and younger? Dang. Sooo good. And that Epiphany? Wow.
I'm just disappointed though that you completely cut out the Beggar Woman's Lullaby, which makes that scene a loooot less heartbreaking. Productions rarely sing it but they play a few measures at least. You included everything, even the tooth-pulling scene, so I wonder why was it cut out?

It bothers me that they holdout the notes like it is the phantom of the opera, that is why I love the tim Burton version, but I still watch the other ones, I mean you have to give every thing a chance, just because I am not too fond of the way they sing, it didn't mean that I hate it

LemonLime TheWolf well it IS an operetta essentially. I'm pretty sure that's how the music is written :)

In the show currently. Can confirm that the music is written the way that it's shown in this production.

It's Broadway show written by Sondheim.... of COURSE that's how it sounds... I've seen it done with Broadway casts.... that's the right sound.... in my opinion the movie version lacked in a lot of areas in which they "fiddled" with the music and lines..... But then I feel that way about virtually every movie version of a Broadway show....
