Actually no, i got lucky & wanted to clap up Pokey from the start >< I also got even luckier & tried the pray to finish off Giygas, after only trying it a few times throughout my playthrough

I'll be the odd person here and say that this sounds much better compressed. Earthbound's music was made with the compression in mind, so to hear it like this actually sounds worse.

I think the reason it sounds so off is because the samples were brought in first and then they did with what they were given afterwards.
I don't know if that's what happened, but that's the only way I can understand the compressed version being better.
Both sound good in their own way though in my opinion.
