41:38 This is true. My favorite time period of ECW is late 95 and 96 because the video quality and aesthetic was perfect. The years prior it kind of looked like a lower grade regional territory but eventually it became like the perfect underground wrestling show. No logos all over the place, no bright colors or excessive lights. It was the best.
You can tell Hannibal truly cares about his shoot interviews. He does a good amount of reasearch on the stars beforehand. And granted that should be the norm but it isn't necessarily. Good job, man
The real deal. Answers questions in short convincing responses and doesn't drone on and on. He answered about 200 questions. Great talent. Just bought his book. Thanks Hannibal.
Sabu n rvd had a lot of fun parties in the ecw days getting drunk n high on crack/coke, weed, meth n pills. Also had orgies with bunch of women....good times, im sure rvd n sabu tag teamed a bunch of girls
I really enjoyed this interview. I purposely didn't watch the clips weeks prior because I wanted to watch it entirely once it was available. Sabu seems very honest and extremely knowledgeable not to mention very funny. Thank you Hannibal, you always do an excellent job and ask all the right questions.
I hate what wrestling has become. I’ve not watched religiously like when I was a kid for 20 years. I love watching the guys I grew up watching talk about the business though. Great vid Hannibal TV.
Sabu and RVD are hands down my favorite wrestlers of all time. I didn’t get to watch them in their hayday but I’ve gone back and watched as much as I can. The fact Sabu will most likely never get into any hall of fame is criminal.
Sabu was always my favorite hardcore legend. I always assumed he was a chill dude irl, because he wasn't really a promo guy, but he loved wrestling and his matches were always worth a thousand promos.
I remember my cousin telling me in 1995: "You have to see this guy Sabu. He's fucking crazy." I don't know why I took so long to heed his advice. When I finally say him, I was a fan for life. Sabu was revolutionary.
So funny self deprecating and such a great attitude for a man that gave everything to a business that he loved and that gave very little back in return. A Legend is an understatement
Never had the chance to get into ECW so i did not know much about sabu other then he looked cool. After this shoot i can say i know i missed out because this guy os awesome
They say dont meet your heros but it's not always the case especially with a solid down to earth amazing worker like Sabu! Much respect to him and the people who set up this shoot, I had no idea about his book so catching this was awesome!
He looks and sounds so much better when compared to his other shoots. U can see him genuinely smile and laugh where in other interviews u can tell he doesn't give a shit about what he's talking about and is just there for a pay day
I haven't watched wrestling for years and I'm not familiar with Sabu but he's an absolutely cool and interesting guy. I got a little buzz just listening to him.
I always enjoyed and appreciated Sabu's work. I used to have the Terry Funk barbed wire match on a VHS tape. Glad to see he's not only doing fine but he's cool as shit.
Great interview as always. Just curious, of all the “older” wrestlers you’ve interviewed, who are the top 3 guys who look like they are in good enough shape to still go?
Can’t believe this guy never made a million dollars sabu was awesome just had terrible business sense and was to trusting unfortunately his Hannibal gimmick was cool!
Funny around an hour 3 minutes into it Sabu is asked about Phil Baroni the NYBA. I knew him from Little League all thru HS but had no idea they ever crossed paths. When he was on Tough Man he talks to LIsa Guerrero its pretty funny. Though he is trained in Wresting, MMA, Boxing, Thai, so it would have went badly for Terry Brunk. That was a really good interview Sabu was always my favorite Wrestling especially in the FMW/ECW era. I don't think its the same year though otherwise have same Birthday as Mike Awesome a real legend best wrestler I think his size ever. Never knew about the Bruiser Brody thing or many other topics touched on so nice job on the research too.
One of the most underrated (hardcore-)wrestlers outthere....eeeeverybody talks about Terry Funk.....rarely ppl mention Sabu. Of what I did witness through the 80/90ties...he was legit. Seeing him using one of these 'new' smoking devices hurts/stings me😆....I am still the 'I smoke a normal joint' dude....
Who coined the phrase, "the shits, 41:51" in the wrestling world vocabulary? I always thought it was Mean Gene Okerlund for some reason, but anyone thinks they might know the start of it's origin, I would love to hear about it. Rolls off the tongue perfectly with all the poignancy of how it sounds , and barely anyone says it nowadays still outside the wrestling universe.
SABU RULED, ECW 1995// 96// 97// ENJOYED SABU, HIS AGILITY// AND HIS TAGGING WITH RVD // AND THE ANGLE WHERE SABU WENT TO SHAKE RVD'S HAND AND RVD WOULD NOT SHAKE IT. THEY FEUDED AND HAD GREAT MATCHES \~/
If Sabu could break out of his box and talk - he could still be bigger than Sabu has ever been? His mind is at the highest levels in this theatre., WWE should have him train a pool of guys and just watch the magic.
Sabu was awesome!!!!! The kids today have no idea how truly Insane & bloodthirsty The Sheik was.... The WWE & AEW have nothing like The Sheik!!!! When Sabu first met Vince he didn't know who The Sheik was??????? Are you f--king kidding me Vince??????
14:02 caught me off guard cause I thought the EXACT SAME THING.... Well at least I heard it from his own mouth Lol I just realized I’m vaping while watching this and sabu vaping too.. I wonder if THC is inside his vape too 🤔
I thought he explained it came from the actor Sabu. Which I always wondered because when I was a kid I used to like the 1940s version of The Theif of Bagdad which Sabu The Elephan Boy was in and wondered if the name came from him. Turns out it did.
I used to think he sounded like that cuz he was missing teeth, but he said his face was partially paralyzed from being shot early in his life, so is that why he tends to slur his words a little?
New Jack didnt show up at one night stand apparently he was still mad at paul Heyman for not paying him the last time he work for him. But I still wish new Jack did show up just imagine if he did that crowd would have gone crazy for him
HOW CAN SULLIVAN PAY A LEGEND LIKE SABU $500. A MATCH// THAT SHIT IS CRAZY// SABU TRULY LOVES HIS CRAFT// HE SAID I WOULD WORK EVEN IF THEY PAYED ME ANOTHER TIME// HE LOVED TO WORK// SABU VS. LOW KI WOULD BE A GREAT MATCH// THEY MAY HAVE HAD A MATCH// NOT SURE// BUT THAT WOULD BE SO COOL// THEY ARE BOTH AMAZING \~/

Thank you, sir, as usual, a great interview with an extraordinary man.
bought it! and it's great!!
When u get da chance can u interview trenesha biggers (rhaka Khan)?
You really went the extra mile I watched hours of Sabu Shoot interviews but still found new things I didn't know.
Sabu and RVD made me start watching wrestling again when I saw them in ECW. He's one of the greatest of all time and should be a millionaire today
I'm going to look for that to check out

Amazing shoot as always. Great stuff Sabu, such a legend doesn't get the appreciation he truly deserves.
Totally agree
You can tell Hannibal truly cares about his shoot interviews. He does a good amount of reasearch on the stars beforehand. And granted that should be the norm but it isn't necessarily. Good job, man
For someone who was in a lot of hardcore matches he has a great memory, true legend.
The real deal. Answers questions in short convincing responses and doesn't drone on and on. He answered about 200 questions. Great talent. Just bought his book. Thanks Hannibal.
Sabu looks like he's about to lose it at any second
I wanna smoke meth with Sabu!
Hahha I know some people like that. They have a heart of gold but you know one thing will just set them off.
he is holding back tears half the time. especially when he talks about the wwe tryouts an shit
Sabu n rvd had a lot of fun parties in the ecw days getting drunk n high on crack/coke, weed, meth n pills. Also had orgies with bunch of women....good times, im sure rvd n sabu tag teamed a bunch of girls
Homicidal...genocidal....
I really enjoyed this interview. I purposely didn't watch the clips weeks prior because I wanted to watch it entirely once it was available. Sabu seems very honest and extremely knowledgeable not to mention very funny. Thank you Hannibal, you always do an excellent job and ask all the right questions.
As a teenager I remember seeing ads for VHS compilations of Sabu matches in Pro Wrestling Illustrated ☝️📼 *legend*
Man I love Sabu, he’s always been one of my all time favorites well within my top 5 Wrestlers 👊
Love this interview. Sabu is an amazing hardcore legend of all time.
Sabu is one of my favorite wrestler's. Thanks for the interview hannibal . Very entertaining.😎
Sabu will live to be 108yrs old
Great interview, very informative. I really enjoyed it, thank you, never knew Sabu could talk!!!
He's a silent one, it adds to his mystique
I hate what wrestling has become. I’ve not watched religiously like when I was a kid for 20 years. I love watching the guys I grew up watching talk about the business though. Great vid Hannibal TV.
Called Benoit a sissy for going to hospital to check on him , haha
Perhaps the greatest shoot interview of all time IMO. the part about Bruiser Brody is pure gold, tremendous new insight on that terrible murder.
One of my alltime favorite wrestlers. A true legend who always gave the fans their moneys worth.
Sabu and RVD are hands down my favorite wrestlers of all time. I didn’t get to watch them in their hayday but I’ve gone back and watched as much as I can. The fact Sabu will most likely never get into any hall of fame is criminal.

I used to tape trade back in the day and always was amazed by sabu.
*Great interview!!---Sabu for the WWE H.O.F!!*
So funny self deprecating and such a great attitude for a man that gave everything to a business that he loved and that gave very little back in return. A Legend is an understatement
So Heyman being a little bitch kept him from signing what would have been the only big-money contract he ever had a chance at that's nice of him
Thank you, Hannibal! This was an awesome interview
Miss Sabu been a minute since I saw him in Downingtown farmers market was very nice.
Thank you for this! Excellent job💯
Sabu vs Muhammad Hassan in ECW 2006 would have been awesome to see
Never had the chance to get into ECW so i did not know much about sabu other then he looked cool. After this shoot i can say i know i missed out because this guy os awesome

Great interview! Great match!
Hannibal with the best questions and genuine interest👍🏻
They say dont meet your heros but it's not always the case especially with a solid down to earth amazing worker like Sabu! Much respect to him and the people who set up this shoot, I had no idea about his book so catching this was awesome!

I have known about Sabu , never saw him work but i will now. What a cool guy
Sabu and ECW were the old days days! He is amazing!
*points to the sky*
He looks and sounds so much better when compared to his other shoots. U can see him genuinely smile and laugh where in other interviews u can tell he doesn't give a shit about what he's talking about and is just there for a pay day

Sabu a real legend !!!!
I always enjoyed and appreciated Sabu's work. I used to have the Terry Funk barbed wire match on a VHS tape. Glad to see he's not only doing fine but he's cool as shit.
I had always respected Sabu as a wrestler and now as a man. A bit guarded about some details and with some questions but good interview!
Great interview as always. Just curious, of all the “older” wrestlers you’ve interviewed, who are the top 3 guys who look like they are in good enough shape to still go?
Haku and Barbarian
THIS GUY IS HYSTERICA:L:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great Ace impression

Hannibal surporisingly sharp interviewer imporessed
How the fuck did I miss this?
Sabu's take on Orange Cassidy and Joey Ryan at about 1:17 is pretty good
I'd put the time an effort, if Sabu would train ME !!!!! My run would be short, but I'll Risk it All
LEGEND
Yeah, we need Sabu in AEW. They dont even have to put the spotlight on him, the fans will take of the rest, ESPECIALLY in the east coast.
Hit that cart like u trying to actually get a buzz. Mad respect for Sabu
God I miss ECW and Sabu in particular
One of the most underrated (hardcore-)wrestlers outthere....eeeeverybody talks about Terry Funk.....rarely ppl mention Sabu. Of what I did witness through the 80/90ties...he was legit. Sabu with the THC cart!!!! Hell ya

Nice interview, very sad that Super Genie Melissa Coates passed away, must've been tough for him.
This guy is the VladTV of wrestling shoots .......I love it though
His body has taken a toll, it would be cool to see him Wrestle still though.
My all time greatest wrestler
Born to be Wired...GRUESOME
exellent shoot hannbal,love sabu"s t shirt .

50:56 to 51:20 had me dead lol 😆.
🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
If Sabu could break out of his box and talk - he could still be bigger than Sabu has ever been? His mind is at the highest levels in this theatre., WWE should have him train a pool of guys and just watch the magic.

Sabu The Elephant Boy... The Sheik must have been a John Prine fan!
I thought he explained it came from the actor Sabu. Which I always wondered because when I was a kid I used to like the 1940s version of The Theif of Bagdad which Sabu The Elephan Boy was in and wondered if the name came from him. Turns out it did.
Real legend in kaybee
I used to think he sounded like that cuz he was missing teeth, but he said his face was partially paralyzed from being shot early in his life, so is that why he tends to slur his words a little?
Yes, that and he's an alcoholic crackhead.
@@leeschofield488 he does drugs but hes not a crackhead.. Or an alcoholic
Sabu vs Jimmy Havoc in AEW could be insane!
Ojala verlo en español!!! o pongan subtitulos!
New Jack didnt show up at one night stand apparently he was still mad at paul Heyman for not paying him the last time he work for him. But I still wish new Jack did show up just imagine if he did that crowd would have gone crazy for him
