Hi Griff, Love it, have always loved this opening riff and the song in general. I am a very visual and verbal learner. It would help me a ton if you could provide a tab so that I can review it while learning the song. Is that possible?
question bout the guitar . is that the slim neck profile ? and noticed at the nut ... are you just using pencil shavings ? or some kind of graphite? last but not least is that a corian nut ? just curious , also love the color.
Yes, this is more of the 60's style slimmer neck and I use the standard "color with a #2 pencil" trick to keep it in tune a little better when I bend a lot. I don't know the nut material, it is whatever came on the guitar when I bought it (2013 or 2014 I believe.)
Strangely, i start playing less and less with the plectrum( or pick) and enjoy more playing with the fingers. it's like i have more control over different nuances and unwanted string resonations
Do we really need a lesson to play Further on up the Road?? Eric Clapton needs to watch this, he needs all the help he can get, he's been playing it repeatedly for 50 yrs and it still suuucks
Great guitar teacher.
He teaches how to play note by note but, most important, why you play those notes.
I've learned so much from this video.
I’ve been heating this in my head and on the stage for years

A little more involved than I (or some of the other guitar teachers on UA-cam) thought, and much more interesting.

. Is it a 1-4-5 chord progression.
Yes.
The "original" actually is by Bobby Blue Bland not Clapton.
Yeah, but the Clapton/Bonmassa version if f-ing hot stuff!
Also check out the BB King/John Mayer version, slower, but SWEEEEEET!
