Dyed my hair for 10 years then, four years ago (age 56), I made the leap to letting my gray grow. Best decision! I was so enthusiastic about it that I converted 2 of my naysayers. 😊 I was directed to your channel by Tamara’s Timeless Beauty 💜
Hi Rene, I was 55 when I decided I was done with dying my hair. Going Grey has been amazing for me as well! My mom was upset at first but now she loves it. Tamara is so kind to give me a shout out. Her followers are the sweetest community. I am so fortunate to have many of them pop over and say hello. I’m working on content ideas so be sure to throw out a suggestion or two. Oh thank you! 😊 This lovely comment means so much. I have had the nastiest comments this week about my grey hair. I know it’s right for me and I love it. But the comments can get to me. Thank you SOOO much for your kindness 💜💜💜
It's been a year since I started going grey. Most of my family likes it. My 8 year old granddaughter hates it, which makes me sad. There are days I don't like it, but most of the time I do. I definitely had to change my wardrobe colors.
It's so funny that many of us are so afraid of negative comments from people who don't know. That being said I find it unconscionable that someone who cares about you would discourage you about a natural look. I was actually hard on my self until I reached 60. Perhaps that's actually how most of us really feel about it. We are hard on ourselves and it's just easier to blame others. Perhaps.
Thank you for sharing 💜. You may just be right! I do tend to be too hard on myself. I’m definitely a work in progress, as we all are! Maybe 60 will be my magic number too! Hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday!
I love your hair color and the short style looks good on you.i have long hair mostly very black still, but i have some grey hair too.i’m excited to have my hair to look like storm from x-men one day.i’m 48 years old.and i use purple shampoo too.i’m done with dyeing my hair.i been dyeing my hair ever since i was a teen.i have wavy, curly hair type.my husband loves my gray hair.
Yay! Welcome to the silver sisters. Grey hair is a serious adventure but so worth it! It’s unique to each of us which I love!! It’s the expression of becoming authentically YOU! 💜💜💜
You look beautiful. I am just beginning the process and new to your channel. So, a plus for me (besides deciding to go from blonde to grey) was becoming a subscriber. I have been watching a lot of videos, but yours has been the most helpful in caring for my hair. Thank you!
Congratulations on your gray hair journey! I’m so glad my video was helpful. I haven’t made too many changes, but I do need to do an updated video on gray hair care. I’ll put it on my list 💜💕💜
In my younger years I always said I'd color my hair til I was 70. I decided to quit coloring my hair the month before covid broke out. I was 66 and started to hate the coloring process. It couldn't have been a better time to let it go gray. I had short hair for years. I went cold turkey and it couldn't have been easier. I got my haircut about every 7 weeks and wear an asymmetrical hairstyle. It was fun every haircut to see the different shades of gray. It took a few months for the dyed color to be completely gone. I still have different shades of gray and people think I've had it colored that way. I've received lots of compliments on the color. I couldn't be happier with my decision. Yes, you have to be mentally ready. I initially joined some Facebook groups for going gray and it was a big help. For those deciding to go gray, enjoy the journey ❤
Don’t know why you didn’t mention getting a good quality wig or topper. I got a couple of wigs the color gray I have (but more volume!) and cut my own thinning hair into a short pixie. I can’t tell you how many people told me I looked years younger! Now I just do my makeup, pop on a wig, and go!
THANK YOU for this video..I’m 75 and have colored my brunette hair since I was in my thirties. I have a great colorist but I’m so tired of having to get it colored….this was SO encouraging…but I’m scared😳

@@beyond50skin: I cannot use a conditioning cleanser due to thinning hair. It took me 2 years, once I was natural, to learn to use a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner vs. a volumizing one since silver hair is a totally different animal. :) Pureology Hydrate Shampoo/Conditioner and Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Replenishing Moisture Shampoo/Conditioner are my favs. Along with Alterna Replenishing Moisture CC Cream. Keeping a short and chic haircut has helped me rock my style. I always rock big earrings and try to dress fashionably. I also agree about color choices - I no longer wear brown or warm colors; I love jewel tones and cooler colors. I get many comments about my hair!
