It's so funny that many of us are so afraid of negative comments from people who don't know. That being said I find it unconscionable that someone who cares about you would discourage you about a natural look. I was actually hard on my self until I reached 60. Perhaps that's actually how most of us really feel about it. We are hard on ourselves and it's just easier to blame others. Perhaps.

In my younger years I always said I'd color my hair til I was 70. I decided to quit coloring my hair the month before covid broke out. I was 66 and started to hate the coloring process. It couldn't have been a better time to let it go gray. I had short hair for years. I went cold turkey and it couldn't have been easier. I got my haircut about every 7 weeks and wear an asymmetrical hairstyle. It was fun every haircut to see the different shades of gray. It took a few months for the dyed color to be completely gone. I still have different shades of gray and people think I've had it colored that way. I've received lots of compliments on the color. I couldn't be happier with my decision. Yes, you have to be mentally ready. I initially joined some Facebook groups for going gray and it was a big help. For those deciding to go gray, enjoy the journey ❤

Thanks very much for your comment. I never thought of that. You could be right. In my situation (54) I had a light wave put in my bleached blonde, past shoulder length hair because it was so lifeless. The wave took it to a another level of poor quality🥲. My grey now is actually in much better condition. But are certainly days when going. Gray is very frustrating. I can’t heat style my gray because it turns yellow. It looks best when it’s really short because it’s fine & looks fuller in a shorter style. I’m in the middle of growing it out & experimenting with lots of shampoos, styling products etc just to see what longer grey hair looks like. And I’m curious to try some of the interesting new cool styling tips & tools. Sorry to prattle on, but you caught me on a day when I’m not feeling too confident about my gray hair grow out.😂🤣😂 Wishing you a very happy day and so glad that you’re a part of the beyond50skin family.💕💜💕

I'm 63 and went grey about 6 years ago. Then I had it coloured again when I bowed to pressure, mainly from my mother! Also my hair wasn't as grey as I expected and I didn't love the colour. I've just decided to go grey again and haven't coloured for 4 months now... I'm needing a cut and I agree that a good cut makes all the difference. I have fine hair.

Hi Sarah, I will try to find the videos I watched and link them in the description. In general cooler tones on the color wheel will work better with grey hair. share.icloud.com/photos/0320UTlraTQyDUHrIacNjUCYA.
For example if you love pink … think pinks that have a cool undertone (blue or green) vs pinks with a warm undertone like colors you see in a sunset (yellows & red). Hope this helps!! and I’ll try to find those videos for you. 💜💜
