I believe everyone in our group watched the video because we cruised through it. Normally I die once or twice as samurai on any new content (for me), but not this time! Thanks a ton!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Endwalker is tweaking dungeons and putting some of my guides out of date (rip Sohr Khai). It's probably not worth me going back to older expansions as it's too likely that SE will tweak the dungeons there. That said the trials seem untouched and gosh darn it I still want to at least cover the rest of those for the MSQ.
They seem to be pretty much the same on the normal trials. There have, of course, been added some more extreme versions of it though I haven't seen anything about those yet. (Extreme is just one example, there was one other as well, ultimate/savage maybe?)
Thanks so much for all your videos! As a first time player, these are so helpful and entertaining to watch. Sometimes, I end up rewatching just because they're so funny. (But mostly I rewatch because I'm a healer and I usually end up running around like a chicken with its head cut off if I don't...)
🎉I took a bit of time out to play some other games / do some other videos but was always subscribed. Got back into it to make a few glams and am currently leveling a bit of an alt. Been really meaning to come back and at least finish the trial guides though because I would love to be able to cover every single MSQ trial. Let's see, the queues for these are far too long during the week so I recorded these runs on the weekend. Will probably need to do that going forward. Anyway, happy to hear your support!
Hey Tom, another really great guide - I always look for yours before any other - one minor thing - I’m pretty sure I’m still in the Shadowbringers expansion! 😊
Hey, glad you liked it! Regarding the name, this is something that comes up now and then in the comments. Basically, the content itself is from Shadowbringers but the game is now Endwalker - so this is a guide for beating that trial in Endwalker. Granted it can be a bit confusing but I wanted to make the 'up to date-ness' of the guides be apparent (so you know that when this guide was made, Endwalker was the active expansion). Might be there was a better way to do this but at this point it is what it is. Anyway hope that makes it more understandable :D
Thanks for the guide, as usual :). IDK what went wrong, but I somehow got a Dance Stance instead of my usual Tank Stance and whenever I wanted to attack, it was replaced by some dance emotes and my mitigation was replaced by the sickest dance moves that made me slide all across the room to avoid incoming attacks ;). 11/10 would fight again. Oh, and I learned that Midgardsormr sits on my shoulder if I stand still long enough, which is a nice little detail. I wonder what other easter eggs minions have that I haven't discovered yet. Yeah, it's 2:30am again and no one wants to do this on my data center right now.
Yeah there's a number of pets that can perch on your shoulder. I also vaguely remember seeing some pets interact with those from another player but I can't remember the details. You can /beckon on pets to see if they will jump up (though I also vaguely remember some pets don't react to this emote even though they are viable).
@@TomScottDoesStuff Hey TSDS, Have I missed the breadcrumbs, or have you not done the Shadowbringers dungeon, Amaurot? In which case, consider yourself grovelled at.
Heya, yeah I only covered the trials after Stormblood. I intended to keep going with the Heavensward dungeons but then I noticed SE started updating them which rendered some of my guides completely out of date - I figured there wasn't much point spending all the energy into covering them if they might get tweaked soon (and dungeons are generally more forgiving as each boss only has 1 or 2 mechanics). I could do Amaurot I suppose. It depends if you're stuck on it for the MSQ (maybe you're past it now already :D) or just find it generally troublesome. I remember going blind through all of those dungeons as you could take an NPC team with you and most of the bosses were not too difficult to work out first try, or after one or two wipes 🤔
@@TomScottDoesStuff Ah. Understood. It's not possible to do everything, and from the little I know, quality seamless editing isn't a quick job. Aumarot was a problem because I tried it several times with NPCs, and died at the last boss, right under its nose, at the end of the battleground (and the fight), at which moment I discovered the npc healer doesn't raise. It was really frustrating, and I was trying to find out if there was even the smallest safe spot. You do practical, thorough but still concise guides, and I was hoping you'd done one which might help me with the bitter end. Eventually I did it with humans, died at the penultimate moment, same spot, but the other DD used Limit Break, and it was over. And yes, food, pots, and not under-geared. :)
@@mystgirlone2166 Hmm, interesting. I just ran the place now for the first time in a long time (with NPCs too). On the last boss his massive line aoe targets the whole platform in front of him but wont hit the small square shaped areas coming off of the sides. However each time he uses this move one of these squares will glow pink - the next time he casts the move, the pink square is destroyed (which can make people fall to their death). Even with low NPC dps the boss never jumped to the very end of the platform so I'm not sure is that possible. In general though not too complicated so probably wouldn't take that long to make a guide 🤔
You have easily the most thorough guides for FF14 while still being fairly concise. Everyone goes to MTQcapture for whatever reason, but her guides miss a lot of stuff.
Hey thanks! And yeah, I'm not gonna say you're wrong but then in fairness I have the luxury of making guides way after the fact. If I was trying to make them ASAP when the content is new I would probably miss out on some eventual best strategies or tips. Though for sure I also run each place quite a few times to get as good of an idea of how best to clear it with random groups - so that helps pinpoint guidance a little more. Anyway I'm happy to hear the guides are effective at least 👍
Your guides do compliment MTQ's. I saw her's first this time through, and yours was the first I looked at a few months ago. I make it a point to review both of them in order to get a better overall sense of what is going on based on whatever role I am playing at the moment.
You know we can dance if we want to. Heck we've got all your life and mine. Plus as long as we abuse it, we'll never gonna lose it and everything'll work out right.
Hmm I mean mayybbe if the boss was starting to transition between phases but they go untargetable when doing that so idk. It's been a really long time since I've been put into this fight though so my memory is a little rusty. Perhaps someone else coming down to the comments can give an idea.
Still my favorite channel for guides.

Trials are usually the more challenging MSQ content imo, so good guides for these are always appreciated!

Hey no worries, thanks! I'm always glad to hear when these guides have made themselves useful!
Great to see you doing FFXIV content again!
Tyft.... Oh wait, I thought I'm still in a hunt train 😂 but really thanks for the guide! I'm glad you are back to FFXIV 🤲🏼

If you're a Lalafell, he'll perch on top of your head and that's why he's my favorite minion. 😂
Thanks for another clear, no-nonsense guide!
Hey no worries, glad it helped!

Thank you 👍. I always watch your guides because I'm old and you don't talk too fast 😂.
After recently discovering what seems to be the average age of the people in the FC i'm in, we can be old together 😅
Instructions unclear, outdanced my party instead of the boss

I hit a Lb3 when it was ready, and it didn't do anything. Is there a period where it won't do any damage?

yes, she still becomes invulnerable when her power gauge is up...use your lb3 on one of the trees, heh, then at least it won't be wasted.
