As a protea main, too many people subsume something over the 4. It's an incredibly powerful ability, but has a significant learning curve to master. One of my favorite tricks is to use it as a movement tool~there are many mission types (sabotage, netracell, excavation) where backtracking towards an objective is incredibly helpful, and the 4 can do that and remove every enemy along the way
I really love these videos. Showing what can be done with little to no investment. Too many people are fooled into believing that you have to have 5 of this archon shard, you MUST helminth this ability and replace that or the build won't work. Keep doing what you do. You've got our support. 💯
Its not that builds wont work without those extra things, its more about that they can just make them better. There was a time when we didnt have archon shards but I'd be lying if I said that having couple of casting speed shards on a frame wouldnt make them more fun or fluid to play. But I respect these kind of videos that are new player friendly, especially when they are made as well as this one!

Not bad for a beginners guide we need more of these as youtue is already filled with investment builds oh you can run around the map while her 4 is active. You can hold 4 to cancel it when the timer starts ticking or you can invert the commands in setting to tap to just tap instead.

Protea main here, range is only important if your gonna play camping in specfic tittle sets. Turrets AI will target randomly all over the place if enemies are not grouped or a corridor. Range on protea is a beginners trap, turrets has good range with no mods. Heat inherit is only necessary on lvl cap runs. Considering the new ancient infested healer can dr and give a second layer of og for eximus units put magnetic as well so you can bypass og faster. Thats a good bugdet build for beginners. So happy that wf yt didnt subsume her 4.

Protea hopping above the ground before casting her 1 is probably the dumbest thing ever still, i hate that. It causes a delay before they can hit the ground and deploy and you usually have to ensure you cast more than one because of that as the first will break as you land. Also, they need to reverse the controls when you use her temporal anchor. Instead of having to HOLD to cancel and tap to initiate a reward, it should be reversed, but you can't change that in settings. Once you hear the clicking sound you have to instantly press and hold otherwise you will reward and waste a few seconds.
This guide is great and in-depth, thank you. Would you ever consider making the min-maxed versions of those builds or are you just focusing on newer players for now?
Cool video, I rarely use protea. Now I'm a melee player so when I use protea is because of the gun turret and use epitaph to prime enemies with whatever melee. ❤
I got her a while ago but I didn't know her 4 did grouping! I was actually gonna subsume it for a grouping ability like pull or ensnare hahaha, glad to know it has a use!
I've been using Ensnare on her and it works pretty well imo. We have 3 config slots (6 if you buy 3 additional ones) so no harm in doing couple of different builds. 🙂
14:23 in fact it applies only 1 more heat proc, not twice. That's not a bug, it's intentional. It's just DE doing their wrong wording again. Instead of having 10 heat stacks doubled to 20 with the mod, you just have 11 heat procs
I love your double Temporal Augment build! However, I do think an alternative version could work as well and I would love to know your thoughts! I would personally switch out Primed Flow with Equilibrium, especially given Zenurik is your focus school of choice. And then use Umbral Intensify where Equilibrium originally was. I would also replace Molt Augmented with Arcane Ice Storm and use a weapon that can proc lots of cold status. Sure, it gives me 20% less Ability Strength (Ice Storm gives 40% instead of Molt Augmented's 60%), but then I would also gain an extra 40% Ability Duration, bringing myself from 183% to 223% Keep up the great content!

Good video and good primer to building protea. The next logical step anyone who actually likes protea and sees this will take, as you covered the basics. Is just how strong range is on her and how little str you need to actually slot into her kit. But people can figure that out for themselves.
