I watched your video this morning because I wanted something Halloween-y, so thanks! That so-called adaptation does sound strange. I might read Hallowe'en Party next October, despite its flaws, just because ... well, Halloween! It's weird - I don't read for other seasons/holidays like Christmas, but I love to read suspenseful, spooky stuff in the fall! Happy Halloween! Hiope you guys have fun. I am soooo missing when my kids were little (mid to late 20's now!!) - wow, the trick-or-treating stuff was just SO fun! They and their friends would be so incredibly excited as they got ready to go out. Enjoy!!

I'm the same way! Halloween is the only holiday I really read for!

I hadn't heard about the latest film. That's really strange! There is a Poirot novel that features a seance - Dumb Witness- but Halloween Party sounds nothing like the film they are making! I enjoyed Halloween Party, I think it's one of her darker books because it's a child who is murdered. I do enjoy the Sophie Hannah Poirot books as well.

I know...I kept checking all the news about the upcoming adaptation to make sure that it was really supposed to be an adaptation of this book and not another one, because IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE! Oh well, I guess we'll know in a year or so...

Have you seen the version with David Suchet in? KB is really bad as Poirot but David Suchet doesn’t just play Poirot, he is Poirot. 🎃❤️

I have seen the Suchet adaptation of Hallowe'en Party and thought it was very good, considering the source material!

It looks to me that it is about 10% Agatha Christie and 90% "new" content. I'm strangely okay with that, at least before having seen it. Hallowe'en Party is far from a strong Agatha Christie novel and I respect the attempt to make something out of it. Of course, I may change my mind once I see it!

@@awebofstories completely agree! The book was very weak and if they were going to deviate to get folks to read her works (hopefully) then this would be the one to do it with.

The novel at least had some promising elements. "A Haunting in Venice " was absolutely dreadful. The Suchet version was pretty good.

I thought the Suchet version was quite good, but I also really enjoyed A Haunting in Venice. Of course, I just accepted that it was a completely original property using Agatha Christie's characters and not an attempt to adapt Hallowe'en Party.
