This song was very deeply rooted in the American sentiment during the holidays when World War 2 was happening. Such uncertain times for so many families. Anytime I hear this song it reminds me of how much I have to be grateful for, my grandfather fought during WW2 and made it home to create a wonderful family. My husband did two deployments and made it home, now we have two beautiful children.
I remember visiting my grandma once during December, and putting this song on her stereo, and she started crying because it reminded her of her husband (grandpa) who tragically passed away years earlier to Parkinson’s Disease and it reminded her of him during his service in WW2. And now that she passed away 3 years ago, this song reminds me of her. Never forgotten Grandma (1932-2020)

After all these decades since The Second World War, some still wonder about relatives who were lost in that war. Likewise, for the countless numbers of civilians who lost loved ones during WWII. So, as an Air Force brat, this war & its brave airmen, marines, sailors, & soldiers, from all the Allied countries, are very dear to me. Remembrance Day is extremely special in my home. differently in this current reality such as the word Dilemna which always had a silent ‘n’ in it before, but according to this current reality and history it NEVER has had an ‘n’ despite millions remembering it that way.
It was absolutely “you can COUNT on me” in our past reality, but we are expected to believe that we are “misremembering”…that’s bullshit. Trust your own strong memory.
