This knife is amazing! I've been carrying it since the release, and it has taken everything I've thrown at it. If you are on the fence about this knife Buy It! The lander will not let you down.

I got it just this week and it has exceeded expectations. It's a super default-y knife with what feels like basically perfect execution and I don't know of another knife with open source hardware credentials. It's something that I wasn't all that excited about, but now it's done some damage to the "Baby Banter is the best first knife" recommendation I had for anyone who asked me what they should get as their first knife. And yes. A Ben Petersen knife unseated another Ben Petersen knife

Totally a missed opportunity to start the video with "WHATTTT IS UPPP GUYS?!" 😂
As always, thanks for the content and your consistency of said content. The lander seems like the perfect "1st EDC knife" for those interested in getting into the hobby. Really like the scale swapping capability as well.
    Have a good one boss🤙

I like what Ben is doing and love the idea of easily swappable scales and hardware. The only other company I can think of that makes it so easy to swap scales is TRM, with knives like the Atom, but their knives are at a much higher price point and can be difficult to get.

It's a nice knife. I have one and the Banter and Baby Banter. I'm glad Ben is off to a successful start and will be watching for more product in the future. One thing I have to mention, is thumb studs are not my favorite opening mechanism; they chew up my thumb, but this knife flips like a dream!

Here’s the thing about the Lander, this thing is absolutely genius. Not only is it a great knife for beginners and non-knife people, it’s a great knife to bring new people into the hobby. The design quality, and the price, combined with the customization possibilities make this appealing to more than just knife people. If he translates this same concept into more designs and in more sizes, he’s gonna be the most talked about guy in the community alongside Brian Winters. I’m excited as hell about this.
I want one in a different blade steel though, because I can’t help it 😂 14c28n or 154cm would be much appreciated lol.

They make the video and upload them, but dont allow them to be seen until the time they want. Its so they can upload a batch of videos then get a few days off.
So MC uploaded this video 11 days ago, but only let us see it now.

Nice little knife. TRM does the same thing with their scales, albeit theirs are not open source. That being said they have a lot of variety on their site. This is a really good idea and I hope other knife makers follow suite. I may have to wait for an upgraded version to pick this up. I like his designs but this doesn't have quite the "cuteness" factor of the stubbier looking Banter. Ben makes bland interesting somehow.

I like this knife and as usual I completely disagree with your concept of knives needing to be bigger. EDC means everyday carry and not heavy use. The 3 inch, 3 ounce rule is my way of looking at a folding knife.
That being said, I have quite a few knives not terribly unlike the Lander. However, the open source information for the scales which allow for 3D printing is very clever and deserves to be lauded.
I think that Ben has put some fun into pocket knives which I believe was his intent.
They should include extra T6 screws in the box if we are going to be changing around the scales.
All in all, this is innovative and gets my vote.

I've seen people comparing this to the Dozier, but I think this is close to the Parrot from QSP. Same materials with completely different execution. Every Lander video I watch convinces me to buy it. I'm deciding between the Baby Banter and the Lander, but I don't know if the forward finger choil is more important than the recessed liners/right to repair features on the lander. Something about the lines of the Lander are just very pleasing to me, compared to the short and chunky baby banter.

I own the baby banter and the fill size banter and tbh the baby banter is way smaller than I imagined. I have large-xl hands but I enjoy small knives that are easy to carry like the Crkt squid it’s a great cheap edc knife so I thought I would like the baby banter also but it is even smaller than the squid and the blade stalk is way thinner as well. Considering you can get a D2/g10 squid for about $35 seems like a bit of a better offer. The full size banter is awesome though.

If you can, make sure Ben sees it:
I've seen a lot of pocket check and general discussion videos where people would prefer banter over this, but every time I look at this knife, it cements itself really well into subconscious as just "a knife". It's really hard to make a legally distinct design that's sooo generic and basic in the best possible meaning of those words possible. Maybe the only possible change you could make to get it even more "just knife" kinda deal is FFG.
So yeah: Banter or Lander? For sure Lander, I like it's proportions and tasteful contouring of the handle. I'd definitely be picking one up if I ever see them pop anywhere in the stores here in Ukraine. What a neat little design, kudos for that!
Update a little further into the video: omg, it's even open source *Patrick Bateman business cards.scene"
