Incredible video, so cool place...I'm French, i love my country, i live nice thank god, but gotta love the US. You really find the place so cool and enjoyable. Great video
Nice video. I lived in the Bay Area 20 yrs ago. I don't miss the high cost of living and the horrible dating experiences. However, I do miss the bridges, the views, the Caldecott tunnel, the food. I could almost feel the breeze on the Bay Bridge. I drove that with the windows down many times year round.
Oh wow, you experienced a true Bay Area early summer evening...low morning clouds rolling over the hills, appearing as if they're dropping down high in the sky. Great ride; there aren't too many more rides like it in the US...pound for pound, one of the very upper tier urban freeway rides.
Thanks, I thought is was a great ride too, a tunnel, two major interchanges, the Bay Bridge and the City of San Francisco all in one neat package, heard to beat for sure! In the video before this (15-29), you could really see the clouds rolling in as it goes from SFO north and east, basically following this route from downtown.
I remember driving over the old bridge in the 50's as a kid. Mom pointed down to Treasure Island and talked about going to the World's Fair there in 1936.
Can't believe I missed this vid. San Francisco at dusk, in all it's foggy beauty. And I was there visiting my brother only a week before you made this video.
Thanks for the surprise video, Jim. And, thanks for using the footage of the Caldecott Tunnel 4th bore that you had told me you may get around to using someday.
Nice, very impressive, the lavish hill sides and mountain views are wonderful, at (6:05) nothing beats the city skyline when it came into view when you started crossing the Bay bridge towards San Francisco, Awesome!!
Thank you James, I think this is one of my better videos, it's an amazing drive in person, so much to see and such drastic changes in such a short distance.
Yes, it is most definitely included into my bunch of favorite videos of yours to watch over and over. Sorry, but I should have mentioned the awesome music selection you choose for the video, it is rocking without a doubt!! Fantastic Jim!!!!!!!! :-)
I can't even imagine how awesome it must have been, judging from your video, it is pretty impressive, there is no better way for me to see the US states and highway infrastructures but through your camera, and I must say it is breath taking! I thank GOD for what you do because I get extreme pleasure watching your videos, keep on trucking!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Splendid. I love the purple hue you managed to achieve on this one, and the James Camerson-"esque" false ending/"he's not dead yet" addition of extra footage :-D
All of a sudden, I feel like I need to watch that classinc old SNL skit! Killer video, Jim. That toll booth looks like it's big enough to have it's own zip code. I don't remember it being THAT large, but of course I haven't been through there in about 30 years, on my way to San Leandro where I experienced my first (small) Earthquake.
Thank you! yeah, that is a pretty expensive toll booth and plaza...part of me would like to get a small earthquake on film (assuming it would even show up), part of me is like no thank you.
San Francisco is one of the few American cities I haven't seen. I love California highways as they're so much like interstates that you can't tell the difference if you didn't see the route markers. Have you been up CA 99 from Sacramento to Bakersfield freewayjim?
My pleasure! I'll watch more tomorrow so I can learn more how to drive a car what I turn 15 next year of spring. I can't wait to drive a car for the very first time. I'm going to drive the Merc Mountaineer from 2002 and go to Sonic like I did with my grandfather.
Have you thought about doing a Canadian trip yet? Toronto/Montreal? You could go through Detroit again, film the Lodge(M10) and go through the tunnel ending in Canada. Also there is that wide freeway in Toronto that was the widest until the Katie in Houston now ties it.
Thinking and doing are two separate things, yes I've thought about it. I need to get a passport first, and I'd like to see the Hockey HOF too so maybe someday. In all honesty I enjoy going west more than anything.
One of the best videos in the bay area and feels like the 2015 season to the west was yesterday . Hope you find a plan for the 2017 trip ( Southeast , west etc. )
Hopefully, I don't have plans for this summer yet but I have some unused footage from years past, or some videos that have been blocked/muted on YT that could be re-worked, we'll see what happens.
Great video Jim! I think the new bay bridge looks fabulous, especially at night. That new tunnel tube looks nice too, looks like they were trying to imitate an art deco look. Fun fact about the MacArthur maze btw: When a bridge collapsed there in 2007 because of a Truck accident, it was rebuilt in just 26 (!) days. Here's a nice documentary on it: ua-cam.com/video/-TKjwblp1XI/v-deo.html How are you guys doing it Atlanta with that I-85 bridge collapse btw? Everyone taking MARTA now? ;)
Now that you have been to all parts of the USA, this summer you should go to some cities that you haven't filmed since 2012 or before, and/or some cities you haven't filmed at all.
Here's the thing, I ENJOY going out west beyond the filming, I don't enjoy the east or midwest as much, but honestly, I don't know what 2017 has in store and when travelling with someone I can't film 24/7 and have to do other things so basically I get what I can regardless of where I go.
VERY beautiful ride, Jim! Kinda curious though: do you EXTENSIVELY plan/time drives such as these with precision? Or was this one of those perfect accidents???
Thank you, sometimes we get a happy accident but more often than not I have a plan with regard to direction and time of day, this particular drive was planned, although I think I was a bit early as I had hoped to get the eastern span of the Bay Bridge with the lights on before dark, probably missed that by 10 minutes or so.
Crazy seeing an old tollbooth you have to stop at there - in Texas everything is wireless and if you drive through without a pass they'll find you and mail a bill to you xD
No, just some extra footage I felt like playing with, I have more I'll use eventually, but I have not shot a new season yet, have not even planned one to be honest.
Wonderful as always
This video is one of my favorites. I watch it all the time. It's definitely one of your best.
I'm glad you enjoy it, it's one of my favorites too, thank you :)
This video is definitely the "prescription" for relaxation! Nothing like a bay area sunset drive to give off relaxing vibes. Another wonderful video
Thank you very much Nash!
Freewayjim You're welcome :)
Incredible video, so cool place...I'm French, i love my country, i live nice thank god, but gotta love the US. You really find the place so cool and enjoyable. Great video
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it!
This is my daily commute...except it usually takes 60-90 minutes each way. Great vid!
Thank you, what an awesome looking commute just the same.
Nice video. I lived in the Bay Area 20 yrs ago. I don't miss the high cost of living and the horrible dating experiences. However, I do miss the bridges, the views, the Caldecott tunnel, the food. Thank you!
@@Freewayjim asxxxd 😅
Good Stuff, moved away from the Bay area over 15 years ago. I miss the Bay Area but I don't miss living there, expensive and traffic!
Great video! I love when you get a clear view of the city before the bridge!!
Thank you!

VA
FreewayBrent it wasn’t in summer it was in late spring
I loved this video and the music you used. Great video. 👍
Thank you, it's one of my favorites too!
I remember driving over the old bridge in the 50's as a kid. Mom pointed down to Treasure Island and talked about going to the World's Fair there in 1936.
Always nice to see some unseen footage from your trips, cant wait for the next one.
Thank you very much!
Can't believe I missed this vid. San Francisco at dusk, in all it's foggy beauty. And I was there visiting my brother only a week before you made this video.

Among your best highway videos ever!
Thank you very much!
Great video, I’ve always wanted to take a ride through the Bay Area and this was as close as I can get to the real thing!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

I really appreciate that thank you. The video before this is #15-29 if you care to see the opposite direction, which is also a very cool drive.
Nice little dig from the vault! Love those skies along with CA 24. That is one amazing descent!
Thank you! that is a neat little freeway for sure, the vault is not empty either :)
I would not be surprised about that!
Wow 5:32 I loved that part about the bay bridge which is from Oakland to San Francisco.
Yeah, also there's a tunnel at 2:50.
God bless you FreewayJim! These are the best videos to study to.
Thank you very much for that!
Love the video! Can't wait to see where you go this year!
Thanks, me either for that matter :)
Starting all over again ... excellent. I was looking forward to this "fresh start
This is one video from old, albeit unused footage, it is not an indicator for anything to come, sorry.
One of my favorite drives as a child (and a grown up). Pleasant Hill to SF... Such a great drive. :)
Splendid. I love the purple hue you managed to achieve on this one, and the James Camerson-"esque" false ending/"he's not dead yet" addition of extra footage :-D
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Lovely unseen footage. Many thanks for posting. Hope you are able to do a road trip this summer.
Thank you very much, I hope so too.
Worldwide Groove Corporation, on top of all. You really killed it with this vid.
Thank you very much!
Wow what a great ride in the Bay area. glad I finally had a chance to see this, great job!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
As always, absolutely wonderful!
Thank you very much!
Amazing highway!! What breathtaking views!! My favorite was probably around the 2:15 mark. Just spectacular!
That would be Moraga
When I used to live in the East bay as a child, whoever was driving me would take the Orinda exit there to get to El Sobrante :)
Fantastic video & great song too.
Thank you very much.
Oh so much to eat along that corridor. The flock got very hungry watching.
LOL, thanks
LOVE LOVE this video, I'm considering relocating to California next month.
Thank you!
Wow, what a nice ride! The music had me fooled for a minute, thought it was "Reaper"....thanks for the special, well done!!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, I thought that song was a pretty cool mash-up of two very different songs, it was fun to put together.
Beautiful highway!
Thank you!
Everytime I watch your videos, I learn that your music tastes are pretty diverse.
Thank you and I like to think so, I try to keep from getting locked into one particular genre.
God California's pretty.
Awesome Music & Great Traveling Video!!!
love your videos get to see places I never been too keep up the good work
Thank you!
This made me homesick. Everything is as familiar as the back of my hand, with the exception of the new part of the Bay Bridge.
Bellissimo questo filmato quasi in notturna. S. Francisco e meravigliosa. Grazie.

Pretty awesome. Love the bay bridge both the vintage and new portion.
Thank you
Amazing view, and the clouds are amazing!
Thank you!

Love that sky! Have you ever thought of shooting videos abroad as well? Like Canada, or maybe even Europe
Thanks, I may go to Canada someday, traveling to Europe to film is highly unlikely.
I've been on this freeway back in March of 2013!! This is really neat,
Thanks for watching!
My pleasure! I'll watch more tomorrow so I can learn more how to drive a car what I turn 15 next year of spring. I can't wait to drive a car for the very first time. I'm going to drive the Merc Mountaineer from 2002 and go to Sonic like I did with my grandfather.
Love the ride and music. I remember it from your Milwaukee video :D
Thank you, yes that was 5+ years ago, felt the song fit better in California anyway.
my second favorite bridge in the world. i like how the fog made the city as a big reveal as you when across
Thanks, sometimes we get lucky with the conditions.
What a great video!
Thank you very much!
Love the new Bay Bridge, would love to see it someday in person.
It's amazing in person, especially at night.
It looks like it's going to be a fantastic year.
I have no idea where I'm going yet.
Freewayjim Come to Canada. Our Canadian Dollar is pretty cheap at the moment. It's like you guys have 30% off on everything buyable.
Probably not anytime soon but someday I hope.
et aussi un grand merci pour ces musiques que l'on ne connais pas salutations
Fun drive and remix!
Thank you, this actually is not a remix, just footage I had not previously used.
thanks, I needed a freeway fix!
Thanks, glad I could help :)
another awesome video FWJ!
Thank you!

1:28 busted ! nice video Mr.Freeway Jim. As always.
Thank you!

Thank you very much, still uncertain as to where I'll go this summer.
You're back!
No, just some extra footage I felt like playing with, I have more I'll use eventually.
Freewayjim Ok. Great video regardless!

Great video again, realy enjoyed it - thank you :)
Thank you for watching!
Excellent video. Will you ever make any brand new videos?
Thank you very much!
Will you be making any brand new videos?
Hopefully, I don't have plans for this summer yet but I have some unused footage from years past, or some videos that have been blocked/muted on YT that could be re-worked, we'll see what happens.
Great. I enjoy these videos. I like to see scenery I haven't seen, and to also show people some of the drives i've had to endure. Like West Texas.
I appreciate you watching, thanks. Just keep in mind it takes a lot of time, money and planning to do these trips.
I’ve been on that route before I think and it’s nice
A great job!!! congratulations!!☺👍
Fantastic!
Thank you!
Great job!
Thanks
Accolades, muchisimas grascias, FWJ, keep up the great driving music and take the next turn to the Million Dollar Highway --- Hawkwind !
Thank you!
"We're taking the 4th bore" ahhh yes, it IS the nicest one after all.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍...... Boss , Thanks for the uploading !!
Thank you for watching
Freewayjim are you planning on driving through San Jose CA anytime soon to see SAP center? let me know.
No, I doubt it.
Great Video. As always. question. How is the rebuilding or i85 in Atlanta coming along?
Thanks, GDOT just said they expect to have it done by Mid-June, which would be very welcomed!
Word is reconstruction should be done by the end of June...(We Hope)
Nice video, by the way, can you do videos in the The Triangle area (Raleigh-Durham metro area) In North Carolina??
Thanks, if I get there with the camera and conditions allow it, but I doubt anytime soon.
Freewayjim okay
Downtown Oakland looked beautiful
you gotta comeback to Milwaukee it looks alot different now.
Great video Jim! I think the new bay bridge looks fabulous, especially at night. That new tunnel tube looks nice too, looks like they were trying to imitate an art deco look.

How are you guys doing it Atlanta with that I-85 bridge collapse btw? Everyone taking MARTA now? ;)
Thank you and yes I've seen that, impressive stuff!
Are you planning to go to Florida any time soon?
Maybe, I don't really know.
And as always Sunshine, H-way and green lights all the way.
Much appreciated!
if you go to San Diego, could you please drive the Silver Strand hwy that runs from Coronado to Imperial Beach?.
If I can work it in, yeah that might make for a nice video.
Freewayjim I hope you can. Safe traveling to you sir.
Thanks, hope to get back there someday.

The fog omg I love SF this made me want to visit
HOF pitcher Randy Johnson grew up in Walnut Creek.
VERY beautiful ride, Jim!
Kinda curious though: do you EXTENSIVELY plan/time drives such as these with precision? Or was this one of those perfect accidents???

Any plans for this year's roadtrip yet? You've been to all four corners at this point.
None yet, and I usually like to have things nailed down by now, just a very strange year so far.
Great video! You wake up early!
Thanks, I don't understand what you mean by "You wake up early".
I mean that you wake up early in the morning
That was a same music when i hear it while im watching on Milwaukee.
Yes I used that song in Milwaukee in 2011, I felt it worked better here.
Also i could see the old bridge of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge to the left. Anyone or can you see it?
Crazy seeing an old tollbooth you have to stop at there - in Texas everything is wireless and if you drive through without a pass they'll find you and mail a bill to you xD
Does this mean more videos coming soon?
No, just some extra footage I felt like playing with, I have more I'll use eventually, but I have not shot a new season yet, have not even planned one to be honest.
Are there any new videos on the way?
I might do a remix of an older, blocked video later this month, "might" being the key word.
Nice surprise on a Monday afternoon
Thanks for watching!
Also did you know in Sacramento is the home town of Pixar?
Do you travel a lot or do you get these videos from other people?
Neither. My son and I film everything on the road trips we take, usually once a year.
where do you live freewayjim
Metro Atlanta
Freewayjim I live in South Carolina
nice video
Thanks
Good, FWJ is back. I feared he was still stuck in traffic because of the I-85 fire.
LOL, Nah, this is just some extra footage I felt like playing with, I have more I'll use like this eventually.
Best mountain
one of my faves..is that Christopher Walken?
i got a fever too great film
Thank you very much!
well you covered all the corners of the USA and everthing in between. whats next?
I don't know, I doubt I'll cover all corners of the US though.
When are you going to film the West Gate Freeway in Melbourne, Australia?
