Crypt requires a "trusted party" to on ramp and off ramp for the most part.. kinda negates the purpose of crypto. Even lightening network is a "trusted party".

There should be a mechanism that should help prevent these scammers. Otherwise the only way for mass adoption is some sort of hybrid between crypto and traditonal financial systems
Temporary custody is the way.
In other words, you "check in" once a month with a bank, and that keeps your custody shared.
If the government or bank decides to steal your crypto, you simply wait out the month and the key is returned to an unshared status, and back under your full control.

To protect from scams people can take out insurance - if they get scammed they get a payout. No need to tamper with a real distributed block chain.
No way in hell should it be mandatory for a back door to be installed in order for people who got scammed to get their money back... That's coming from someone who lost $2k+ to scammers. I learned my lesson, at the end of the day, I signed that transaction and made the mistake.
Can you do an explanation of how it went down to better inform and share the knowledge? Would be much appreciated

htf can any scammer stay anonymous and actually cash out their illicit coins? I thought that was one of the main points of public, open, immutable blockchains. Theft over $5000 is a ticket for jail time. Should be made impossible to pull off by design.

You can tell which cryptos are scams just by looking at the all time chart. A LOT of top 50 cryptos are indeed rug pull scams.
Next the scam will be your buddies pretend to scam you so you can sue the platform/people they pretended to be. Scam within a scam SMH

Wrong. With the advent of ordinals, brc-20s, and sidechains like Stacks, Bitcoin is basically Ethereum now (but much slower) so it technically should fall into all the same legal frameworks as every other Coin/Token

The scam recovery/reversal system sounds unworkable. It would require every asset owner's assets to be frozen after EACH transaction...but BEFORE any scam or fraud is known. It would amount to a proactive seizure.
