Same thing happened to me and my initial $100 turned into $230. She told me to try withdrawing it and it worked and i transferred $230 to my bank! She said "I told you so" and told me to now put $20,000 in to make easy bigger money. I said nah, I'm happy with my $230 and cut her off my contact ever since

If someone came up to you in the street at random and starts talking to you, you would ignore them, why is it that people just cannot grasp the concept of ignoring unknown callers/emails and text messages. The UK is currently receiving a high number of what has become known as the Mandy scam, intentional wrong number scam, you just ignore them, replying confirms an active number and you’ll become swamped with them.

Something like this happened to a friend of mine, he. He felt so ashamed he told friends each a little part and no one the whole. It is upset him so much he committed suicide and has been devastating for all of us that he felt unable to talk to us about it. We need to stop using "met" and "relationship" for people we've never actually met in person. No in-person meeting = no meeting. No in-person relationship = no relationship. We need to establish this as a foundation. Romance scammers parasite from people with weak principles, boundaries and definitions.
Maybe they get to people who are very lonely and wanting a relationship? Or they pretend to have an opportunity to make money and the person is in financial need? It’s not appropriate to shift the blame to the victims which people only do to feel a sense of superiority above others and to convince themselves this could never happen to them. Good for them but it’s not accurate and misplaces where the blame belongs. Even if they don’t have strong principles, boundaries and definitions for some reason we would have no clue about doesn’t make them the bad person in the scenario. It’s the scammer thief liar who is the bad person taking advantage of someone’s vulnerabilities. I agree we shouldn’t call an online never met person or even a scammy IRL a person, gold digging, scamming assholes have been around long before the internet. This isn’t new and there are always victims who will fall for it for their individual reasons. But dissing the victim is pretty bad behavior in and of itself, and doesn’t make you better than anyone else.
I agree, but it happens because that's what we're able to get. The market's rough. There's really not much available out there, and so we're trying to take what we can. Similar to how the part time, piecemeal, gig economy now constitutes having a "job" these days. Glad I met my wife abroad, in person, 5 years ago. I feel for the young people these days.

Thanks for sharing! Hoping for some help: My crypto wallet on O K X holds some USDT TRX20, and I tknow the recovery phrase. {clean party soccer advance audit clean evil finish tonight involve whip action}..Could you suggest how can I sharing sending them to sending them?
I hope you won't think me a Pollyanna, but this might offer you some comfort: I in no way wish to downplay the devastating sense of loss and betrayal you must have experienced, but I have come across several people who at some point in their lives lost pretty much everything. My own late parents were holocaust surviving refugees and I know a family who were driven off their land in Zimbabwe and were forced to flee for their lives with nothing to the UK. I noticed in these people an extraordinary ability to savour the here-and-now. A cup of tea on a sunny balcony for them was as good as any beach-holiday in the Bahamas. They discovered that tiny pleasures and joys in the present were worth far more than potential future bonanzas. My late dad's catch-all maxim seemed to be: "Once you've lost everything you own, the smallest pleasures and the tiniest acts of kindness suddenly mean the world to you." I'm happy to say he led a long and happy life.
That's the same as me, I lost everything (well didn't 'lose' it, more I expended it all and found God) - I've never been happier, and more grateful, more present, fearless, non-worrying. Sometimes we need to lose all those layers to find the real you. If I were this person I'd just look forward to the version he now wants to be (in the future) and focus on that. I know that's incredibly easy to say, and it's something I'm now trying to do, but he needs to let go of that past. Be present, and I'm quietly confident that he'll make a lot more than he lost and will look back on this as some kind of blessing. Meanwhile he has helped others by sharing his story.
I LOVE when scammers hit me up. I try to take the dialogue as long as I can agreeing with what they want and pretend that that I have sent something or signed up for something or whatever it is that they want and then I fall silent but then contact them again and “try again” and just keep it going. I have disappeared for 3 months and contacted them back and ask them if the chance is still there or if they still need money and I restart the process. They eventually get mad which fuels me to do it all again with a new scammer.
I'm so sorry you went through this. I met an Asian (Chinese) woman online and we developed a very nice friendship. I was much older than her so our intention were platonic. We exchanged life stories, pictures, we encouraged each other through day to day trials. It took many weeks before "money" even came up. She explained to me exactly what you described and shared her success with short-term crypto investing. She wanted to teach me and she was a well spoken teacher. But I explained to her that a year earlier I had a bad experience losing small amount of money trusting a woman on-line and I now had a principle that I would not send any money. I said I would have to come & meet her and see this in person. Over a few weeks of trying to change my mind she stopped communicating. I actually missed her because we'd communicated so much. But I would not & could not violate that principle I had put in place a year earlier.
I know a lady who was scammed 3 times over the years, it's amazing to me that people are willing to give money to someone they have never met in person! No matter how good of a story they have...

Exactly. It’s astounding to me how these people who fall for these pig butchering scams are both simultaneously naive and narcissistic as fuck. @@JaimeMesChiens sorry now you know them even white guys are in it too they friend request and start with cripto coin investment I just blocked automatically
@@JaimeMesChiens Regardless where this originated from... the point is that more than likely the person running the scam is a guy, not a real woman. The guy simply stole a photo of a woman and posed as her for the scam. In some cases... the guy may have a female assistant in case a short phone call is needed to help convince the victim that this "is legit". Though that assistant is very unlikely to be the woman in the photo. These scams can be run from anywhere. I saw on another You Tube channel where this guy exposes scams... he traced his would be scammer to Nigeria.

Anyone who asks for money is a huge NO. Never give anyone money. What would they do without you? They would find a way to manage. Never be desperate. Better to be alone than to be lied to and taken advantage of. NEVER BE DESPERATE.
She didn’t ask him for money. He asked her about helping him with investing. He was never asked for money. He invested. He was the one who chose to invest with an online brokerage. Really bad decisions.
As soon as you said, “she presented herself as also someone who had a very strong business background” I knew exactly what this was….. I watch way too many catfished videos 😆
Hard to watch that show. There was one episode where a rather nice looking recently retired lady lost her home and her two million dollar savings. I mean damn, couldn't she see what was going on by at least the one million dollar mark ??
One must use discernment at all times. Never let your guard down. People will take advantage of you. It doesn't matter how nice they portray themselves to be.
Lots of truth here. At the same time I know I was skeptical and discerning. I tried to research this opportunity to see if it was a real thing. What's more, they are very good at their job and know how to build trust. So it is a little more nuanced than that. That's part of why I made this video, to help point the direction and share the clues so people know what to look out for as they are using their discernment to evaluate if something is the real deal or not...
@@shaithaimassage I'm so sorry this happened to you, but please don't gaslight yourself by saying you were discerning. The huge, enormous, screeching red flag right at the beginning was her refusing to talk or video. And her saying that writing helped her to see into someone's "soul". I think you're right and sharing this and seeing how people are reaching out to share their stories is helping to reveal that. You are very right at least for me. Speaking out has been a very helpful way to heal and turn the pain into helpful medicine. It's a process... and I thank you for sharing

Not many people are brave enough to talk about something like this, let alone publicly. Keeping things in the dark only benefits the scammers. Good on you for sharing your story. I hope you’re doing better these days.
www.ftc.gov/romancescams I might add that the scammer could most likely have been male (ergo, no actual two way relationship was ever really there) Cheers @shaithaimassage

Now you want total strangers to bail you out? How does anyone know your story is true? It’s only money. You’re young enough to earn it again. Never invest more than you’re willing to lose. First rule of investing. Never invest more than 3% of your portfolio into any single position. 2nd Rule if it’s too good to be true, it’s because it’s not true.
I will NEVER understand how people fall for these obviously fake romance scams. It’s so odd how some people will put their guard down for someone they never met and have no real life connection with and give them money - not small amounts of money, literally their life savings. And the scam techniques aren’t even that complex. The average person can spot them from miles away. People will bleed themselves dry for someone they’ve never seen, touched, hugged, kissed, nothing.
Very lonely men frustrated with western women dating culture. I can see how it'd be hard to understand for someone not in that position. But think about it objectively and it at least makes sense. I got taken for a few thousand from someone in the Philippines. Thankfully I was smart enough to end it before I lost more. I learned my lesson, got back on the horse, and eventually met and married a very good woman from Thailand. We are 11 years into marriage now.
Loneliness and desperation for a connection can blind you to obvious/minor red flags. I didn't and would've never sent this person or possibly people any money, but I wasted 4 months being emotionally attached to a random person I had never seen or heard. At first, I thought they were a catfish because of his limited online presence and the lack of me ever seeing him or hearing his voice. This caused suspicions and arguments about him being a catfish. It wasn't until the last week of us talking, that was the first time he hinted at money and said, "Let's not fight through a keyboard, buy me a ticket, I'll come there and we'll fight in person." That's when all of the alarm bells started going off in my head, and I realized some minor red flags throughout our 4 month interaction. A lot of these scammers will play the long game, build up a friendship, etc, over weeks, months, or even years before they hint at or outright ask for you to do something financially for them. Scammers like that are usually smart, strategic, and patient at their con/scam. My experience taught me about long con scammers, I always assumed most scams were short cons where, within the first or few messages, it would be very obvious it was a scam, and I'd spot them easily.

@@dogger37JCnone of these people are real women. These are Nigerian men behind fake pictures of women. The 1st 'Red Flag' was when he told about his 'dating story'. Never 'dated', never met. Sorry for all the pain, that's the only part that becomes real. A broken heart really is life changing.
He says he met her once, which does help add an extra level of credibility to the scam. That woman must be very busy travelling around meeting with potential victims though! She's probably also working as a money mule to move cash.
1.First thing is long distance dating doesn't work! 2. If you think they are to good to be true... It probably is! 3. Video chat them ASAP don't waste your time or money! DON'T BE GULLIABLE!!!
These days they are getting more smart and only an intelligent person can not fall prey. I have seen how they do video calls with stolen pictures and even change the voice to hide accent.
It is not always that simple. 1. Many long distance relationships work- every heard of 90 day fiance? My better half is not from the US- been together a very long time. She is an amazing woman. 2. Is often true but if you are too cynuical all your life, you will miss out on real opportunities and good people- if you put out a cynical vibration to the Universe. Trust- but yes, verify. If they are not legit, I can usually find out with 2-3 key, simple but smart questions in about as many minutes. 3. I agree with these tips. Smart. If they have excuses that last longer than a week, move on. See #2.

First huge red flag was that ”she” (probably a ”he” scammer) had excuses for not accepting a video conversation (not even a voice conversation). That means that the person don’t want to be seen on WhatsApp video, Skype or Zoom. Because on the other side is probably someone else than on the photos in the profile, most probably a man in Nigeria, Ghana or Russia.
No this particular scam is based from China or Hong Kong typically. It’s run by organized crime groups. They usually hire women to do this and often it is their real pictures but not always. Sometimes they will do voice or video calls. They usually use WhatsApp, WeChat, Telegram, or Line. The first red flag I can give to anyone is when they tell you that they do investments or crypto. Block them as soon as they tell you that. It’s usually early in the conversation.
You're supposed to be on there for dating purposes. If anyone starts talking about money, it's a scam. Also, people usually get taken because they're greedy.

For nine months in 2005 I searched for an ideal mate: healthy, humble, decent and kind. I found her, built our home, two businesses, a Retirement Tower, library and a vacant lot. Three boys blessed our life. Then, out of the blue, she told me by text that she wanted to be independent. I lost 13 years of my peak years of income. All of my retirement was taken. I will now work until age 75, and have learned that goodness and trust are tools that extract honest toil. Be careful, all. Yes, I am homeless. Yes, she attends Mass each week. Thank you, Jesus.

I really can't figure all of this out, bitcoin is quite confusing, well the BS is. I was so impatient to carry out necessary research but i really wanted to jump on the crypto trading and investment buzz. Unfortunately for me, I invested $542,000 GBP worth of bitcoin with a fraudulent company. I was happy to watch my account grow to $2.5m GBP within a couple of weeks. But i didn't realize i was dealing with a scam company, until i tried to make an attempt to withdraw. I made a withdrawal request, and noticed my account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason. I tried contacting customer support, but all to no avail. I needed my money back at all cost, because i could not afford to let it go. So i tried all possible means to make sure i recovered my scammed bitcoin. I did a lot of online search for help, and tried to see if there were other people who had any similar experience. I stumbled upon a cryptocurrency forum were a couple of people mentioned that they had been through the same process but were able to recover their lost cryptocurrency, funds with the help of *Scripttron* . So i file a report and he was able to help me get back all my lost funds within two weeks. That's even the case for some women IRL on dates nowadays. There's a video going around about this chick that asks to see your bank account in the 1st 5 min. on a date because she doesn't wanna waste any time in case you're broke. lol

@@bobjames6622 Nah man, they're just good Samaritans that spend all day on the Internet looking for people they can give free financial help to. Trust me bro. : p
Yep, my rule with online dating is until my mouth touches a vagina the person doesn’t actually exist

I very much appreciate that perspective and what you shared. I take that very much to heart. Thank you kindly Laurence
As long as you have your life , your health, your faith , you have everything that truly matters.

Sorry to hear this. What's even worse about these scams are that the victims most likely were actually corresponding with some guy from Nigeria. They often steal photos of real women and use that as the bait. You probably weren't even corresponding with a real woman.
Very true he was all alone charting and dating with a woman
Pig butchering scam is usually a Chinese script.
We (legal analysts) seldom see this scam coming from Nigeria.

Helps people see how much of an angel Adrian Notch is. I'm proud of you man. The Main reason you inspire me to help people.
The moral of the story is: Don’t be a sucker!
@@dogger37JCwhy not send him a donation to his “go fund me” account than. 😂

If they asked for money and your not married never give money only for dates !
It all comes down to trusting no one. How terribly sad. Devastating.
@@shaithaimassage I'm so sorry this happened to you, but please don't gaslight yourself by saying you were discerning. The huge, enormous, screeching red flag right at the beginning was her refusing to talk or video. And her saying that writing helped her to see into someone's "soul". Please watch lots of scam videos because you are now on many scammer's victim lists. You also need to work on yourself because you're still looking for free money with your GoFundMe.

@@shaithaimassageYou’re rationalizing. You haven’t taken responsibility for your own foolishness. That doesn’t bode well. It would be very sad to have something like this happen to you and not learn the REAL lesson.
I think that scams like this are more common than we realise. Most people would feel so much shame and embarrassment that they would keep it to themselves. However I think that speaking out helps the grieving process and internalising the pain must make it even worse.
I think you're right and sharing this and seeing how people are reaching out to share their stories is helping to reveal that. You are very right at least for me. Speaking out has been a very helpful way to heal and turn the pain into helpful medicine. It's a process... and I thank you for sharing

For many people online dating works, or so they say..For me, only real life relations ever worked..I met online few men, did not do me anything bad, on the contrary, tried to do me good, but it did not feel real...nothing beats real life meeting..sweet and real

It's not a scam, it's just asking an idiot for money and he's more than willing to do so due to unbelievable stupidity
They fall for them because they’re desperate.
The long game scammers usually juggle multiple prospects simultaneously, all at various stages of the con.

See #2.
