For people doing summaries on this chapter: help yourself. Pony and Johnny move to the park, and get jumped by Socs. David tries drowning Pony and Johnny stabs Bob, resulting in the Socs fleeing. After committing murder, they go to Buck Merill’s place to see Dally. After telling Dally what happened, he gives them a gun and 50 dollars. Afterwards, they go to a church to hide out (I think). They both fell asleep there. The End of that chapter
The only thing I could think about while listening to this was: "Did Johnny seriously shank Bob prison-style..?" My conclusions have led me to believe that is what went down.

Just wanted to say that if you want to listen to the audiobook of the outsiders it best to listen while play "Reflections by Toshifumi Hinata" in the background. it a really peaceful song and it sounds perfect with the narrator! trust me it changes the whole experience especially in chapter 4-5 Please hear me out if you are reading this i promise you its worth it because adding music in the background has really helped me understand the story more and like the story much better!!

Yes and No, Johnny was definitely justified in pulling a switchblade on a group of guys trying to beat up and quite possibly kill them if they didn’t fight back. It really isn’t justifiable to kill people without reason so I think it was reasonable for him to pull a weapon on the Socs and it may have just been bad luck that Bob ended up dying. Explain why the boys turned to Dally for help. In what ways did Dally help them? The boys probably turned to Dally for help because he was likely to be the most dependable for this situation. Dally had helped the two by providing them with a loaded gun, some money, and directions on where to go and what to do right when they get there. Ponyboy has always dreamed of going to the country. What was his reaction when he finally arrived there? His reaction towards finally being in the country wasn’t really much of a reaction as he was more focused on getting to the church with Johnny and he had thought about it and had decided he probably wouldn’t like it as much as he could because of the situation they’re in. I think to kill a mockingbird or whatever that book was has been removed from the school curriculum where I live
It's really heartbreaking that Ponyboy doesn't know that Darry loves him. I get that Darry is stressed out working two jobs and is the father figure of the family, but he shouldn't take it out on Ponyboy. It led to Ponyboy thinking Darry doesn't care. I feel like Darry's anger stems from fear of something bad happening to Ponyboy.
