He felt the call to arms and the duty of "the batman" but it was not who he was at the time. I agree with Alfred that Bruce Wayne can do a lot of good or better than Batman. If he gave the cops his tech I bet there wouldn’t be as much crime. I know the Bad guys would eventually steal his technology from the cops or bride them to give it to them. But, he could always put in failsafes and trackers when that happens. As a major Batman fan, this Batcave turned out to be one of the most disappointing. At the end of Begins (weird phrasing there), I remember thinking it could be so cool to see what a fully furnished and operational Batcave would look like in the more grounded Nolan take. In whatever crazy alternate reality they would ask my opinion on it, I would mandate that aside from vehicles, which came from Wayne Enterprises in this version, nothing can be built or installed in the cave where it would require more than two people. This bland set of cubes raising and lowering in Rises would clearly take a team of engineers, excavators, and construction people. Which would obviously blow Bruce Wayne's cover wide open! Aside from that, it's not even terribly imaginative on a visual level. I prefer The Batman where it's a disused subway terminal within the city. True, it's not the cave under the mansion we're all used to. But at least it's a fully built structure that Bruce and Alfred could've casually moved equipment and vehicles into with discretion.
So wait, if Bruce is wearing his Bat suit but isn't wearing the mask, he still speaks in his normal Bruce Wayne voice. But once he's got the mask on, he speaks in his Batman voice (where he sounds like he needs throat lozenges). Wonder what would happen if he spoke while putting on the mask. Would his voice suddenly transform from his Bruce Wayne voice into his Batman voice as he put the mask on while talking? Imagine if he had a Bat phone in The Dark Knight trilogy like in the Adam West series and we saw him as Bruce speak in his Batman voice. Or Batman speak on a normal phone in Bruce's voice. lol
@@AlexisSnyders Most people do not understand Batman‘s true nature. The Batmask is more than just a mask he puts on. It’s actually part or an extension of his psychological scarring. Bruce Wayne is the mask he wears. Batman is the psychological aftermath of watching his mother and father be murdered. In essence Bruce Wayne is actually more insane than the joker. It’s not just about the theatrics it’s about prevention his parents from being murdered. He replays it in his mind over and over again. By becoming the Batman he has the power to prevent the tragedy from happening over and over again in his mind. That’s how the Batman was born. So when you see Bruce Wayne that’s the mask. Batman is the real dark entity that came out of the tragedy. It’s his psychological coping mechanism. If you’re interested in learning more about this pick up the book called “Batman Knightfall”
