Thanks for watching this Mark's reviews and Tutorials video. Mark is not a trained mechanic. Just a car guy that loves to drive and work on cars. What I do here may not work on your car and I am not intending to give professional advice for you to work on your car. But if you do know a bit about cars then hopefully watching these videos will help you to sort out what is going on with your car. Cars are complex and dangerous things and not only can you be hurt working on them but you can also do serious and expensive damage to your car.

Thanks Mark. Very helpful. Doing mine today
And it was a success.
(BMW Doncaster in Melbourne, Australia quoted between $1200- 1500 AUD! ($800-$1000usd)
Thanks very much for your video. I will change my BMW controller.
What part number unit do you require? I have a tested unit here. MRT
From my research, there are two part numbers (55, 99). The 99 are newer and more powerful, thus will only work in compatible vehicles.
I have a 535i and water spilled on the idrive controller and since it’s been dead not responding. The idrive displays but I can’t use it. Will just replacing the idrive controller make it work, or is there water damage
That is a very Nostradamus question. But if as you say you spilt water on the controller and you lost function then that is definitely where I would start with the repair. Check your part number as per this video and swap out the controller.
Hopefully that will sort it for you. MRT
Hi Mark, excellent illustration video. 👌
You have mentioned a link where I can check or find if a module matches my car. (Could you provide it, please? ) I have a 335i m sport 2013 Active hybrid. And seeking to replace the idrive assembly module. Just as your video covered. Thanks

You're most welcome
Did this need any programming or just plug and play if you have the correct replacement part. Thanks Mark.
No programming was required the new just went in.
I still have a tested unit here. Check your part number to see what you need. MRT
Do i have to disconnect the battery when changing it
No I didn't
I think you can just take two hands on that shifter and yank it out
