You’ve come such a long way Lavinia! I see the gradual improvement in just a year.

I did aviclear myself early this year and my acne improved quite a bit! i noticed the results more 3-4 months after. my skin is much more manageable now. i also started skinpen for microneedling to help with my scarring. i also started to use blemish and age defense by skinceuticals at night and it keeps my blemishes at bay now!

In my personal experience no surface treatments will work when your acne comes from the inside, unfortunately. They can help temporarily though. Took me 10 years to get a treatment that works and it took one year of pills daily. Now dealing with side effects.

      What pills did you take??
I was on accutane but probably the dose was too low and acne came back
Then I’ve been on the pill for 3 years the skin was perfect. Came off of the pill and acne is coming back again

There are BBL lasers which work the same way, without freezing your skin or having to keep it wet, use alcohol, etc. You can also use a lidocaine gel prior to the treatment. I did them for a year with breaks over summer and I have hormonal cystic acne that's stubborn/resistant to treatment/deep. Im starting them back up in the fall. The pain sucks especially around my jawline for me, but it helps to get rid of the scarring, redness, and big inflamed spots. It's so stressful having to worry about your skin and not to mention, expensive! I pay for facials and peels when I can't go to laser treatments. I'm not clear by any means but it's less inflamed and less scarred. When I can get lasers consistently it definitely looks better. I think I just need to move by the beach though because the sun and saltwater cures everything! Thanks for sharing.

Bbl and aviclear are not even close to being the same. Bbl isn’t a laser, I wouldn’t suggest devices unless you are well versed on these technologies.

@Cheechdontplaythat perhaps a clarification would have been helpful. My derm said BBL uses intense light pulses to treat the skin. I've heard their office use the term laser treatment interchangeably with the BBL machine probably because lasers also use intense beams of light but it's a narrow wavelength vs BBL which uses broad. Regardless, I came here to offer anecdotal information that I had some success with this type of facial treatment after several years of suffering stubborn cystic acne.

Hey Lavinia, I also have moderate hormonal acne (I believe?) and did an Accure laser treatment (basically the same as Aviclear). I did four rounds and finished up maybe 5 months ago now. They gave me numbing cream tho! Which helped slightly, that stuff hurts and I cried during my last session. I had the same results as you. I was pretty disappointed, Accure was sold to me as the CURE for all my acne problems. I feel like I’m back at square one with no significant improvement. I’m bitting the bullet and going on Accutane in a month. Oh well.

Lavinia try tretinoin cream 0.1% usp I am a board certified derm here in Canada and this would be my recommendation for you. Congrats on your journey from Aviclear, please give this a try! I as a derm used to have acne aged 17-20 (20 is when I started using tretinoin) I now have no acne, and barely any pimples. Please do consider this.

I tried tretinoin 0,5% for 7 months, it did nothing for my acne...It got worse at first, lots of peeling, then no change, still the same. It´s very sad, nothing works. I also did Isotretinoin twice and it always returned.

I’m curious what your diet is like. I also suffer with hormonal acne and was on spironolactone and doxycycline for 4 years. Just got off 5 months ago and acne is coming back… I’m determined to heal my hormonal acne through my diet. Just started an anti inflammatory diet. I have hope this will heal me as long as I’m consistent. I’m also doing seed cycling for hormonal acne.

@@6611 you’re 100% correct. They really don’t care and the whole time I was on those pills I maybe saw my dermatologist like twice. They put you in those pills and forget about you. I truly believe people like us who suffer with hormonal acne our body is reacting to something we’re eating. That’s the only other thing I can think of. Ive spent thousands on skin care and nothing works. I’ve started an anti inflammatory diet, it’s really strict but if this means not suffering with the pain of acne and not being on meds I’ll take it. I’m also eating a lot of kimchi for my gut. I hope this helps. Maybe give the diet a try for a month or so and see how your body reacts. 😊

Hi Lavinia, I had severe acne in my cheeks and jaw area, my doctor arranged for me to do pico lazer treatment and 1 session was enough for me to have 80% of my acne removed. It is a very harsh and a little painful lazer, however my doctor said that with severe acne, the treatment needs to be harsh because those are the ones that will have a bigger effect on the skin
I did my last session 2 weeks ago and I still have acne but the pimples are smaller and not as red as they once were
I just wanted to let you know because I improved 80% so maybe it could do the same for you
Love your channel and I support your journey ❤
