Nissan was bought out by Tohatsu because I have a 5.5 hp nissan and takes me to there website but I must say Japanese made engines have that sound identical to a Yamaha mine flies like it's a 50 hp even the wake I create is unreal if someone didn't see the numbers they'd think hp rating is 10x
those 1 and 2 cylinder 4 strokes just have a terrible vibration ( especially on aluminum hulls)that turns your hand cherry-red at higher speeds. 2 strokes in my opinion are so much better because of the power to weight and smoothness. now once you get to a 3 cyl 4 stroke they are glass smooth because pistons are much more balanced. cheers!
Impressive for 6hp. Very reliable outboards. When I was young and had that fishing rig you couldn't tell me nothin. Easy to get back in the swamp when the river is full. When the Oconee and Ocmulgee drop out in the late summer. You can still launch your boat off the bank. FISHON
I need your help!! I have the same exact boat and motor. What hole do you have the thrust rod in?? I had it in the 3 and it was causing fuel problems and restarting
I've not had the other two. But the Tohatsu has been really good for me. I'd definitely recommend it. I have a 12' foot John boat and normally fish alone.
neither. a nice used 2 stroke 6 or 8hp in great shape for 1/3 the price, more torque and much smoother. plus you can get another one and keep it as a spare.
@@dustinj7650 i hear ya. Market is soft right now, but everyone thinks they have gold. Unbelievable as 90% have little to no service history. we sell every motor test run and receipts of parts used for the same price or less.
Speed is nice to get from point A to B but I’ve never caught a fish while running fast . Looks like a nice setup! Tight lines my friend!

Thanks for filming the surroundings, too many speed test focus on the the phone mph, but what we care about is how fast the boats moving, right?
There's a lot to be said for small, uncomplicated, "handy" size rigs. 🤠
Good vid. We have a flat back canoe and Tohatsu 6hp. It pushes it 15 mph with just adult male. Two adults is ab 11 mph
That's awesome. I'm happy with mine.
I have a 15.5 old town fat back canoe with 4 hp 4 stroke merc with a 6 hp carb and it’s about the same on speed.
Nice video. 14-16 mph is moving on a jon boat!
That’s pushing good for a 6hp! Plenty fast enough to run to a good fishing hole
Just finished watching wow yeah my Nissan identical

This motor on a 10 ft Marlon flat bottom is heaven...this motor has an optional alternator (60 watt).,but no electric start.
👍
That motor pushes that Jon real good.

That’s true! I plan to.
Is this a two or four stroke ?
@@wittelarry1 four
Look up 5.5 hp Nissan on here and watch one of the videos insane power for that rating think they under rated 🤣

Mines in the bottom hole. It’s as close as it can get to the boat
tohatsu, yamaha, honda, suzuki ? which one would you recommend? for 6 hp?
I've not had the other two. But the Tohatsu has been really good for me. I'd definitely recommend it. I have a 12' foot John boat and normally fish alone.
Tohatsu is thru hub exhaust and offers more prop sizes.

@@ct1762 assuming you can get a good used one for 33% the price of new. Where I live garbage outboards sell for 80-90% the price of new.
