The film managed to collect Rs. 100-crore on day 1 of its release.
Director Scott Derrickson (of Dr Strange) too was mesmerised by the scale and action in the film and tweeted about it.
Baahubali 2 was made at a budget of Rs. 250 crore. The climax scene alone costed approximately Rs. 30 crore.
Prabhas gave five years of his life for the Baahubali films. It is said that the shooting for the second film alone crossed over 300 days.
Baahubali 2 was the top trend for Google India in 2017
Baahubali 2 was the first Indian as well as non-English film to have been premiered at the Royal Albert Hall, United Kingdom where some of the biggest artistes of the world have performed.
To train for his role, Prabhas built a volleyball court in his house
Restaurant Rajwadu in Ahmedabad introduced a special dish ‘Baahubali thali’ in Ahmedabad.
Actor Rana Daggubati, who portrayed the role of Bhallal Deva, gained 33 kgs for this movie. His regime included eating 40 egg whites everyday.
A new language has been created for the Kalakeya’s tribe, called KiliKil language. It has 748 words with set 40 grammar rules.
Baahubali: The Beginning has set a Guinness World Record for the largest film poster ever at 50,000 sq ft in size. The poster, made by the team of the film was unveiled in Cochin, Kerala.
It took the cast and crew 109 days to shoot the war sequence in Bahubali: The Beginning. Since the waterfall sequence was one of the most important scenes in the film, the filmmaker decided to do extensive recce and it was shot at three different locations.
Several times, the cast and crew would shoot continuously for 24 hours. The scenes had been planned well before and yet execution took time. Most of the shoot happened in the Film City in Hyderabad
Shooting the climax alone in Baahubali: The Conclusion had reportedly cost a whopping Rs 30 crore!
Bahubali: The Beginning was released in 4 languages in India. Kalakeya, the warlord spoke in “Kiliki” in all the 4 versions. Madhan Karky created this language and wrote dialogues in Kiliki. It is not gibberish. Kiliki consists of 750 words and 40 grammar rules.
A 125 -foot statue of Ballaladeva (Rana Daggubati) was made. It was sculpted by 200 sculptors and weighed over 8000 kilograms. The team used 4 cranes to erect the statue.
Bahubali 2 will be the first Indian movie to be released in 4K HD format. A number of standard theatres are being upgraded to present Bahubali 2 in all its glory.
More than 800 technicians were involved in the making of Bahubali. A number of them were national award winners.
The first part boasts of 90% computer-generated imagery, which accounts for around 2500 VFX shots.
More than 50% of the CGI work was done by a VFX company in Hyderabad called Makuta. This company created the 1500 ft stunning waterfall, and all the elements of the Mahishmati kingdom. It took two years to create the virtual waterfall.
Several media reports claimed that the makers of Bahubali roped in the VFX team that worked for Jurassic World to do the CGI work for Bahubali, but the producer Shobu Yarlagadda rubbished the claims stating that it was a rumour. It is believed that the movies shared a few common technicians, but not the same team.
More than 17 VFX companies were involved in the visual work of the film. It included more than 600 VFX artists.
Prahbas and Ranu Daggubati followed a rigorous diet, gained weight, and sculpted their bodies to get into the skin of their characters. Anushka Shetty is also believed to have undergone body transformation, for the second part of Bahubali. It is to be noted that Anushka Shetty gained a lot of weight for the movie Inji Idupazzhagi/Size zero, and shed all the weight in a few months.
Bahubali 1 recorded the highest opening performance for an Indian film in the United States.
The team is planning to open a movie museum to showcase the weapons, props, and costumes used in the making of the film. If it happens, it would be India’s first movie museum.
Prabhas postponed his wedding to concentrate on Bahubali.
The pre-production of the first installment took about a year. No Indian movie has ever taken that much of time, for pre-production.
Prabhas did not take up other projects for 3 years, in order to exclusively put in his efforts for Bahubali 1.
Bahubali featured in BBC’s documentary on 100 Years of Indian Cinema, even before its release.
The team created over 20000 weapons for this movie. No other Indian movie has ever created or used these many weapons.
Rana Dagubbati put on 32 kilograms for Bahubali 1. He went from 88 kilograms to 120 kilograms, in order to look more muscular.
Karan Johar’s production company, Dharma Production is presenting the Hindi version of Bahubali 2. They have reportedly paid a hefty amount to acquire its theatrical rights. The last Bahubali outing in Hindi recorded a whopping income of 120 crores.
The pre-release business of Bahubali 2 has crossed around 500 crores.
The Satellite Rights of the Hindi version of Bahubali 2 has been obtained by Sony Tv for 51 crores, the highest amount ever paid for a dubbed movie. Star Vijay has bagged the satellites rights of the Tamil version.
The makers took every step to keep the details of the movie from being leaked, but a few pictures from the pre-climax shoot were leaked online.
Over 15,000 sketches were made, for Bahubali 1.
It is believed that S.S Rajamouli initially approached Hrithik Roshan, and John Abraham to play the role of Bahubali, and Ballala Deva, respectively, but the actors were busy at that time, and the director decided to make the movie with Prabhas and Rana Daggubati playing the lead roles.
Special body building equipment were presented to Prabhas by the makers. The equipment cost them 1.5 crores.
All the lead actors underwent intense sword training. Prabhas additionally learnt rock climbing. Prabhas and Rana were trained in martial arts by Vietnamese trainer Tuan.
2000 junior artists were involved in the making of the war scenes. Most of the artists were body builders.
The climax of the second installment cost 30 crores. It is almost double the cost of the climax of Bahubali 1.
The sets used in Bahubali were 45 ft tool, as opposed to the regular 25 ft sets.
Bahubali: The Beginning scored a number of awards, including the National Award for the best feature film.

44:13 Kattapa didn't kill bahubali because of the order he got. He himself said that he refuse to kill Bahubali and he is willing to get killed for disobeying the orders. He only killed Bahubali because he didn't want the queen mother to kill Bahubali since Bahubali whole heartedly love his mom. Being killed by his mom will completely shatter Bahubali. Kattappa didn't want the worst thing to happen to Bahubali so he chose the lesser evil difficult choice and killed Bahubali

Katappa Character is inspired by a character in Hindu scripture " Majabharat " - Called Bhishma Pitamah... He was really Loyal to the throne and his vows.. So much so that he stood silently even when great injustice were being done. He stood on the wrong side in the war just because he had sworn his loyalty to the throne.. He always knew what was wrong and what is right. his heart was with right ..but still kept his vows on the top.. He was later on killed. Mahabharat is a Hindu Scripture that has characters who are Grey.. They are not always fully right or fully wrong.. They are just humans.. and their character teach us how we should be and how we should not be..by applying our own judgements.
anyone who's wondering why he had to act cool with a weapon before dying, it's not because he wanted to act cool its because in ancient India anyone who was a Kshatriya(Ruling/warrior Clan) wasn't supposed to die without a weapon in their hand, else it's disgraceful for their identity.

Let's appreciate the captain of the Ship rajamouli. This man is insane bro. Throughout his film career his movies never failed. His ideas and film making are entirely different compare to other Indian directors. His storytelling in rrr and now bahubali 1 and bahubali 2 are cristell clear. Guys, movie was split such a way smartly by Rajamouli and team to build lot of curiosity among the audience, if you told the story straight up, 2nd one wouldn't be superhit..."Why Kattappa killed Bahubali?" was a national debate in India for almost 2 years and gathered lot of attention and built up curiosity for part 2, which became a big hit financially with huge footfalls.... So it worked well for the makers!

If you want to go through another crazy ride, then eega would be nice option.
As good as these movies of ss rajamouli seems, unfortunately, there are not many other movies from Telugu which i can proudly recommend to a foreigner.
Malayalam movies from India can traverse regional boundaries. They put lot of effort in writing. They usually are not big budgeted crazy movies, but are written very very well.
You can start with Ayyappanum Koshiyum if you want to try.
It is about conflict between too persons egos
There is a term in India called Dharma. Every one has their own dharma. Kattappa, bahubali, bhallaldeva. Those who did their dharma will live on to attain moksha. "Dharmo rakshit rakshitaha".

The point of all the people making the decisions they did is they were honest to their characters.. kattapa to his word and the word of his family, sivagami to her focus on nation's constitution and its foundations, devasena to logic and fairness, bahubali to duty and dedication to his land.. The point is one cannot make decisions from personal bias but from higher principles and the protagonsits are good cause they stick to those while the villains have none... thats the underlying idea of Indian 'good' and 'bad'.. I understand why westerners dont understand it
You guys should definitely watch SARDAAR UDDHAM next. Its not as extravagant as this movie but is one of the best film of all time. So do add that to your watchlist if possible.

Well it was not just because of Bhalladeva's orders, Queen Mother herself was manipulated into giving the order to Katappa to kill Bahubali, which we all know Katappa respected and obeyed dearly with his heart and loyalty. so to sum it up why he did killBahubali we have reasons :
- Queen Mother executed the order (Executive)
- Bhalladeva's orders (King)
- Slave to the throne/kingdom (NOT king/person)
- Absolute loyalty (character trait)
- Pledge given by his ancestors (historical/story aspect)
The place where it felt like Devasena was trying to provoke Bahubali against his mother and king, actually Devasena was trying to uphold her husband's dignity like Bahubali did for her. Bhalladeva was basically trying to strip Bahu of all his powers so that he was no better than a servant. And Sivagami was so upset & blinded by rage that she could not keep her promise to Bhalladeva, that she refused to see how her son was reducing Bahu to some slave status. That's why Devasena made such an arrogant statement to Queen mother to make her open her eyes!
Yeah, well. But her provocation backfired.
She was a good warrior, but her ignorance of politics or "statecraft" became the undoing of both her family and her kingdom.
If Bahu was always outspoken about the truth like her, he would have been easily framed for treason before they could even meet.

Finally watching the Epic conclusion of the greatest Indian film series made which is still the the Highest grossing Indian film. A film that created single entity called Indian cinema breaking language barriers. The man, the myth, the legend SS Rajamouli who made this series & RRR changed Indian cinema forever. Indian cinema is now referenced as Before Bahubali & After Bahubali because of the way it created economics & filmmaking style. 🙏
- I recommend you to watch previous SS Rajamouli’s film before Bahubali series called #Eega (2012) which means FLY an Avant garde film that is the finest example of what effective storytelling is.

insignia based on what you believe in i think, i am from an ex warlord/landlord family, men had earrings based on our age and position, that system ended long ago so i don't remember much of it, crystal teardrop earring with gold ball at the tip means you are second in power but if the person is young, there'll be difference in earring, gold sphere with triangle at the tip means you are first in position but shape'll change based on age and white horse will be the animal for the person at the top, it means nobility and pure.
