      Hi Michael, hoping you can give me some direction please. I'm wondering if the Lecithin will help improve a low ejection fraction. I just had a HIDA scan and am at 11%. Am I too far gone? Thanks in advance.

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  2 роки тому

      lecithin helps the gallbladder, I don't think it can correct a low heart ejection fraction. For heard disease, there are several doctors and holistic cardiologists on the LowCarbDownUnder UA-cam channel. They discuss how and when reversal of heart disease may be possible-it can be permanent damage but how we measure permanence in HD and diabetes and Alzheimer's is currently shoddy. Good luck question everyone and never give up or make decisions out of fear.

      @@TheHumanCondition hi again and appreciate your reply. I think you misunderstood. It’s my gallbladder that has a low ejection fraction not my heart :-)

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  2 роки тому +1

      Haha oops yes, I see now. GB can be healed much easier than the heart but it can take a while. Lecithin comes best from animal foods but also from plant based lecithin. We make it from choline and phosphatidyl-ethanolamine -from food- within our bodies. Tolerance of fats grows slowly when healing bile pathways and saturated fat and low carb is really important to balance.

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  3 місяці тому

      Great question. The ductwork in the liver and pancreas more than makes up for the volume of the missing gallbladder in most people, therefore production from these organs is the goal. This often requires reduced lectins and antinutrients, phytates and others, and increased bile support. This can include ox bile, egg lecithin and L-Taurine in my experience. slowly increasing saturated fats and organ meat pills can act as a bile stimulant too.

      The pH scale runs from 0-14 where low is acid, and 7 is water or neutral, and 14 is the most alkaline. Either end of the spectrum can burn skin and intestine membranes. Alkaline stool resembles lye, an alkaline floor and toilet cleaner that feels like and acid burn but is not acid.

      Well there is a standard bile ejection and blood tests, but an obscure test is total bile acids in blood. It was invented at Mayo and its a great indicator of poor liver function but its not specific for disease so no one uses it to prescribe drugs. There are stool tests fecal pancreatic elastase and chymotrypsin also.

I will give them a try because from specialist to specialist and no one can do anything- surgery eill lead to pancreatitis and 20 percent success rate and docs refuse to perform it on young women. Not the way to go- I'd prefer a natural approach first. We apparently have to learn to live with the pain but no medication, supplements etc suggested to try. It's terrible. I took your advice and bought those supplements although I'm still waiting for the magnesium malate and so just taking the carusos magnesium for now. Let me say.... 1 year of constant pain under my right rib has literally disappeared to maybe 10 percent pain. My regime:
      -sunflower lecithin liquid on empty stomach (NOW brand)
      -ox bile and vitamin d in morning (dr bergs)
      -carusos magnesium with dinner
      -taurine powder in water before bed (best sleep I have had in years)
      For anyone else suffering from sphincter of oddi dysfunction, this really works! Yes I will get some pain if I eat anything bad, but a spoon of sunflower lecithin just helps reduce the pain. I have no idea why!!!

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  2 роки тому +2

      Wow lots to discuss here thank you. Bile salts have been called neurotransmitters in scientific papers for years now, and should cross the blood brain barrier with beneficial results for most people. They are magically beneficial when produced in the normal way from the liver and pancreas. We make primary bile salts from cholesterol and lecithin, which are fats, and from proteins. Then we transform these into many complex and useful secondary bile salts or acids in the intestine if everything is happening normally. These signal many important processes for organs, immunity and brain functions. Humans and other omnivores respond readily to defensive plant signals such as lectins that seek to regulate their consumption and move the consumers to another feeding area to give them a break so they can regrow their leaves and other mass that was eaten. Lectins also can trigger autoimmunity depending on one's genetics and stress and toxic burden and nutrient levels.
      In my experience, if one can reduce plant antinutrients like lectins, and consume clean, high quality, well prepared nearly predigested animal organ meats, the animal organ meats contribute proteins, lecithin, saturated and omega 3 fats, and other perfect building blocks to make cholesterol and bile acids/salts. That is if the liver and pancreas are capable and have shed dietary lectins. Achieving this once the lectins have bound is not a very long process because the half life of protein molecules is 2-4 weeks, so once one stops lectin consumption they need several weeks for the remaining ones to fall off and decay and stop impeding organ function. If one can nudge the liver and pancreas and small intestine to secrete, one can recover. Fasting works well too, but only if one has enough water, trace minerals and omega 3 fats in the body. I may sound like a broken record, but the clinical reasoning for many diverse conditions is the same at the root cause level. This is because of biochemical and genetic individuality and uniqueness. Similar exposure to lectins, insulin resistance, chronic heavy metal, mold and synthetic chemical toxicity, mineral and omega 3 and saturated fat deficits, sleep disorders all drive totally different symptoms in different people.
      If tools like supplemented fasting, lectin and carb reduced diets, animal nose to tail eating, and small meal size are used, more people will get better. Please let us know how you fare.

      I am a fan of bile acids like TUDCA and they can really help. The diet must change too because it was likely the cause of the original bile imbalance. Vegan support could include a GMO free soy or sunflower lecithin product, as bile in 95% lecithin. Thanks for the comment!

    • @MisterDramatic
      @MisterDramatic Рік тому +2

      @The Human Condition thank you for responding! I am also taking sunflower lecithin , HCI, enzymes, etc (no gallbladder here).
      However, 2 sides of research has given me the impression that lecithin is only the "liquid " part of bile as plasma is to blood; and the other side is that the term "bile" is sometimes mistakingly interchanged with "bile salts" or "bile acids" itself.
      I'm now leaning more towards bile, bile acids, and bile salts as 3 separate components.
      My experience/ self experimentation has resulted with lecithin not being sufficient on its own for proper bile function for fat breakdown and digestion. Therefore, I added TUDCA and taurine. Reluctantly, ox bile was later added as a last resort.
      Ultimately, my question is:
      Is it possible for a body to have sufficient bile (the liquid part) yet insufficient bile salts? Does lecithin have any bile salt in it?

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  Рік тому +1

      Your reasoning is excellent! While bile is 95 % lecithin, the salts are more important. We can take primary bile acids (salts) orally, but we must convert them to secondary in our gut. If we are not successful, it may be due to dysbiosis, lectins and antinutrients, insulin resistance, high omega 6:3 fat ratio, seed oils, petroleum based food additives, pesticides, heavy metals, deficits of trace minerals, lack of saturated fats and their vitamins (ADEK2), or even brain problems with the Vagus nerve from concussion, PTSD or other brain injury or emotional trauma that affects the descending control of the gut. Further, dental amalgam or festering root canals or other periodontic problems can drive gut dysbiosis. LEcithin has no bile salt, one can take primary bile acids, and then the investigation begins when it comes to the self-transformation of primary to secondary bile acids in the gut. Let us know what happens!

    • @TheHumanCondition

      You have a compassionate doctor if they discuss stress and don't rush to drugs. Stress plays a big role in digestive issues. Consider H pylori breath testing if ulcers are on the table. Regarding stress, my favorite methods include meditation, neurofeedback, walking, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, hot baths, and the herbs passionflower, German chamomile, ashwagandha, rhodiola and magnesium. L theanine (not threonine) an amino acid. Consider a sleep monitor like a Fitbit or something that tracks deep and REM sleep. Don't forget Zinc lozenges with stomach issues. Obviously this is a resource list and not a prescription or treatment, you will have to pick and choose. Good luck and ell us what happens with you.

      I have seen this, and I have seen this reversed when lectins and fiber are removed. The problem is often one of double causation for the same organ-for example, if we cut lectins and fiber but fail to address for example a concussion or TBI, it will appear as though the mechanism of antigenic foods fails when it does not go far enough. Does this make sense? We need to assess stomach acid, total serum bile acids, fecal fat and fecal elastase at least to assess these types of cases. Zinc and copper may be relevant too.

    • @TheHumanCondition

      This is not personal medical advice, but general critical thinking: some people with both low HCL and bile require more substrate-for example, zinc for 3 weeks or longer, lecithin, better sleep, and blood sugar balancing. in some, food lectins may be a problem that has to be eliminated, and in still others h-pylori testing is needed. I have 2 gallstones dicovered by accident, I had never got a symptom of pain in the right part or something like that, but I have gas and bloathing problems especially at night after 2-3 hours of eating, can I take the lechitin and the ox bile if I have gallstones? I probably got the gallstones when I was a teenager because I ate like crap, now I'm 23 and a gym rat planning to compete as a bodybuilder soon, my diet it's very healthy and calculated. My doctors told me nothing about my condition so I'm on a youtube marathon about the topic now.

      consider magnesium malate and other bile support, it may take a while but it could be possible to dissolve gallstones if they are not too dense. Be careful with gallbladder cleanses as the stones can get stuck and require emergency surgery.

    Hey doc, what about someone who does have a gallbladder?

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  3 роки тому +1

      I'm assuming you meant to type "does not have a gallbladder". Luckily, the liver and pancreas ducts are large enough that they can store a fair amount of bile after gall bladder removal. So the lifestyle and dietary advice to support bile for those with a gallbladder and those without are just about the same. We look for symptoms to guide tolerance of dietary regimens and that may be a bit less aggressive, but those without a gallbladder can make plenty of bile on demand generally, once they address the issues that led to their surgery in the first place. That often means challenging the dietary guidelines currently in place using lab tests. But that's another issue...

      @@TheHumanCondition I am also without a gall bladder due to whipple 7 months ago ... so what would you suggest? Is this what is contributing to shorter stool length?
      Small meals in order to compensate for the lack of bile? But given that bile is for breakdown of fats, wouldn't this apply only to meals where there is a large amount of fat to be digested?

      I like to run down a list of possibilities with any symptom-such as:
      is it low stomach acid? low zinc? reaction to histamine foods? reaction to lectins in foods? carb ratio is too high creating SIBO bloating in the small intestine or in the stomach? Is there a mineral deficit (magnesium or sodium) leading to bloat? Is the bloat air bloat or fluid bloating? Is the colon palpably full of waste or is it clear? Does the small intestine yield tympani sounds when percussed (hollow air sounds)? Good luck and tell us what happens.

      I would not want to get between you and your doctor. I will say that when I run into this problem where an intervention does not work as desired, I change strategy and try to remove something instead if adding something. Look for offending foods that could be triggering the original problems-usually carbs in the case of H-pylori and gas/bloating. Also consider SIBO diets such as reduced fibers and even restricted probiotics-as some actually feed dysbiosis or bad bacteria.

      I'm not allowed to give specific advice, so I would consider getting a doctor and investigating via testing and history and examination: potential parasites, chronic infections, chronic pancreatitis, hepatitis screening, ultrasound or x-ray of abdomen, upper GI study or other investigations. When I don't get answers I switch doctors.

    Should gallstones be flushed? Is there a way to just melt it?

    • @TheHumanCondition
      @TheHumanCondition  3 роки тому +3

      Normally we dissolve cholesterol stones and salt crystals in the gallbladder naturally with our own bile, and over time we have the capacity to dissolve them with healthy eating. The danger of trying to flush the gallbladder is that rarely a stone can lodge in a duct due to its large size, or worse, a sharp one can cut into the tissue. If these blockages happen, it can be a medical emergency. So people that want to do a do it yourself GB flush often have an ultrasound exam first to be safe. I always advocate for health freedom, as long as the person understands the risks before they try something. Just being alive in a body is a risk every single day, and we can learn a lot by trying things on ourselves. Best to study others who have done what you want to do a lot and see what mistakes they made so we can try to avoid them. There are several formulas for gallbladder flushes, and we all have to see how our body responds because its different for everyone. These involve oil, vinegar, malic acid, apple juice, and many other choices of ingredients. When in doubt I go slow and don't try for the dramatic fast flushes, and seek a skilled clinician for personal guidance.
