Es koston 1 with air bubble are the best skate shoes ever made. I had white kostons with gum sole and without bubble first... Bubble came later on same model and also shoe was diffrent material
Gotta disagre with you. I think.that shoe would have to be the half cab but id have Koston 1 s and Sal23 very firmly in that 2 spot

Man The Creager’s.. I think it was a red dragon, or some type of bearing sponsor video with him destroying table tops, and white ledges in those. Those shoes looked dope in motion.
Please talk about skate shoes as much as possible. Get some people who were heavly involed in the design and talk about it. I think a lot of people are interested in that kind of stuff.
I love when Steezus got his own segments for that. Hoping kelly would help him for shoe and tell too!
And also, hoping they add some insights about non-skate shoes on skate part. Like Stevie with Air Max 95 or pre-skateboarding era Adidas.

I almost bought a pair of used ones online but they were pretty crusty. Would buy if they retroed these for sure. Come on Kelly make it happen!

Steezus made a mistake about which skate shoes had the first air bag, it was the éS Aura Air, Kostons came after
@Source kelly I had the Aura O2s, you could see the air bag under the insole. They were marketed as the first shoes with an air system
I had the Koston 1's and the Quattros with the air bubble. I popped the airbubble on puropse on the Quattros to make them feel squishy lol. I think they may have been the 3rd?? pair with them?

Honestly? In my sk8 hay day, I would rip through shoes so quick? I never really had a "Go To" shoe. My shoes were whatever were on sale at Big 5. At that time (mid to late 80's) you could pick up Air Jordans, Puma's, and such for like $20-$25 a pair. That's what we did. Clothes wise? I was a Van's and Jimmy'z guy. Growing up in SoCal, these were local companies that supported Skaters in a time that no one else did. Air Walk, and Vision were coming out, but never really cared for their shoes, or clothes.
16:52 I remember going from Canada to the US because Pac Sun the skate shop would have crazy blowout sales for $20 circas, would be $80-90 at home so I'd get 2-3 pairs.. was the best
éS Koston 1 and Muska 1 need to be repro. It's the all time best skate shoes ever. Muska can jump into éS right now because he's not on Supra anymore.
Put someone else name on it or just leave it blank for the names or just rename the shoes because people exactly know what it is.
It will be funny when you guys name it others while the people on the scene actually know it's a Koston 1 and a Muska 1.
Koston 1 and Muska 1 is a legendary pro shoes of all time.
I saw Koston skating the eS K8 back in the day. It was a sample pair. Then he left the team and the shoe was never released to the public.

Good to see this channel repping skater owned [shoe] brands like éS (Sole Tech). So tired of all these corporate brands trying to buy their way in to skateboarding. The Koston 1 is one of the most legendary shoes, everyone skated these back in the day. Between éS and Emerica, those were the shoes.

I had them and I wasn’t even a skateboarder I played hockey. They were so dope though.
Hits so different now that they’ve actually rereleased them. Having both colorways is still surreal. Along with the “Fulfill The Dream” LE glow in the dark deck and the blue rising sun. I got guilty on vhs but it was misdilivered by the sender on Etsy. I’ll take what I got though. Dream fulfilled.

In the 90s we were scoring Adidas shelltoes for 12 bucks at Big 5......Pumas were harder to find and more expensive but we found a gang of them also in awesome color ways........skateboarding is the best.
Man when is Tony hawk going to bring back Hawk footwear and adio footwear these new shoes like Nike new balance and Adidas are not skateboarding shoes they even look like crap I rather have the old school puffy shoe any day over these new shoes
Muska was definitely the first $100 skate shoe. Koston 1’s we’re the GOAT.

I just got the rerelease ks1s and man they honestly feel like trash…I’m so disappointed I ordered the black and blue emerica og-1s and they feel like a real shoe so I got both. I rly want the blk gum but for real they feel so cheap compared to the lakais or the old es
None of these es retros are real OG retros with Soletech (es, emerica, etnies.) Same with Lakai. The sole tooling are completely different, missing air bubbles and slimmed down midsoles which completely change the profile and do the originals no justice. Axion with Guy Marianos 1s, DC with their entire reserve OG re releases and soon to be Osiris with the Graff Chad Knights are the only ones doing retros right. I think goldeneracollector said Smolik O.D.S. are on the way too from Osiris. If Axion can rerelease the Guy 1s sans his name, but full original tooling with amazing packaging, so should Soletech. The Koston 1s arent the Koston 1s without the original G2 sole or the system 02 sole, same with the rest of the es retros. OG heads know. Pierre Andre or Don Brown are likely just being cheap, just ask any former Soletech pro about the "your shoe is coming bro stories."

Had a surgery on my foot in 97 and bought a pair of Koston 1's in Grey and royal blue. I got them bigger on account my left foot swollen! Broke them in walking around and healing then skated the shit out of them!
at my local skateshop it was a row of es kostons1, emerica renolds1, circa Appleyard 1s, D3s, and the DC dyrdrek diamond. there were others but I think those I listed were over flooded, I remember alot of the dipped erik elingtons and the square toe kirtcharts as well, o ya who can forget the etnies 23, and accels. those were all hot shoes around the late 90s early 2000s.
I wish skates shoe culture never changed/ died out. Glad to see a reemergence. Hopefully we see some new styles, as much as I love the classics.

I got bless to skate with Tom Penny in Cannes France and I saw this shoes for the first time on him at that time, the white and gum color one and I got so stock on it and got a pair the next day. Little story on that day Tom was skating with a roll ankle is left foot was so blue that he was skating all day switch and practicing is switch3flip and day. Awesome memories

Original koston 1 DIDN’T have the air bubble. That came a few years later
The original Koston 1 had the air bubble (released in 1997). The EK-01 was released a few years later by eS and had no air bubble.

By far my favorite shoe of all time. Hilarious... First real skate shoe I ever bought too, from my first CCS catalog loaded with sharpie marks. Light Gray/white, blue with bright yellow. So sick wish I had them now. Time for a reboot. I’m sure this is a super common favorite of most skaters who started at that time. 38 in the house
