Wow. That was absolutely amazing. The more I hear about Rebbe’s (respect) thoughts and wisdom the more I’m left feeling astonished. Not only that but always simultaneously surprised and somehow “of course”. Really and truly amazing.

Brilliant and low key. Never thought I'd use those adjectives in the same sentence.

Baruch Hashem for giving us the Rebbe, of righteous memory, to learn from and to be inspired by his devotion to the Aibishter, to the Jewish people, to Israel and to humanity.

I like how he tells this story. He is focused on his woman and how she felt and he is focused on the Rebbe and what he said. This man is not self-obsessed in the least. He mostly leaves the details of himself out of it. He is the good student because he cares for others. He has likely made very good progress in this lifetime.

The great french author Antoine de Saint-Exupery essentially said the same thing when he wrote: "Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but of looking outward together in the same direction."

I’m a non-Jewish Australian atheist and I was most impressed with this man’s account; and especially the Rebbe’s wise counsel.

My husband is religious. I'm not. The key is I'm not "anti" religion as so many ppl seem to be these days.

Thank you! You answered a question i hadnt realized i had but was troubling me. The rebbe answered it so clearly. This should be taught to those looking to get married. To look at what they should really be looking for

I’m not Jewish but this is great advice. As my Irish grandma always said, “Puppy love leads to a dog’s life.” IOW, emotions blind the mind and soul. I’d sooner remain single than marry the wrong man. My sister made this mistake and had to go to all the divorce proceedings, etc. It’s such a lot of trouble and stress. Her ex isn’t a bad man, he was just the wrong man and she, the wrong woman. They have two wonderful young men together and are now both happily remarried to their other halves.

    • @Y1836Y
      @Y1836Y Рік тому

There are no mistakes. G-d has a plan. For some reason, unknown to each of them, they were to marry. Probably to bring their sons into the world. They're needed by G-d for a mission.

Great, sound advise! You either understand it immediately when you are blessed to get it, or learn by going thru your own personal trials and tribulations only to conclude these valuable lessons could have been acknowledged early on in life. Some decide this is an unmeaningful characteristic and decisions will bring on your consequences. This is called freedom and the free choices every person must have to live in a civilized society whose purpose is to enhance with dignity the standard of living. This is the genuine reality of the American people. All these other decisions that do not bring individual freedom, peace, and the fair treatment of others is not a commitment to the Constitution. Anything less than the Constitutional rights of all, cannot survive in America because it is a criminal violation. For those who put worldly values such as power and money ahead of the Constitution is very confused about America and this confusion can be either be an unfortunate, minor issue or an outright personality defect, or crime. The individual has the right to choose, but not the right to impose on others.

One of the most brilliant men in modern times, the Rebbe. Marriage is tough enough and it is important for two people in love to be married. Very important. But a religious person and a non-religious person is almost like two people from different religions being married. Why put your marriage under this amount of stress. Why do you think, below, that the divorce rate is over 50% in this country and hurting so many people and kids? 1) intermarriage 2) lack of commitment 3) outward influences. 4) people give up to easily. Both people in this story ended up happy.

I completely disagree with your intial point. 2 people do not need to be in love to be married. Love develops over time

It has always been part of the liberal, antisemitic agenda to destroy America in any way possible.
Destroying traditional values and tesditional marriage has always been and still is, one of their main targets.
That is why hollywood has always promoted divorce and other destructive ideas in movies and on TV.

I agree with your basic statement but I take strong objection as a Reform (now/Conservative Jew in presumably describing such Jews, who comprise 85% of American Jewry, as "non religious." This is an offensive Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox canard.
To me, a non-religious person is one who does not BELIEVE in God and/or the basic tenets of their faith--it it is not principally determined by the degree of observance and I hold that view as pertaining to all of the 3 Abrahamic faiths. People like myself consider ourselves to be religious..with varying degree of ritual observance. We are insulted by our Orthodox brethren when they assert that what and how we worship is not the Jewish religion -- no, it is not THEIR RELIGION which we do not find to be our pathway to God.

You are right, when 2 people use the same addictive drug they develop the same addiction.
Why would anyone want FAITH when you can have a RITUAL addict?
