John Cryer is totally under appreciated in this show. He definitely gifted us with some great physical comedy. He was a great foil to Charlie's character
Who said he is under appreciated. In any tv shows (im from India) few characters are made to chose this kind so that story appear well balanced. And people like everyone, but only the media highlights only few. I love Alan's character because of his resilient nature.
i get why people didnt watch the show after charlie. but they had good jokes and moments with Kutcher. just a warning not the season finally on season 12. they could do better ending

Jon Cryer is great. Very classy. He took the high-road on this one, and seems like a genuinely nice guy. He & Charlie Sheen had a Special chemistry on "Two and a Half Men" - those 2 were hysterical together.
The writing on 2 1/2 men was the best, by far, of any TV shows I’ve watched. The actors were fabulous. Too bad we’ll never have Berta again; she was a treasure, and funny!
Sheen was incredible, but he had a meltdown...and Cryer was a pro who carried on. Krutcher took over the role and gave it his best, like a true professional. We have this image of actors being the almost temperamental children, but nothing is further from the truth. The most successful are the easiest to work with, and make the least demands. Pros know when to say yes, and when to say no... Sheen had issues, that made the artistic ensemble of TAHM impossible to function. I loved by the portrayal of Charlie Harper by Sheen, but his problems got the better of him. To blame the other and newer cast members is not fair.
Completely agree. People get mad at Ashton, but it was Charlie's unprofessional behavior that caused the show to be star Ashton in the first place, who simply did his job.
It was basically a completely different show when Kutcher came aboard. It really wasn't "Two and a Half Men" it was more of just a buddy show since Angus was a much smaller part of the show. It was closer to a spin off with Cryer than a continuation. And yeah Sheen is to blame. If people are mad the show didn't continue on like it did, blame him for his behavior that led to them having to part ways. The choice was never Kutcher or Sheen. It was Kutcher or another actor like Hugh Grant. Sheen was done by then.

Everyone here is praising Chatlie for his performance in the show which undoubtedly was the best but I think without the whole cast the show would have been nothing. From herb to judith and Evelyn the whole cast was outstanding.

Just to be fair, Charlie has cleaned himself up. I hope he stays that way. He did apologize for the outrageous behavior that led to his firing, even admitted he deserved it. When people lose control of themselves, as he did, there is no limit to what they'll do. But when they find themselves again, show regret & true remorse, we must forgive. I do believe Charlie regrets his actions from that time. The recent passing of Conchata Ferrell, both Charlie & Jon tweeted about what a wonderful person she was. How much they love her, & will miss her. As we all will. But I do hope these guys can make peace, if they haven't already. They have great chemistry together. Best wishes to them both.
I love his character Alan in the show. I think him and Sheen had a great chemistry in their work. I hope they get to work together again. I love these two.

Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen worked on Platoon from the 80s and they also did movies in the 90s such as Hot Shots! 1 and 2 etc together. These 2 fellas are good friends for sure.
My favorite show. Jon’s character was the heart of the show imo but everyone was perfectly cast. My favorite part is when he became Jeff Strongman to try to win Lindsay back. I hope they work together again someday.

I’m watching season 1-12 now in the uk. Not as big over here but I think the show is so clever. It’s like watching a light hearted play.
