Caleb's (Liam O'Brian's) journey from the first episode to the last is perhaps my favourite; for all the layers that get peeled back over the course of the campaign as The Mighty Nein. Everyone else has their stand out moments too, of course, but nothing quite equates to noticing the daggers Caleb shoots at Fjord when he first mentions wanting to go to Soltrice (and we had no idea of the significance of what that meant to Caleb, but you can see it in his eyes.) By the time you find out what Caleb's past contains, and what has been planning all this time for his future or why he has that spectral cat follow him round everywhere, you too will be won over by the greatest character in The Mighty Nein. That being said. I have the softest spot in my heart for Caduceus and always will.
Getting to this a bit late since I was just recommended your reaction to Legends of Vox Machina and totally binged them, love the reactions! Going to definitely watch your reactions to Campaign 2! I love the Mighty Nein! Welcome to the community!
You NEED to watch how this song was made, it's called "your turn to roll" they did a short behind the scenes of the making of it, no spoiler, but when you find out who wrote this and who performed it, you'll go nuts
There's several Easter eggs in the final villain shot, to the boss monsters in campaign 1, including a beholder from the very first arc of VM, Thordak is big Red, and there's a few more but it'd be a spoiler to what's coming
So there's a few layers to the chanting near the start. What you'll hear the most throughout the song is "Role! Critical! Role! Critical!" In the intro bit, after a couple repeats of that (when the monk shows up on screen), you'll hear a semi-whispery "Vox Machina! Vox Machina!" Then when the goblin shows up you hear "Mighty Mighty Nein! Mighty Mighty Nein" And then of course you hear "Roll the dice! Roll the dice" being sung XD Also love your reaction to our favorite blue tiefling. She's easily the most lovable character in the group (and that's saying a lot, I love them all!), and you're right, she's got some really iconic moments that show just how powerful she can be.
Mighty Nein (9) members: Caleb - Human Wizard Nott - Goblin Rouge Jester - Tiefling Cleric Fjord - Halforc Warlock Beau - Human Monk Mollymauk - Tiefling Bloodhunter Yasha - Aasimar Barbarian Caduceus - Firbolg Cleric Essek - Drow Wizard (NPC) Btw having 9 offical members in the end is just a major coincidence and was never planned, but still very poetic for this campaign.
If you want to see this is the moments when the CR animated show really started this was their 1st glimpse at D&D animated and started there and our need for a show to be made. This is a add song sam made for DnD beyond (now D&Dbeyond) ua-cam.com/video/_iEvpb0PgsE/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AndrewConover
Thanks for letting me know! I've actually seen it and reacted to it already! I've reacted to many CR things on another channel and have been slowly editing and reuploading them here. My reaction to Sam's DnD beyond add will be one of those reuploads! Again, thanks for taking the time to tell me about it. Even though I've seen it already, I appreciate the support!
Favorite character? Well, let's just say that you were spot on with the grave... But other than that? Pink haired dude with the staff. Don't let the healer aesthetic fool you! If he walks in the room and he's not the first person you try to kill, the fight is already OVER.
Caleb is amazing, but Jester is SO much fun. One of those two is my favorite, depending on my mood. As for wholesome? The Critters may be welcoming and friendly, but wait until you get to know this crew a little more... Wholesome might not be the right word. 🙂
"She's the final boss" considering half the main characters (metaphorically) failed a charisma save and fell in love with her, I'd say you're right. I think it was one of the most powerful mages in that campaign that said, "You are unnervingly charming" to her lmao
The pink person with a staff is a guy ( played by Percy’s voice actor), the little person who has the flask is a goblin girl (played by Sam aka scanlan) and the winged goth person is a girl ( Ashley Johnson aka pike). :D
One of my low-key favorite exchanges in the 2nd campaign: NPC: "And what are you supposed to be?" Caduseus (Pink Staff Guy): "Vegetarian, and I hope the menu reflects that." Me: *dead laughing*
Thanks for the recommendation! I've actually reacted to that one already. A lot of my recent videos (along with some of my future videos) are reuploads. I'll be editing and uploading that video soon. Thanks again!
