I don't understand what you mean when you say that the society of instant gratification is the society of complete restriction. Do you mean that true freedom comes with gratification that is relatively hard to achieve but entirely worthwhile? You're a star and I love your videos and I thank you very much for making them ❤
piecing it together from other videos, zizek suggests oppression is opposite to depression. with easy access or free reign you get bored. a popular art exercise is to start with a very limiting prompt. the creativity emerges from working within the constraint. just doing whatever is dissipative, while working within certain confines either self imposed or outer restriction is where the actual challenge (and enjoyment) lies. I guess like if every Minecraft map started completely blank fewer people would play.
Hello Julian: I was wondering if you heard and seen the 2023 movie 'Dream Scenario' with Nicholas Cage? Its a great critique of the absurdity of cancel culture, but I was very curios if you can do a breakdown of the movie like you did for 'Barbie', because the whole narrative revolves around the latent and manifest content of the collective dreams of people in the story, and it deserves a Lacanian/Zizekian psychoanalytic interpretation of it (no analysis of this kind has been made on the movie).
