Dear, spring element was used in the tutorial because this pool is located at the ground level, and the pool walls and slab have contact with the soil; therefore, the soil bearing was modeled with springs. In your case, no soil is on the top of the building. You consider the floor slab and wall with a rigid boundary condition.
when you are applying the soil pressure all local 3 axis is not in outward projection. so i think you need to do the correction.

Yes, you can . You should determine the internal forces of walls and foundations then design based on your local design code.
