    The first two minutes are directorial gold. Simple but perfect in a way only the best directors can know. The cast are fantastic. Morricone's music is sublime.

    in case anyone's wondering, the song you hear during the actual bank robbery is called "March of the Beggars", by Ennio Morricone of course. It took me a long time before I found out.

      the whole movie is a masterpiece...coburn is a first class alcoholic dandy with verve, steiger is THE sicilian bandit par excellence, (a nice political reference from leone there, btw), morricone's soundtrack is epic, EVEN THE EXTRAS ARE CHARISMATIC, and the fighting scenes evoke the best of peckingpah- what else could you want more from a western? well, maybe not a MG42 in a movie bout the Meixcan Revolution, lol...

    • @flitsertheo
      @flitsertheo 5 років тому +3

      @@Lemonheart69 The MG42 is not a bad choice if you have no German or Austrian WWI era machine gun available. It bears a certain resemblance to some types of Maxim machine guns of that period (around 1915-16).
