I know it's an older video, but the reason they don't fit right, is that a couple of the bulb clips (the ones you had to modify) changed in either '96 or '97. So the Spec-D lights fit the older ZJs without modification. But for the newer couple of years, because of the different bulbs, the modifications are necessary.
I have them. They dont fit my 95 or my 97. These things suck so bad. Idk how the fuck to get them to sit flush. I spent 115 hours getting my 97 perfect (full respray and a bunch of bodywork), but these headlights dont fit at all like theyre supposed to. Lol
@@BC.ZJ.OVERLAND Big part to fitment on the 97-98 is to make sure that the anchor (there is 1 on each headlight that isnt externally adjustable, it needs to be taken out and adjusted it is the one sitting in the middle, below the top adjuster) needs to be adjusted to show 4 threads only. or else you will never touch the 2 adjustable tabs that the headlight snaps into. Before i did that it wasnt even close to fitting right, give it a try.
Thank you so much for showing me these headlights because I was thinking about upgrade my headlight anyway but I didn't know what route to go through until I came across your video so thank you again and I have jeep grand Cherokee Laredo
Just subscribed. I have a 97 ZJ 4x4 5.2. Wow, I need those headlights. I know you're only 16 and you're still gaining knowledge about cars, but you're not going to get a better car than that Jeep. Keep it going if you can. I've owned a lot of cars and my ZJ is the best one.
I have a ZJ and the electrical position thing is in the way. One of the headlights round plastic shapes in the back hits it so it doesn't fit. Anyone had the same problem?
Is it possible that the Spec-D lights were fabricated for the previous generation of Grand Cherokee (93-98)? That's the only reason why you would have to shave down the fitting... I think... Edit: I just noticed your Jeep is a '98. Whoops. Carry on.

Congrats on the jeep
Headlights are a lot simpler than I thought. Great vid!
Edit: grammar
This video explained it very well! By the way the jeep looks WAY better with these!

91-98 are all the same gen. but they got a facelift in 95... so from 91-95 old style, 96-98new style... the spec-d is for 91-95
how are old?
I am 16.
