"Woodstock. 50 years. '79. Full moon. Waterfall. Exploding volcanoes. Baseball. White Sox. Angels. Summertime. No rain on the horizon. Greg Gumbel. Sam Smith. David Axelrod. Wow." - Bill Walton
Now THAT was a broadcast! Wonderful... Great human being. Love to hear a baseball broadcasting discussion up there YEARS FROM NOW between Bill, Vin Scully, Red Barber & Rizzuto after hearing this. Rest In Peace.
One of the best quotes I got a clip of Bill saying that night was "Chicago is known as the Windy City right? Not because all the wind blows, but because of all the blow hards"🤣
Needs to be a recurring feature in baseball. And for you young bucks out there watching this: Bill Walton went he was healthy may have been the best player ever in college basketball. Stud. 88-2 at UCLA. Virtually unguardable.
macho tony he led the blazers to the championship in his 4th year. Youngest team ever. He was MVP and Finals MVP. Averaged 18p, 19r, 5a and 4b in the Finals. The Blazers were 50-10 the next season when his foot injuries started
After watching this I want bill walton to team up with Ian eagle to call every sporting event..... basketball, baseball, football, golf, hockey, boxing, soccer, tennis
Bill Walton without a doubt was the coldest white boy ever, don't let his goofy demeanor fool you, on the court he was a certified beast, his feet let him down but he could play and as we say in DC he didn't take no shorts.
I'm a Celtics fan. I'm a UCLA fan. I'm also a Deadhead. I met Walton on 12/30/03 at the Shakedown in Oakland parking lot Tallest person I've ever met. I asked him who was better power forward, McHale or Malone (this is before Duncan had his legacy), he went "Pffft...Kevin McHale." Oh yeah, I'm also a White Sox fan, so everthing fell into place with this broadcast.
I realized the amount of hallucinogenic drugs he was on, when he called Giolito's little brother he was a spoiled brat with a silver spoon in his mouth
Loved him as a basketball player and basketball announcer, but baseball is not his forte. He was horrible. Did not pay attention to the game and didn't know the rules or what was going on. He was lost. He was loud, but only to get attention! Some may have thought he was funny, but it would not last over the course of a 3 game series much less a season.
“I’m much better at getting high than getting low”.
Christ - Walton is a GD jewel.
God Damn or Grateful Dead lol
DoubleRubberband +1
Rest in paradise Bill Walton💔

If you remember it you weren't there
If you didn't like Bill Walton, it was you, not him. What a wonderful soul. 👍
I was dead at “I love prisms”
The Trout swimming upstream line was pure poetry, this man better be immortal.
He’s not unfortunately 😢
pain
😢
Bill made this game an unforgettable experience for me (and I'm not a Angels or White Sox fan). GET HIM BACK INTO THE BOOTH MLB!!!
Bill Walton lived life like no one else.
I usually mute the tv during the game. Not tonight with Bill Walton! Love it. More Bill!!!
😢 Miss you Bill Walton
Love the energy he makes it more exciting!
Please let Bill Walton call the youtube games from now on. I would watch every broadcast if bill walton was in the booth.
I now know less about baseball and more about having fun.
Bill Walton is not only the best trailblazer ever but the best commentator ever
Now THAT was a broadcast! Wonderful... Great human being. Love to hear a baseball broadcasting discussion up there YEARS FROM NOW between Bill, Vin Scully, Red Barber & Rizzuto after hearing this. Rest In Peace.
He was hilarious! 😂😂😂
Is*** He’s still ongoing with the comedy show/recalling his psychedelic days
"Swimming upstream, avoiding all the flies, sending one through the universe."
You’re timeless ✨
One of the best quotes I got a clip of Bill saying that night was "Chicago is known as the Windy City right? Not because all the wind blows, but because of all the blow hards"🤣
And he wasn’t wrong. Chicago was called the Windy City because all the politicians were “full of wind”
I legit love this man
Forever Heavenly Respect...

He should have been an all time great, if it wasn't for his injuries. Had all the talent in the world.
Who were his teammates tho
macho tony he led the blazers to the championship in his 4th year. Youngest team ever. He was MVP and Finals MVP. Averaged 18p, 19r, 5a and 4b in the Finals. The Blazers were 50-10 the next season when his foot injuries started
@@a-love-supremist some dude named Lou al cinder you've never heard on him but in all fairness everything Kareem was on offense bill was on defense
@@coreygolphenee9633 Kareem graduated in 1969. Walton was a freshman in 1970-71, at a time when the NCAA wouldn't let freshmen play varsity.
That was unbelievable !
I want bill calling every major sporting event
Fare thee well Bill⚡️
“I apologize on behalf of the human race”
After watching this I want bill walton to team up with Ian eagle to call every sporting event..... basketball, baseball, football, golf, hockey, boxing, soccer, tennis
I watched this. It was great.
would’ve been even funnier if it was him and Hawk haha
totally
Man, Sox MUST make that happen, just one game announced by Hawk and Big Red Head Walton.
Hawk would have probably ranted at him 😂😂😂 lol
Hawk would either thought it was hilarious or socked him - 50/50 chance on either
OMG That woulda been something lol
So good.
Rest in Peace, Will🙏🏼
We need more Jason and Bill.

I wish Bill Walton could have given a speech at my wedding, lol
2:43 he was such funny guy. He made a positive impact on the world.
Awesome!!! Hey Bill try get to NY do some METS games. With our guys in the booth
Self actualized. He was a good dude .

It's just weed man, probably some top quality weed
@@johndotcue Everything I've ever gotten in the Golden State has been just that, golden!

this is amazing this is the best 3:13 seconds on the internet ever
Walton is a better broadcaster than Hawk Harrelson.
I'm baked also bill lmao
Epic!
I love prisms!!!
Have him in the booth with Joe buck for a world series
I'm still laughing...
Bill was higher than usual here 😲
This was incredible. But I think he needs to be on a broadcast with a different play-by-play announcer! Someone he has more chemistry with 😂
Jacob Sorokin uh, Jason and Bill worked with each other during the Maui tournament for college basketball
he and roxy bernstein work well on pac 12 basketball
did we watch the same video? You must be as high as Bill with that take.
How many trees 🌳 🌳 🌳 did he smoke 💨 as well as mushroom caps and stems 🍄 did he eat before this broadcast??? 🤩🥳✌🏼
It's California. He smoked 6 joints that morning.
Love too hear Bone Spur Bill's takes at basketball games too.
