it wasnt but not because the drummer's departure i think. Danzig was going to try new sounds anyway i believe.

Danzig had already been using different sounds ever since the original line-up had been together. Look how different the first two albums sound when compared to each other... and, imo... the 4th album (4p)... sounds like it should have come somewhere between the first two records. Anyway, my point being was that when Glenn was signed to American Records, he put alot of thought into who he wanted in the band... and he literally hand-picked Chuck Biscuits to be his drummer for what became, for all intents and purposes, Glenn's "super-band" (for lack of a better way of explaining that). Part of the reason why Glenn chose Chuck to be on the kit was not just because of how talented he was, but also for his versatility and ability to move in any musical direction on a whim. London May somewhat elaborated on that when he said that when Samhain first began working with Rick Rubin, Rick would want London to play like Phil Rudd (from AC/DC) on one day.... but then like Dave Lombardo (from Slayer) the next. Needless to say, London couldn't cut it but Chuck could. Musical compatibility aside, the original lineup also had very good personal chemistry (for the most part anyeay) because they all more of less came from the same musical backgound and had the same musical interests and goals for the band. Furthermore, the original line-up looked like how they sounded as the band, "Danzig", and vice-versa. When Chuck left (and soon after, John and Eerie)... all of their replacements looked like a bunch of nu-metal cholos and that's EXACTLY how they looked and sounded... so what Glenn was thinking when he hired those gang-members with instruments, I will never know.

Joey Castillo who he used after Chuck is still awesome in the Circle Jerks.

Eerie was Glenn’s sidekick like David Ellefson used to be Dave Mustaine’s. A lot of bands seem to have that situation. Mainly because the main guy is hard to deal with…
The side-guy is the illusion of stability.

I love Danzig's music and taste in geeky interests (*his comic art website is stellar for instance), but the man is an ego-maniac. He most certainly had a nose job for instance. He looked like Adam Sandlar a bit in high school photos and Misfits days...

Yes, please can we hear Mother one more time! It's an excellent song and deserves much praise but the one hit wonder treatment Danzig has always received is a bit annoying.

I'm a Danzig fan. Not one of the people who want to put em down all the time, but... the Chuck era was his best era. John Christ was outstanding as well, an amazing line up of talented musicians. Thanks.this isnt Burger King, I cant have it MY WAY, lol.

Joey is great and all, but Chuck had a unique, hard-hitting style that can be heard in the recordings.
