This is peak Jenny Usual Jenny video is 20 minutes of half sensible half bizarre content I love without knowing why This was 10 minutes of completely normal sensible review just so that we'd be caught off guard halfway through when it stops mid sentence to become an existential crisis I love it
She had an existential breakdown right around where I did: when talking about Thor 2. You start talking about the elves and next thing you know, you drunkenly rant about how the communist utopia was ruined by humanity's shortcomings. It's just a weird and nonsensical movie even in context.
I watch, rewatch, and re-rewatch your videos because they're passionate, funny, thoughtful, and authentic. I'll gladly keep watching whatever you put out!
It's really strange yet refreshing to see you not "in character" as it were and just speaking from the heart. I know I always look forward to your uploads because I have absolutely no idea what your next video is going to be about.
It's a meme because it's important to know how big a character is to know if they're protags. Like, look at that Porg and then look at Jenny. Tell me who's the protag in this video.
"She has to be [a good actress] to portray humans." This video was worth it for that line alone. Hope your voice is doing better & looking forward to your thoughts on Galaxy's Edge!

@@theomegajuice8660 So me ranting about how only really Dr. Strange kinda calls out Thanos on his BS makes me upset that Thanos got a platform to do something really really dumb, and wait a year to show, yup, it didn't really work, because of course it didn't. .... may or may not make you happy?
@@suddenllybah I do wish these movies would have just mercilessly ripped into Malthusian philosophy using Thanos as the only advocate for it while every one else with even a single brain cell calls him out on his bullshit.
Yes! Thank you! I was really into the way she was only faintly praising it, and I thought it was really funny when she just admitted this directly in the later portion.
It is a hot take we could stand to see more often with more movies! I get in arguments with my husband because we'll see a movie and he walks out like "that was AWFUL it makes me wish I was DEAD" and I'm like "...I thought it was fine." I don't know if people have just developed these astronomically high expectations or what but I basically watch the trailer, and if I like the trailer I go into the movie expecting to see a very long version of the trailer. And more often than not that is exactly what I get so I'm satisfied. But other people are either expecting something monumentally mind-blowing from even solidly "meh" trailers, or they just have a pathological need to hate EVERY MOVIE.
You're doing great, Jenny! I've watched and rewatched your videos a lot, and I'm excited to hear anything you feel is worthy to talk about! And thank you for talking about stresses and anxieties you feel as a UA-cam person. I feel those, too, and it's nice to know I'm not alone!
Mol D. Bagels Women have said the same thing about her videos... Are they white knighting too? Isn’t it both anti-male and anti-female to assume any guy who respects a member of the opposite sex HAS to have an ulterior motive? Maybe she just makes good honest content, and the people who appreciate her videos don’t want her to feel bad or cornered? Not only because it’s what’s best for her own mental health, but also because it is ultimately what’s best for the fans as well?
Nebula's story really upset me when I saw it. Like I feel like almost the entirely of the story she was involved could have been easily resolved if anyone actually cared about her and made an effort to spend time with her and be her friend. And the longer her story went on, the more obvious it got that nobody actually cared about her (despite trying to set it up a little at the start which was never mentioned again) and the sadder I got for her.
@@johnlarken4744 I loved that stuff, but then the rest of story didn't really suggest that those scenes were in any way consequential so it just felt like my hope was taken from me there :P
Man, comparing your facial expressions before and after the cut at 14:56, there is a real difference between when you're saying something you feel obligated to say versus when you're saying what you actually want to express. It's clearly better for you if you run the channel the way you want to and focus on the content you want to create. (For what it's worth, my favorite stuff of yours so far actually is the weird/obscure stuff. Especially if it's something I never would have thought to check out on my own anyway. But anything you have fun making is worth watching.)
It is worth watching the first few seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (even if it's never something you would consider watching) if only to experience Jenny's parody-work in "Friendship is Witchcraft." (This ua-cam.com/video/H4tyvJJzSDk/v-deo.html video is pretty damn cool, too.) As a film/advertising student who more or less dropped out after realizing the growing control content-producing corporations like Disney are having through integrated advertising and social engineering (there's a longer story here, but tl;dr - my favorite movie used to be Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and then I learned it was part of a 3-part propoganda-movie deal between Frank Capra and the US govt.) and ideologically not wanting to contribute to that even in an ancillary way, personally, I find the most inspiring part of Jenny's channel to be the deep-cuts that she finds of people making art for its own sake, and that those people have the courage to put their bad, half-baked fantasies - about being trapped in a island with Josh Hutcherson, for example - out there for the whole internet-connected world to see.
I really admire Jenny's creativity. I was floored when I realized that she did these and was also half of "Sherclop Pones" that created the masterful parody of My Little Pony, Friendship is Witchcraft. (I'm grateful for having seen MLP if only for getting to laugh my ass off start to finish through FiW.) There's a lot I don't like about how Star Wars has been going, from little, nit-picky things to the de-canonization of the EU (even though I hardly read any of it myself) and the (Marvel) Extended-Universe-approach to telling these new stories. I'm mad that Disney is so petty, cut-throat, and vindictive in its business practices. I wish I could live in the timeline where the Disney company failed and Robin Williams was alive and was making passion projects where he had full artistic control, and that those kind of things were the things that "sell." I can't speak for your whole viewership, Jenny, but if you need to move on from this format to other things and only maybe do these about films/whatever that you feel really passionate about, good. Please do :) PS - Jenna, sorry for piggy-backing on your well-liked comment. I feel like what I said here is kind of relevant to the theme of this video and I put it here as a reply so it will be more visible ... even though doing so instead of posting it as a standalone to be forever lost in "recent" completely undercuts my point about not pandering ... -_-

This was 10 minutes of completely normal sensible review just so that we'd be caught off guard halfway through when it stops mid sentence to become an existential crisis
I love it
She had an existential breakdown right around where I did: when talking about Thor 2. You start talking about the elves and next thing you know, you drunkenly rant about how the communist utopia was ruined by humanity's shortcomings.
It's just a weird and nonsensical movie even in context.
15:40 is where it is for anyone looking

It will be called 'Jenny reviews IKEA beds'
It will be several hours long and it will have 3 million views.

Gureato Agreed. I have watched it like 7 times and have forced my husband and multiple friends to watch it with me.
I periodically rewatch the tomorrowland review all the time
It's really strange yet refreshing to see you not "in character" as it were and just speaking from the heart. It's pretty apparent from your choices in video topics that you don't just choose trending topics to mooch off of, and that's one of the things we really appreciate about your channel. I know I always look forward to your uploads because I have absolutely no idea what your next video is going to be about.
Honestly, you’re at your best when you’ve got something YOU want to talk about. Not when you’re doing what everyone tells you to.
I was disappointed by how little the Avengers talked about, and were impressed by, Thanos' bigness
Is he bigger than Jake Rivers? Was that his name from that book?
Punished Blake he’s almost bigger than BIG jake rivers
This is going to be a meme for the channel forever isn't it?

@@jalapenofarts I've never been too hyped for Thanos, but I gotta admit he is the Lord of the Memes.
Thank you for being true to yourself, this is why we love you! Keep up the great work (:

Nebula's story really upset me when I saw it. Like I feel like almost the entirely of the story she was involved could have been easily resolved if anyone actually cared about her and made an effort to spend time with her and be her friend. And the longer her story went on, the more obvious it got that nobody actually cared about her (despite trying to set it up a little at the start which was never mentioned again) and the sadder I got for her.
So how do you feel about her and Gamora working through their struggles or her and Tony connecting at the beginning?
You're looking Way too hard into this my guy.
Yeah there make be snakes
It is worth watching the first few seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (even if it's never something you would consider watching) if only to experience Jenny's parody-work in "Friendship is Witchcraft." (This ua-cam.com/video/H4tyvJJzSDk/v-deo.html video is pretty damn cool, too.)
As a film/advertising student who more or less dropped out after realizing the growing control content-producing corporations like Disney are having through integrated advertising and social engineering (there's a longer story here, but tl;dr - my favorite movie used to be Mr.

(I'm grateful for having seen MLP if only for getting to laugh my ass off start to finish through FiW.)
There's a lot I don't like about how Star Wars has been going, from little, nit-picky things to the de-canonization of the EU (even though I hardly read any of it myself) and the (Marvel) Extended-Universe-approach to telling these new stories.
I'm mad that Disney is so petty, cut-throat, and vindictive in its business practices. I wish I could live in the timeline where the Disney company failed and Robin Williams was alive and was making passion projects where he had full artistic control, and that those kind of things were the things that "sell."
I can't speak for your whole viewership, Jenny, but if you need to move on from this format to other things and only maybe do these about films/whatever that you feel really passionate about, good. Please do :)
PS - Jenna, sorry for piggy-backing on your well-liked comment.
