For the Lycanite's bosses Asmodeus is meant to be fought in his arena because it has pillars to block his hitscan attack. His minions also power his invulnerability in his second phase, you gotta kill them to hurt him again. There is also a third boss known as the Amalgalich.
Just so everyone knows, twilight forrest locks its bosses until you have defeated the one before it. The “suffocating atmosphere” is because you have not defeated the boss before the hydra. great video :)

You genuinely need to check out the Betweenland boss mobs. You've only shown the two minibosses. Although 3/4 of the bosses are best experienced naturally spawned, the Dreadful Peat Mummy, by far my favorite, can be naturally spawned and is quite close to a perfect bossfight. Well balanced with the right difficulty, non annoying attacks, punishing players that run away, and a great soundtrack.
at 8:50 its like that because you're fighting the hydra out of sequence the regions are seperated by progression. the "curses" in each biome can only be cleared by beating a certain boss first
For some reason, Alex's Caves mods reminds me of Ice Age Era of Dinosaurs, cuz DInosaurs lived in underground too, and some dinos are similiar to the ones from the movie
