Comics were good until I discovered literature at age 10. Try a proper book like The Gap Series by Stephen Donaldson for an easy start into SciFi. You'll never even look at another stupid comic (meaning funny) movie. You're welcome.

You’re acting like all comics are the same. They’re not. Scott pilgrim, kingdom come, the sandman, watchmen and invincible are all vastly different American comics and I wouldn’t say any of them are any less than great literature.
Btw, if you want a real start into sci-fi, try dune instead.
