After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before, one where only one of them will survive.
When the franchise relaunched in 2018, Halloween shattered box office records, becoming the franchise’s highest-grossing chapter and set a new record for the biggest opening weekend for a horror film starring a woman. In 2021, Halloween Kills earned the biggest opening weekend for any horror film in the pandemic era and simultaneously set a new record for a non-live event premiere streaming on Peacock.
As Halloween Ends marks the last chapter of the David Gordon Green trilogy, so it ushers the essential return of original director and composer John Carpenter to score the iconically hair-raising soundtrack alongside Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. Together they once again bring the celebrated music score to the horror movie series, one of the most distinctive aspects of the franchise to date.
Similarly to the last two soundtracks, Halloween Ends was recorded in its entirety at John Carpenter’s home studio and Daniel’s studio. “The three of us compose, perform, and record all the music, and everything is mixed by Daniel together with John Spiker” says John Carpenter.
The unmistakable mix of software synths, vintage analogue equipment, and live instrumentation is utilized once again to provide the signature sound of Halloween. However, rumors have it that Halloween Ends is going to be somewhat different from the previous two films in the trilogy. With that comes an expanded soundtrack, one that matches the tone of a tangible rise in stakes and conveys the climatic feel of the film. The soundtrack of the third installment broadens old themes whilst creating new ones in an effort to bring renewed life to one of the most epic horror scores ever written. Carpenter elaborates, “The main themes have all been passed down from the original Halloween. We have refined them and created new themes for new characters.”
The soundtrack was tracked scene by scene but the album itself plays like a standalone piece of music. The general atmosphere is one of dread yet the record includes some groove laden moments reminiscent of Escape From New York or some of Carpenter’s other more dance-able scores. Exquisite and delicate ambient pieces weave their way between some of the score’s more arresting moments and yet maintain a subtle pop sensibility. The overall achievement showcases three master musicians, one of whom invented the entire horror-synth genre, crafting an evocative, playful and deeply listenable score that honors a legacy and expands on the decades of work that have been leading to this triumphant climax.
Carpenter is known for directing the original 1978 Halloween, as well as other horror classics like The Thing, The Fog, Escape From New York, Christine, Big Trouble in Little China, and They Live. However John Carpenter is not only a cult movie-maker, he’s also a pioneering electronic composer. Halloween Ends is the soundtrack of the final battle against evil. Watch your back this Halloween, Michael may be near you.
No matter what the conclusion will be to Blumhouse's "Halloween" Trilogy, one thing's for sure; John Carpenter and co. brought their everything to elevate the element of suspense to these three films, and I can't thank them enough for that.
There's 0 suspense in them
The sound tracks have been great. The kills have been great. The story line, damn shame. Insert mike, he no longer is related to Laurie. but hey, we're still going to have this all about mike and Laurie even though we made it clear that mike literally has no interest in Laurie.
cory is the new michael
The soundtracks for each films have been bloody amazing and scary at times 😍
Absolutely.
I really love the music style of these last 3 films! There's a bit of the original but updated for today's ears. John Carpenter to Halloween is like John Williams to Star Wars; one doesn't work without the other.
Agreed, though I'm not the biggest fan of these new films. The music is great. The only thing I dislike is Laurie's new theme in the past two films. I've always loved her theme from the original film that carried over to every sequel after.
@@marcusmcgill4423 Don't worry, they bring it back but it's more depressing.
@@marcusmcgill4423 they brought the old luarie theme back in this new one but it has a more suspenseful and depressed vibe to it.
This is the best comment! I very much agree.
Not entirely wrong, but I think that's a bit of a disservice to the great work Alan Howarth did over the years.
I think we can all agree that the music throughout the entire trilogy is fucking badass. Never disappointed.
Exactly! It makes me appreciate these movies even more. I know A LOT of people absolutely HATED Ends, but I was not one of those people.
I didn't love it either, it's the weakest of the three in the trilogy. But I do enjoy it. The soundtrack makes me enjoy it infinitely more though. The music can make a mediocre film feel much bigger than it is. Whatever gripes I have with the movie, the music makes up for it, allowing me to enjoy both.
I kinda wish Blumhouse were continuing the Halloween films, solely because I want John Carpenter to keep making Halloween soundtracks! And James Jude Courtney was such an amazing Myers 🎃🔪
Yep
I LOVE this. Love or hate Corey, you really feel his character in the music. Michael is driven with just the desire to kill, but Corey is driven with a desire to kill for revenge on a town that made him a monster. You can hear the emotion in the piano and the guitar, as well as the coldness in the synth. I adore Corey so much.
Fr tho
Yeah, just wished he had a bit more development.
@@AMemeableChannel Agreed, I really wish they had started his character arc in the 2018 movie rather than the Ends. That way it had time to develop over the three movies.
Corey is such an good character. I wish they made a spinoff for him though. I still love Ends though
@@AMemeableChannel did you miss the whole movie?
This is WTHOUT A DOUBT the best Halloween soundtrack we’ve gotten. Everything about it is amazing and is what makes me love Halloween Ends even more, even if it was a so-so movie
I liked the movie more than I thought I would, I think it's one of my favorites, but I still think I prefer evil eyes
@Michael Does Crack I can agree that the Halloween Kills soundtrack was great. Payback was excellent and probably the best in the entire franchise.
Saw Ends last night. Even though I had my gripes about the movie, this scene was solid. No spoilers though. All I’ll say is that this is played during a multi kill scene.
DUDE THAT'S STILL SPOILERS but I already watched if so eh
"I won't spoil" *proceeds to spoil*
I love how John and his team writes new original pieces for each individual scene of these movies. Shows great effort and passion put into this franchise. 🎃
If only Kills and Ends where better
@@dboygamer8184 Kills was good wdym
@@dboygamer8184
Kills and Ends are great!
They don’t call this guy the Master of Horror for nothing. Thank you so much for absolutely crushing the music for all three of these films. Please keep making music!! 🎃🔥🔥🔥
I love Halloween ends
GOD. Every single track in all three of these films is perfection. Exactly what they need to be. Gorgeous, atmospheric, epic. Perfect for Halloween.
Corey's requiem, Halloween theme (end titles) and Lauries Theme ends are the standouts to me. Amazing tracks
where u listened?
I also like the fortnite theme. But like. I don't know if ur asking for that.
Corey and Michael is my favorite
I love how you can feel the hate and corruption in this score. Reflects Corey's character perfectly! I also noticed that this has some of the "Payback" tune from Kills. Fitting for that whole scene.
I love this - the mixture of that 80’s John Carpenter sound and the newer emphasis on the guitar, so awesome. Certainly going to be in an epic scene.
The simple percussions and the electric guitars really bring this track to live. Some old tracks being brought in to finalize this beast of a trilogy. Thank you John Carpenters and Daniel for these amazing tracks.
This movie felt so much more like CHRISTINE than it did HALLOWEEN, particularly with this junkyard scene and the music reaffirms it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this was a inspirational scene based off of Christine the moment I saw it. Made the first viewing even better
This was hands down the best part of the movie
LOL So true and it was so super wicked and super cool☠💀👍🎃
The gradual build up to 1:45 is great supplemented by strong melody afterwards.
I love the consistency of "The Shape Hunts Allyson" in this trilogy's music
The music was the best thing about the trilogy and it's not even close. This coming from a person that enjoyed all three movies!
That sprinkle of The Shape Hunts Allyson throughout is incredible.
Having listened to the full score, anything with Corey/focused around him sounds positively evil. I love it.
You could say this new timeline hasn't been all that great storywise, but you can't deny the fact that it has produced some of the best music in the series.
Absolutely agree! The music is phenomenal. Unfortunately I’m not enjoying the new films overall.
The story of 2018/Kills is about a hundred times better than any of the other shit this series ever produced after the original film.
Yeah i didn't like the timeline either. Not really sure why they switched from Seth Rogen to Zac Efron to be honest
@@theS0UND_1 4 and H20 shit on Halloween Kills and Ends.
@@Animedumptruck in what category? nostalgia? costume design, Halloween 2018 and the 2 following >>> special FX >>>> acting >>>> soundtracks >>>> Halloween 2018, Kills and Ends clears most categories. that includes STORYTELLING.
You can tell just by hearing these tracks that Halloween Ends is going to be vastly different from the previous installments...it feels more like a revenge thriller than a slasher movie. I'm glad they're going in new directions with each movie
It sucks it's the end though I never want it to end
@@dra32411 The franchise isn’t ending
@@user-hx6gs9rq7u it is for Blum house productions and jamie
@@dra32411 I hope they continue making Halloween movies in the same vein as this trilogy and stay true to the character of Michael Myers, because he is one of the greatest movie villains ever. Even if he physically dies in Ends, "The Shape" should take a new body
@@retardedvaxxedliberal I totally agree, after 40 years going around murdering people at this point his physically not killable
Man this scene was brutal
The head Stomp brought my heart great joy
The blowtorch part 😬
@@jugushes definitely my favourite kill in the movie imo
@@Mike-gi1dk Why?
@thenoirknight5729 always was my favorite style of killing for Michael so it was nostalgic. Plus I wasn't a fan of the group so the whole scene was pretty nice. Head Stomp was the icing on the cake for me though.
that torch kill was.. something else
hands down (outside of the main theme) this is my favorite track.. the feel .. the atmosphere.. "The JunkYard" Carpenter is the Master 🔥💯🎃
Halloween 3, It Follows, Prince of Darkness and even 28 Weeks Later vibes here. Absolutely love it!
Definitely I can hear Prince of Darkness in this. Especially near the end.
I swear the junkyard scene had to be a nod to CHRISTINE. The way the bullies were going to destroy the bike and then afterwards the headlights turning on before all hell breaks loose.
The whole movie feels like a nod to Christine, with Michael basically being the "Christine" here lol
ARNIE Cunningham changed once he met Christine and became obsessed with and possessed by her. COREY Cunningham changed once he came into contact with Michael. Both Arnie and Corey had love interests, both caused people to die, and both ultimately died themselves.
As did Michael and Christine, destroyed in pretty much the same way.
@@GLITZandGLOOM That's probably why i enjoyed it wayy more than most out there who saw it. Soo much negative reviews but everyone has thier own opinions and thoughts. Crazy thing Christine is my all time favorite classic horror movie.
@@jayyizscared I love Christine as well, and immediately drew the comparisons. Halloween (1978) is my all-time favorite movie and Michael Myers is my all-time favorite movie villain, so a Halloween / Christine mashup, I didn't mind it at all.
I loved this sequel trilogy. It had its faults and flaws, but they're better than some of the original sequels. I expected a big grand finale for Ends, and what we got was very different. But I liked Ends. I'm sad to see Michael go, but it was necessary. I wish David Gordon Green and crew were continuing the Halloween franchise, because I'm gonna miss James Jude Courtney as Michael. He was absolutely amazing! But I'm happy with these last 3 films.
I thought the same thing when I saw this. Very good job.
Whole movie is a nod to Christine, even down to Corey sharing the same surname as Arnie, Cunningham. Loved the visuals allusions to Christine, that we got in this scene.
Love the suspense in it! This trilogy definetly achieved what the other movies after 2 couldnt, and that was make a great movie with a great sountrack. Thank you John for everything
thanks John for bringing us this soundtrack 🙏👏💯
Corey's actor could be a great younger Michael Myers on his own.
Yes! 100%
THIS!
Better scream

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dude I watched Halloween ends last night in theaters and the music was badass I can finally listen to it now
So good!!!! I have seen Halloween (the original of course) and The Thing countless times. Carpenter is a genius! Thanks so much!
Awesome scene. I love all 3 movies in this trilogy i think theyre class
It really reflects how different Michael and Corey are. Different evil, but still evil all the same. Michael Myers murders indiscriminately for the sake of killing while Corey Cunningham murders out of revenge and lashing out. This even shows the anger and hatred he was feeling was helping him get started. Even if they were bullies, their fear was very real.
No matter what people thought of the movie, the soundtrack is fucking amazing! Some reason this track really gives me Manhunt PS2 vibes
A perfect soundtrack title. New music for an new film.
The only time I loved Michael not being in a scene. Corey did amazing in this scene. The way it goes from a calm soothing violin to a dark scary chasing sound. Wow.
These three have done amazing on all three of these films scores, I cant wait to see what all three do next after this trilogy. Wish john would direct or assistant direct one last horror film but I understand why he doesn't want too
I'd say when ever that new the thing remake comes out have him do the score to that as wel.
What’s crazy is that Michael will forever still be alive as the shape.
Though I may be conflicted about how I feel about the film as a whole, the music is awesome. Another outstanding job by the Carpenters and Davies.
Honestly 👏 though I’m a little sad this soundtrack in particular was wasted on Corey.
@@Im_Jayke I mean, I like Corey and I like his arc, I just wished it was it's own movie. Outside of the Halloween franchise. Would've made for a good original David Gordon Green movie.
The film should've focused more on Laurie and Michael, especially since he killed her daughter.
@@fynnthefox9078 can’t argue with that. definitely felt out of place and didn’t really respect the trajectory of the plot coming from the previous two installments
I loved this movie
I don’t care if Michael was barely in the film I loved it as a finale for the franchise and the soundtracks of this timeline were incredible ❤
Can literally see John going nuts on this beat.
Wow, that's sounds great, I like it. GREAT JOB. John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.
The start gives me Christine 1983 Vibes
This soundtrack is sounding great!!!
There's such an incredible sense of finality to this score. Love it.
I need to watch Halloween Ends - however, I'm putting this on my playlist for the trick or treaters :)
i fuckin love the style of John Carpenter making this pieces.
I have goosebumps all over my body when listening to some tracks (especially from this)
The music is always giving me that Halloween vibe But more Scarier❤
This sounds intense, suspenseful and scary. I cannot wait for this movie!
The soundtracks to this trilogy absolutely compliment one another perfectly.
Now this song in particular feels like Michael has realized and accepted his destiny of who he is.
Michael ? Don't you mean Bryan Cranston/Johnny Depp/Michael Keaton/Seth Rogan/Zac Efron???
Makes me even more hyped to see this conclusion.
I'm ready to see how the junkyard scene plays out now
Same
@@xman04228 in the trailer a girl is trapped under the gate and I think I saw a blowtorch so Michael is even more brutal now
I like what Laurie said about evil doesn't die it changes shape which I think would be a perfect way to bring Corey back as a villain because if you remember he had a bad throat wound but kinda came back like Michael. Maybe he could have survived Michael breaking his neck 🤷🏻♂️
The Music Was By Far The Best Part Of Halloween Ends, John Really Overkilled It.

John carpenter you are a genius. I have been looking forward to this soundtrack almost as much as the movie. You always create such vivid soundscapes and find new ways to ratchet up the tension! Much appreciated your Halloween soundtracks have been amazing!
ThankZ for the amazing scores over the years. H78 test screening didn’t go to well. Then you added the music and 🤯. You’re the goat for a reason. All the respect in the world. Keep making money/ cashing checks til MYERS is 1M years old. Long live the real shape!
The beginning makes me think of Halloween 3 a bit.
In a way it kinda is Halloween 3 being the third in the trilogy
@@DeadEyes63 that’s true.
Yeah a lot of this soundtrack has Halloween III/Christine vibes
sounds like a new rendition of the shape hunts allyson
It feels more like a transformation scene than a kill scene and the music feels like it conveys that, but is also mournful things have come to this. Maybe I'm overthinking but that's what I get out of it
Thank you John carpenter for this song! I use this to calm down after a sad day also it is in my head I really like it better that any other song from this soundtrack thanks for this song!!!
This is the type of music to watch 3 bullies get slaughtered.
This song sound like the theme of John Carpenter's Christine in the opening.
Love It as always
Loved the music on this one, John, felt Christine's flavour on it!
As much as I hated this ending for the franchise this score makes up for it.
John always pulls through with these bangers 1:29
All songs are awesome! Thanks. 👍👍👍👍
I can definitely hear a little bit of Christine mixed with Michael in this.
This gave me chills

The soundtracks for the new trilogy are just amazing, basically original vibes but with ELECTRIC GUITARS?!?! Genius if you ask me, just this very uncomfortable sounding metal-church music cross.

Christine vibes!!! 🎉😮😮
such good composition
Phenomenal music as always.
I'm gettin mad Season of the Witch vibes. Love this!
This soundtrack is scary
Corey needs to be brought back because evil never dies. I love his & Laurie's love story. Nothing like a good VS evil love story. He has to come back as Michael. The last 15 mins sucks. They ruined it by killing Corey. And the fight scene between Jamie, Corey & Michael was way to short. The rest of the movie is great. Also I don't think Corey would have tolerated so much bullying. He was already dark
For me the best thing that came out of this trilogy was the score and the depiction of MM’s brutality. Everything else is a mixed bag. Goes from being pretty damn good to down right god awful. Such a strange trilogy.
It feels like they wanted to do a lot of diffrent ideas that were dabbled with in other movies like corey parreles What the ending of 4 teased the idea of Micheal effecting people so much they become vastly diffrent than who they were before defitnetly a mixed bag but enjoyable
Really great 👍
I like how they’ve kept that same guitar bit and piano from the previous 2 halloweens when Michael appears
