i HATE when people give a thumbs down...this guy is beyond gifted, talented, awesome! The ONLY negative remark i could say, is his shirts wrinkled! LoL...but then I've got more wrinkles on my face than he's got on his shirt pocket. God Bless you Gert!....you amaze me and often have me in tears as I listen/watch you play on UA-cam...thank you for blessing me and millions of others with your God given gift! My 14 yr old grandson has been playing for a year now and his gramma (me) is hoping he'll take an interest in pipe organ...He thinks you're awesome.... I LOVE the part @ 3:45 and @ 4:49 ....such sweet, sweet music, brings tears to my eyes as I listen...I suffer horrible pain and listening to you play helps me cope...every moment is a horrible challenge for me. I long for Jesus to come back, take us all home, wipe our tears and fix our broken bodies AND maybe...just maybe bless me with the ability to master playing pipe organ....
Absolutely awesome and incredible! Beautiful and uplifting music from the King of Instruments. I very much enjoy the small inset video that shows your foot work on the pedals. To watch you interpret those notes into the smooth hand and foot work will never cease to amaze me. Thank you for sharing your God gifted talent and making the world a better place!
Pachelbel's Canon is a lovely piece that doesn't usually get me excited, however I love the way it builds. Thank you Gert and Jan. I think you were pretty happy too
Beide makellos. Ein absoluter Ohrenschmaus. Herzlichen Dank fürs Teilhaben lassen.
Men this is crazy. I've been watching this since 4 or 5 years ago, and i still love it. So far this is the best version of Canon in D played in Organ. Love from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Thank you both! Gert, you didn't "played" the Pachelbel's Canon; you payed homage to Johann Pachelbel. Thank you for your mood of playing., thank you for your rogish smiles and thank you for beig there. I am really jealous of all the people who can listen to you and to see your preparations! We love you, Gert.
Canon in D Minor, Pachelbel's biggest smash hit composition, popular at weddings. Well done Gert, a true master of the organ. The use of the tremulant as a sweet touch. Pachelbel would be proud of you
Beautiful, the fact it is not so polished, edited and smooth as other versions on the internet is what makes it so natural and therefore good, well done lads and thank you forever who put this on u-tube. It also illustrates the use of the organ and the importance of those pumps and foot peddles on such a "beast", and would make a good educational piece for all those future organ players. Not sure of the recording but I would like to think the walls and floor were shaking for the finale, BTW ignore the philistines regarding the short sleeve shirts etc. - It is the music not what you are wearing that is important!
This is one of the best version of the Canon for organ I heard here on youtube! I like how you build the crescendo during the playing adding different stops and the final is just amazing! I'm always amazed by the potential of the organ, it is such a wonderful instrument! Thanks for this piece! ;)
The overwhelming power of this performance will penetrate my soul and reach the God . My soul is quivered by this performance . I am always with the Lord ! Greeting from Japan
very impressive. Pachelbel meets lowhanging jeans and short Tshirts. And the result is breathtaking. You should come and play in some churches here in Ghent, where the sound is so amazing.
Honestly, the composition itself is magnificent. But imho it adds a layer or two to the experience listening performance (first and foremost) and watching to the collaboration between the guys. I love it... I keep returning to this on a regular basis. And guess what... I'm a metal/hard rock fan at heart. Go figure...
+Allura Sitter Indeed! One of the best things about Pachelbel's Canon is the way you can improvise and make your own alterations to it in almost every part
For all those people that gave a thumbs down you try and play the pipe organ I'm a pianist and even for me it's really hard so stop being negative and enjoy the music

Beautiful! My favourite so far! (I once played it on church organs too. It's way trickier than it looks - you can hardly hear what you're playing up there.)
One of the proudest times of my life was walking my lovely daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, to this melody.
I can imagine ...

The best version of Canon that I've ever heard. Perfect tempo. I get chills everytime I listen!
...This is not your "typical" pipe organ music. It is orchestration at its finest! Well done, fellas!
The queen of baroque music played on the king of instruments, marvelous, thank you.
You have changed the way how we all think of the organ.
this fine organist is able to put it all together with a beautiful organ. Thankyou.
I never, ever tire of this work ... and such an exciting performance!

I love this because it's played slow and that makes it beautiful. Erg mooi!

I’ve listened to this on repeat multiple times... what a delightfully well-done Canon!

If I had been there, at that time, I would have been to first person to stand and give you a standing ovation.

Heel mooi ! Ook de registratie.

Gespeeld met gevoel Gert, bedankt.
Always enjoy your work Gert. Love the informality of your recordiings too.
3:42 never heard that part in the song & I love that part honestly I'm in love ha 😍😍
+Allura Sitter That's probably one of my favourite parts as well.
+Allura Sitter This is not a "Song" It is properly referred to as "A piece". Songs have words.
Who gives a shit?! We all have an appreciation for the music, so shut up.
+TEMPEST Allura might want to know the proper way to refer to music even though you clearly don't
+Allura Sitter Indeed! One of the best things about Pachelbel's Canon is the way you can improvise and make your own alterations to it in almost every part
Jeune homme Gert, déjà magnifique musicien 🎶 💕🎶💕
Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I loved this piece.
For all those people that gave a thumbs down you try and play the pipe organ I'm a pianist and even for me it's really hard so stop being negative and enjoy the music
Very well done. You two make a good pairing. The result is wonderful. Thank you both.
Nicely done Gert. Merry Christmas to you and your friend Jan. Your playing is inspirational for many young people. Lead the way.
Is it technically perfect? No. Is it Gert Van Hoef? Without a doubt. Great emotion Gert. Je voeldt het egt. Veel liefs.
I love this version so much! Thank you for playing and uploading!
