As many other commenters stated, the short updates are great as a bridge between your more thorough videos. It wasn't a surprise to me to find out the repair procedure was more intense on the S type as compared to earlier Jaguar's. Nice to see you enjoying your daily driver and promoting the Jaguar name.
Thank you Kenneth! So far the rest of the coolant system seems to be leak free but I do plan on replacing all the hoses in the spring. More updates will come on the daily! Had my first encounter with the traction control today (already some icy roads here) and it seemed to work great
Thanks for keeping up the tempo of content. I think the short takes are a nice bridge between the major work you put up. I really enjoy catching the videos every week. I'm in the midst of working on my XJ-S and ther isn't another owner I know of within a 2 hour drive of me so I find your videos on everything V12 very helpful!
Thank you Blair Marchand! Sometimes it's difficult to get the time to make the videos but it's definitely worth it when everyone seems to enjoy them. More V12 videos coming soon!
hello sir i bought the same model car … its has same problem … i have not enough money to repair in workshop .. so how can i change it by my self and how much cost of this water tank
I have a coolant problem with my S type Jaguar. The mechanic said it is a water pump problem. I paid him for it. When I drove out of the shop. It did not fix the problem. What is happening?
This looks to me as though the tank has been secured to tightly in position causing the side of the tank inwards and putting pressure on the two corners, which of course will “give way” over time; the plastic will of course become brittle with age and heat which also does not help things. At least you were able to get home under your own steam, so to speak. During my first run at speed with the XJS the top hose burst, enveloping the car it steam and water; that was quite an embarrassing tow home!
A lot of the plastics are starting to feel brittle under the hood. A few clips broke when taking things apart so I will order new ones. I think it's to be expected with a 20 year old car. Was the engine alright even thought the hose blew? I've had an embarrassing tow home too. Fuel pump stopped working at the quick stop at a busy airport. A very expensive tow home and then it started and ran fine when home.
Another great video! How do you bleed the system on these cars? I'm changing my coolant reservoir soon on my 2000 stype. Also I'm having an issue where one side (passenger) is hot and driver side is cold. It's cold now and I want the heat on. When car is idle and revving over 1500rpm then driver side gets warm. I did change heater control valve as well. Also how can I get access to the flaps for the climate control I believe that one side is shut when I put on the defroster. Thanks for your help
If they do they should be stainless. I've had to replace the metal coolant tanks on all the older Jaguars I've had. They rust from the inside out sadly.
But that will only work in certain environments, metal will be hotter and less sensible in places like Australia, but I agree that they shouldn’t use such a brittle plastic.
Have you had any problems yet with your water pump? If not, you will. I have replaced the expansion tank many times, but am still getting a leak. Methinks it is the dreaded water pump this time.
Audi tanks do the same, I think its the heat that gets to them and poor quality plastic. I like the short updates but only do them if you have time, no pressure Lol

Can you show us how to install an oil catch can on a jaguar 3.0 v6?

Is this a 3.0 V6 Model? Why dont people list this!
You didn't show us how you took it off
Very good vieo, thanks.
Thanks Adam !!
I think "they" should make a metal reservoir replacement

Ya stainless👍😜

Just wanted to know how does it handle in the snow? Any advice

Where are you from? May I ask
Sweden
Sir, what year is this
It’s a 1999
Ahh, just a little different from the 2005
Same car same issues. It’s going to break again... I’ve done this job 2 times already. Now I’m leaking at the front corner on the passenger side.
Which is the best coolant oil for jaguar stype engine.

I think so too. If they hold up for 20 years that's not too bad. Thank you! I will keep doing them when I have some extra content
Jaguar makes everything difficult.
Sometimes they do
Pointless. We need information not chit chat.
No explanation how he got it off!
Waste of time. Don’t need to see hole in old tank.
