There is no way the local municipality could ever clean all of the drainage grates in one year. Even small cities of 40,000 can have as many as 7000 drainage grates to maintain. If home owners were to clean the ones in front of their own homes it would make a huge difference
At the apartment complex where I used to live, we had a couple of drains right in front of my building. They regularly got clogged, and we'd have to wade out to get to our cars. I started going out after it stopped raining, and sweep the grates free of debris. It's amazing how a few (or a lot of) leaves in the Fall can clog the drainage system, not to mention trash. The maintenance crew finally saw me out there a time or two and, the next thing I knew, they were regularly cleaning the drains and gutters, and so we no longer flooded every time it rained.😁
Good job ! I have been clearing and opening our storm drains for many years, and sending photos and videos to our city public works department as well. If you are able to lift one end of the grate and slide it back several inches, the drain will be able to get rid of much more water much faster. 😎
Most wait on the city or county to fix the issue.sometimes you have to help yourself. I get paying taxes but thats a whole other can of worms. Thank you to those who do these kind of things.
I just love watching this.....ti be honest, I,d love to do this myself as it's just leaves and other debris, I love when the water just drains away.......magic
Congratulations on your growing channel. great to see you are using a small rake and gloves to protect yourself. Amazing that a small rake and some effort can drain a whole street
I keep saying this but shouldn't the city workers be doing that? Growing up in my town they did. Just like after a snowstorm the fire fighters would shovel out ALL FIRE HYDRANTS.
Botas y guantes de goma, es cuestión de salud, coges una infección en la piel y no lo cuentas y el vídeo es igual de bueno, saludos desde gran canaria 🇪🇦
They do clear the drains. But they have hundreds or even thousands of drains to clear. This guy has only to walk around and find one or two uncleared ones and that is what you see. He does good work, for sure, but it doesn’t mean that the “authorities” aren’t doing their jobs.
No councilors live in these areas, which is why nothing gets done. Mark my words, if it was outside or near their place, you could bet yah bottom dollar the street would be regularly cleaned.
All these people having a go about rubber boots he probably has the best immune system and isn’t governed by health and safety and will live to a long life
The grate's should have a bigger opening. At least to allow leaves to pass. And the bubbles coming up behind I'm isn't a good sign, water is entering under the roadway and is pushing the air out. Eventually will cause voids under the road
SERIOUS design and drainage issues with that street. The drain looks waaay undersizedand the raod bed not raised enough. It looks like drainage wasn't even a concern when the road was built.
I think what you do is great , and it’s interesting to watch. You should be wearing gloves though, heavy ones. If you get cut, and it can easily happen, you could end up with a Staph Infection. That is really serious to your health.
@@johnnyrosa2114 huh, your right. Cambodia is just north of the equator. Looked it up after reading your comment. Wonder why the drain swirls anti clock.
Great cleanup job, good for safety on the road However, one comment, if you throw the leaves nearby, they will dry out and the wind will blow them back
Love when couch commandos get in here and critique people who are out doing the actual work.
This couch commando has nothing but respect and awe for this marvelous feat.
At least he has a helmet on
I agree. He’s doing a good thing for his community.

It’s amazing how one simple act makes a HUGE impact. Great job 🎉❤
It’s his job to do this, if was not, he wouldn’t care.
@derrianterrell if it was his job I suspect he'd have proper tools
What a great job you’re doing for the community! Well done for being amazing! ❤
Thank you for doing this work, you are helping many people, if they don't know and don't thank you I will.

Thank you for helping. Every little bit is something, 1 small act means a big act isn’t needed later.

Wooww good job... Thank you for doing this work...
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Amazing how a small amount of debris can cause such a big clog. Great work
If each person took a little responsibility and cleared outside their own home boundary there would be no problem
Few people try to do such a hard work, so how great he is!🎊👏🎉

Thank you for doing that!
God Bless them! Thank You Sweet Jesus ❤❤❤
The government should clean it before the rainy season, it would be more easy that way. Plan ahead the cleanup....
It's the many ppl who freely litter every chance they get.
How about you get of you butt and mobilise community members to clean up.
Blessings
Good work 👍

You’d think the local authorities would sort this out! It’d save millions in flood repairs to houses & other infrastructure

Boots for your own protection
The problem is that the drains are not large enough to support the water supply that needs to be got rid of

My questions is which country come from this video? Please reply me now because I want to know it.
He is in Cambodia,it’s in the channel description.😊
Cuidemos el medio ambiente ❤
Maybe some people needs to learn how to put their trash in a trash can and the city needs to pick up the leaves.
Don't know if they have trash cans in Cambodia.
Can't help, but notice the water level never changed😢.
I've adopted two storm drains at the end of my street and the street one up. I've named one Purple drain, and the other one is Love dreign ore me

You needed to remove the grates, that way the water would have run faster.
Wow look other side of street!
Well there's your problem mate, your bloody drains are swirling in the wrong direction.

have you thought about getting boots to wearing while you do this so you don't have to get your feet wet? great job!
que gran trabajo haces sacando mugre y hojas de todos los mugrientos que no cuidan los cordones y seguramente ni siquiera te agradecen .
Boots dude, boots. You'll get leg aches 👍🏻
You could do with a pair of wellies!
The first advise for you was make sure you must wearing the garden's boots.
😮😊😅🎉😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
There are probably a few more drains for this section of the road.
You should get some boots 🥾
Hello. How do you know where thr drains are located?
God bless what you do, but you really should be wearing rubber boots

I instantly knew this was south of the equator because the water swirled anti clock as it went down.
But im sorry to tell then, thats its not south of equator
