Nah, for some reason arcade version was very short and bland in comparison to the snes port. Possibly, due to the lack of time, resources or added money funds, the original lacked not just with one level, but a lot of cool bosses for no visible reason (like a bunch of regular enemies instead of the boss in the sewer level, or freaking noname cement man (apparently, the cameo of the glue monster from the "curse of the evil eye" from season 2) instead of Slash, or, the biggest minus for my taste, the lack of Bebop and Rocksteady)). And this is utterly disappointing, since as far as I know, Konami wanted to add all of the new content from the SNES port, but couldn't make it for some reason. Moreso, they already had the sprites base but left it for better times and changed very poor on moves cementman instead of Slash. It really reminds me the same story with the battletoads arcade, where due to the lack of time, final level with the dark queen was in the development, but for some reason (I've heard from the interview with the developers, that's because of absence of time). Or was completely replaced by shoot'em up level with Robo-Manus.
Love the intro the coming out of our shells tour. I remember playing this game so much in the arcade when I was a kid in the movie theaters and I was just so fascinated and obsessed with this game.
I played this on the ninja turtles cowabunga collection for my PS4, but the only issue I have is the wrong voices keep coming out of the turtles like in the cartoon, and who did their voices they sound identical to Cam Townsend Berry and Rob.
I never really noticed before, but it's very notable now that the Genesis Hyperstone Heist game took basically all of its sound samples almost 1:1 from this game. I think almost every sample was redone from scratch for the SNES port of this game.
The funny thing about cement man in the arcade version is he the easiest boss in the game, while in the snes version he is replaced by slash, the hardest boss in that game. Another interesting thing is that cement man feels like he would be a snes boss, due to the lack of advanced frames like special attacks and death animation. In his death he explodes and goes away while playing his pain animation, like many of the snes bosses do, but almost none of the arcade bosses do.
I would say that Baxter Stockman is the easiest boss in the arcade game. I also feel he goes down faster than the other bosses as he can be defeated in like 30 seconds or so.
I just realized alley cat blues sorta starts off like the boss theme in Lethal Enforcers... Both Konami so sure. not the first time I've noticed something like that either. X-Men and Simpsons have similar 4th level themes. they sound like they have the same basic structure but suited to the style of music in each game.
Not even close. 4 players is the sole reason this is one of the greatest beat em ups of all time. That huge element missing in the snes version is a huge huge loss.
Starring "Tim, the guy who gets our coffee" as Krang and Shredder Real talk tho, the arcade game looks phenomenally easier compared to the SNES version. Especially when you can just spam super with no HP cost
Who’s that sand man/muck Pokémon boss in the prehistoric level? I remember him being a turtle with a sword that was swiveled. He’d have me raging all the time 🤣
@@federicoberghmans991 debatable to me. Remember, this arcade version was not meant to be easy. It was designed to gut your wallet as much as possible.
