Actually Jingles... in the S tank the gunner and the driver is the same. He has two sets of periscopes, one for driving and one for the gun. And the commander can both drive and gun the tank almost as effectivly as the driver/gunner. The radio operator can always drive the tank backwards at full speed.
Actually you only had three men in the crew no dedicated commander or radio operator position was included you just had a driver, gunner and another driver who was mainly there to drive the tank in reverse for shoot and scoot attacks. A single person could feasibly do all the duties however.

The description of how the STRV103 aims and moves is not quite right. The gunner is the driver. In addition to the gunner, there is a tank commander and a backwards driver. The commander and the gunner have the same controls so both can drive and shoot. The backwards driver takes care of the tanks radio.
The Stridsvagn 103 was meant to be rc controled and experiment with this was done by the swedish army also, but it never went to realisation, thats also whye TANK 103 looks like it does /Greetings frome Sweden ;)
It will probably make a resurgence in the next decade, remotecontroled from something like a recon version CV90. Just with an even lower profile, something the size of the Even-90. Getting to finally join NATO means the Swedish defence-forces gets the funding they have needed a long time, to do what they need to defend our country.
@@andreassjoberg3145 the funding is not the problem, the problem is that other contryies want to buy Our stuff but as they are members off nato they are nearly forced to buy nato armory, just take a look at the swedish arty system bandkanon 1 it still have the rekord as the fastest shooting arty in the world, so sweden can make military weapon alredy
Actually Jingles.. The driver is also the gunner. He both drives and shoots with his controls. The commander spots targets and can “lay the gun” via his own controls, or he just directs the driver/gunner verbally. He can shoot as well, but the primary gunner is the driver…
I mean... It isn't quite a tank destroyer... It's just a casemate that RESEMBLES tank destroyers, but there's no 1-off attribute or specific purpose that it is built for, so it's just... A medium tank without a turret? If I will get pissed about one thing, it's people calling it the S-tank. That could mean quite literally any Stridsvagn in the world, yet for some reason it's reserved for the most limited model?
Actually Jingles. Overmatch is a very real thing, although it doesn´t occur in modern tanks for good reason anymore. The modern Projectiles are not big enough, the carry the energy in a more efficient way to the target, which allows for better protection with less armor. Whereas big bulky AP shells had a certain mass/volume to haul around, modern materials are denser and brittle, they either bite into the armor or shatter, rarely deflect off the tank. The reason is the plastic deformation limit of the armor that those bulky shells hit. If you take for example a BB pistol and load it with a plastic BB, it can deflect off a piece of paper, do the same thing with a steel BB shot at the same speed, it can easily penetrate, because it just carries too much energy for the "armor" in this case to handle. The same will happen to steel plating. It´s a combination of armor thickness, speed of the projectile and it´s mass (so basically the energy that it can convey) If that is more than the armor can handle it will just give and the projectile will basically fly through, althought it loses energy while doingt that. So even in ricochets that mechanic will be in play and the armor would be left damaged and more vulnerable than before. I don´t think any game accounts for dmg to armor. Not that i would know of anyways.
It's not so much that the gunner takes over from the driver, the driver and the gunner is one and the same, there is also the commander, and the reverse driver/radio operator. Yes the S-tank goes as fast backwards as it does going forwards. And hey, the 11 degrees of gun depression is better than pretty much all of the post WWII soviet tanks XD
The s tanks are fun tanks and can work well even with a more agressive play style thanks to the turbo we can now put in to massively increase the mobility in siege mode
the driver is the gunner , theen so can be the comander, bouthe can srive and ther is a rear facing radio op and revers driver , so in there he tank can be opparated by one person
I think the Cheiftan put it best. The reverse driver is just there to keep the other two crew from killing each other. Why they didn't just have a one man machine is beyond me.
Actually, to overmatch, the gun caliber has to be greater than 3x the nominal armour thickness. So, to overmatch 30mm of armour you need a gun that is 91mm or larger. So, tanks with 90mm guns will not penetrate the S1. This is most beneficial for the T10 103B because all the german 150mm guns will auto-ricochet, but the russian 152mm guns and american 155mm guns will overmatch.
Actually Jingles US doctrine wouldn't considered towed AT guns as tank destroyers. The role of tank destroyer was for vehicles that would be held in reserve until the panzers came at which point they would be deployed to chase them off or destroy them.
I thought there was still the initial belief that towed anti tank guns could be used in that role, and moved up to respond to enemy armor attacks. Which always seemed optimistic to me.
@@Vnx The Army didn’t form a separate Tank Destroyer branch until after the Fall of France in the Sprint of 1940 where they made the doctrine of vehicles that were used as I described as counter to blitzkrieg attacks (the premise was that wouldn’t stop the blitzkrieg but you could significantly reduce the damage). The towed AT guns that were in Tank Destroyer Battalions were only there because they had them available but they were just stopgaps until they got proper Tank Destroyers to replace at which point, they were transferred to other divisions that needed them like Airborne or Armored.
I had once battle in wows where I lost but I was 1st in my team and I had more base xp that best player from enemy winning team , I have send that battle to Jingles but I guess was not good enought to be on his channel :(
The driver is the gunner, the siege mode doesnt exist in the real thing. So you go smooth and fast from full speed to stoping and shooting. A S-tank at full speed could turn its gun 180 degrees in seconds. The commander has the same gun and driving controls as the driver-gunner, so with two spotter-driver-gunners and no seige mode in RL it was a fast OFFENSIVE deadly tank. The S-tanks massacred the Lepoard IIs(STRV 121s) in the last exercises with the S-tank. So the S-tank is by all means the most nerfed tank in the game, with no comparison.
I think there is a important distinction between the anglophone-sphere and the scandinavian and german speaking sphere. For english speaking people a "tank" is a tracked armored vehicle, with a direct fire artillery in a turret, build for fighting all kinds of different targets. As opposed to let's say an M10 tank destroyer, which only focus is to fight tanks. On the other hand for example for germans ANY tracked, armoured vehicle is a "Panzer". Panzerhaubitze (SPG), Bergepanzer (ARV), Jagdpanzer (Tank Destroyer) I think you see the pattern. Same word, slightly different definition.
Panzer is really just a term they use for Armored Fighting Vehicles as Panzer is literally German for armor and the word is often used as short for Panzerkampfwagen (literally armored fighting vehicle). It is why Panzer is used for non-vehicle based terms such as Panzerfaust (Armor Fist for being an anti-tank weapon) Panzershreck (Tank's fright another anti-tank weapon) Panzerbuche (tank rifle) and Panzergreniader (armrored grenadier or motorized infantry)
But Jingles, the AMX CDC is not a tank - it was designed as a Tank Destroyer. If that wasn't bad enough, the T25/2 wasn't designed as a Tank Destroyer, it was a medium. If that wasn't bad enough, most Tank Destroyers in World of Tanks were regarded as Self Propelled Guns and the T18 HMC which has been subject of some of your most hilarious videos, started in World of Tanks as a TD and changed to a Self Propelled Gun. I suppose we have to blame Wargaming for confusing our definition of what was a tank and not a tank.

I just want you to see the world as I do...giggling in a corner and bleeding.
Too be fair, they had a 6k hit point deficit at 2 versus 6. Good team work with the batchat. The meatheads almost threw it all away. Just don't give up. I've been in games where the team has been down 7k+ and managed to comeback and win. GG dowjoe.
Nice that Löwe has 490 damage and 2 kills. Considering dowjoe had 137HP left and Löwe´s alpha is around 320, that dude had AT MOST 3 hits in entire match.
Heh, I'd call that an "above average game" from a german heavy tank driver in WoT
@@nephandi2316 If anything im jealous of him. When i played i could end with over 7k damage and 0 kills. Usually they either get stolen or i became victim if "you shall not kill" curse where i could almost see Serbs hand deflecting the shells away from that 9hp fucker.
Let us bow our heads for DowJoe.... a truly Ace Tanker in his own right! May he tank ever more in the ever after... ooooor until he joins another battle!! lol
He got more base xp on the losing team then anyone except for the guy who was top of the enemy team by only 3 xp. And my god the 220k silver because premium
Cant we agree on the GMT being the same as "Amsterdam " time (GMT+1). Because I got my coffee (sometimes tea) a couple of croissants and no Jingles video yet to enjoy while im enjoying my breakfast ;)
EXACTLY why I don't play WoT. Relying on window-lickers and drooling imbeciles game after game to try to drag out wins... who wants to do that?
Little Willie had no turret nor did the mk 1, mk 2 etc or the German A7V no tank had a turret until the cute Renault FT, so I think we could safely call any AFV a tank
daily dose of Mighty Jingle to feel happy
What an utter heartbreaker. My god. 8 kills, 9k damage, and still couldn't win - finished off by the noob in the Lowe who somehow managed to survive till the very end only doing 490 damage. What a joke this game is - it's results like these that cause people to quit this game. These results simply shouldn't happen, but they do, thanks to the disaster that the game's playerbase has evolved into.
Hey jingles love the videos
No it's not only 490 damage; it's the right 490pts of damage.
Wow, that was a great battle.
The description of how the STRV103 aims and moves is not quite right. The gunner is the driver. In addition to the gunner, there is a tank commander and a backwards driver. The commander and the gunner have the same controls so both can drive and shoot. The backwards driver takes care of the tanks radio.
So nice to hear proper Swedish. Its not an English person trying to speak it.
The Stridsvagn 103 was meant to be rc controled and experiment with this was done by the swedish army also, but it never went to realisation, thats also whye TANK 103 looks like it does
/Greetings frome Sweden ;)
RNG without random, premium ammo as a credit drain and a matchmaker for premium.
And a shout out to the BC12t, fedia, who did the best thing he could do: support the only teammate he had who knows how to play xD
Actually Jingles..
The driver is also the gunner.
He both drives and shoots with his controls.
The commander spots targets and can “lay the gun” via his own controls, or he just directs the driver/gunner verbally.
He can shoot as well, but the primary gunner is the driver…
Actually there is no commander. Just two drivers (a front and rear driver) and a gunner.
Great vid Mr J!
To be fair. The Sweds, have a lot of area where the side to side isn't an issue.
So close! Oh my God, that got intense at the end!
I mean Jingles, there was lot of tanks called armored cars because they were use in cavarly units for example in France or USA.
In France Calvary Tanks were still called tanks.
Awesome gameplay, thanks for sharing)
Benefits of working nights (USA) is I’m early for jingles uploads lol
It´s a combination of armor thickness, speed of the projectile and it´s mass (so basically the energy that it can convey)
If that is more than the armor can handle it will just give and the projectile will basically fly through, althought it loses energy while doingt that.
So even in ricochets that mechanic will be in play and the armor would be left damaged and more vulnerable than before.
I don´t think any game accounts for dmg to armor. Not that i would know of anyways.
Well played!
The s tanks are fun tanks and can work well even with a more agressive play style thanks to the turbo we can now put in to massively increase the mobility in siege mode
one last video before bed, Cheers Jingles
My Obj 269 and 704 eats that series of TD's for breakfast if I can spot them.
the driver is the gunner , theen so can be the comander, bouthe can srive and ther is a rear facing radio op and revers driver , so in there he tank can be opparated by one person
I think the Cheiftan put it best. The reverse driver is just there to keep the other two crew from killing each other. Why they didn't just have a one man machine is beyond me.
@@emberfist8347 there sweds the less drunk drives lol
Actually, to overmatch, the gun caliber has to be greater than 3x the nominal armour thickness. So, to overmatch 30mm of armour you need a gun that is 91mm or larger. So, tanks with 90mm guns will not penetrate the S1. This is most beneficial for the T10 103B because all the german 150mm guns will auto-ricochet, but the russian 152mm guns and american 155mm guns will overmatch.
Damn I’m early today! Nothing like a jingles video to start the day!
Hey on the bright side the enemy team knew how to swarm him together this time
I had once battle in wows where I lost but I was 1st in my team and I had more base xp that best player from enemy winning team , I have send that battle to Jingles but I guess was not good enought to be on his channel :(
It is not a tank per says , it is more a turret on track.
Thanks Jingles
The driver is the gunner, the siege mode doesnt exist in the real thing. So you go smooth and fast from full speed to stoping and shooting. A S-tank at full speed could turn its gun 180 degrees in seconds. The commander has the same gun and driving controls as the driver-gunner, so with two spotter-driver-gunners and no seige mode in RL it was a fast OFFENSIVE deadly tank. The S-tanks massacred the Lepoard IIs(STRV 121s) in the last exercises with the S-tank. So the S-tank is by all means the most nerfed tank in the game, with no comparison.
that ending hurt
Jingles, please try the (free demo on Steam) of the game called = Chernobyl : Liquidator Simulator please!!!!! Attempt : Countless.
Does WoT PC have the cold war Era tank mode? If so that mode is a joke in its self
You actually need a caliber of 121mm or higher to overmatch a 40mm plate. 120mm is not enough.
WG and overmatch is a strange thing. As KV-2 can bounce on both Hellcats and BUGIs.....
Wow, there is no justice...
Yeah, it's the special hatred the devs have for light tanks that lost the match.
