For about 4 years i made music in Fruity edition. The moment I upgraded to producer edition was the moment i had significant improvement in workflow. And then i upgraded to Ableton 12 Suite and it works like a dream
i feel like your anti-harmor argument doesn't quite work tbh. you say sounddesign tools are only needed if one has already learned sounddesign. but how are you supposed to learn sounddesign without trying it yourself? the tools need to be there before you know how to use them, cause then you can use them to learn the craft. you could say like 'ok, what if you just learn sounddesign on a simpler synth first?' and I totally agree. That's why Synth1 is still my favorite synth. Even with lots of sounddesign knowledge I keep coming back to the roots. Because there is a lot of impact in the simple things. Vital could also be considered a simple synth. It is internally complex, but presents itself with a simple workflow. Harmor on the other hand is not only using a rare synthesis technique, additive synthesis, but also a really unusual and cluttered UI layout. I probably haven't even explored more than 5% of its features. But I'm ok with that. Making music is not a competition who knows the plugins the best after all and I just use the features I like, for example the perculiar image import feature, as it produces otherworldly sounds with ease. You also don't have to understand what the plugin is doing to use it. For example the prism section of the synth is great at creating somewhat inharmonic glassy sounds, but don't ask me what all those knobs actually do, because it doesn't matter anyway. Everyone could experience those parameters and learn how to use them intuitively
@@ADHDPlugins i get that. but i wanna encourage everyone to try harmor. that synth is truly insane. throw an image at it and it creates a sound you have never heard before without any additional parameters :) there's almost no way to make it bad
I just run the trial and put my PC in sleep rather than shutting it down when I need more than a day to finish something. Probably only really feasible for a beginner, but it works for me so far.
@@slimprinz My method would get fairly messy if you want to work on multiple projects parallel, but it's still kinda possible, since the limits on patterns, channels, instruments/plugins are a lot more generous than I require at least. Add whatever patterns and plugins you need and scroll past your initial song on the timeline and begin your new arrangement there. Automation can adjust otherwise project wide settings like BPM from what I can tell and if you keep your new space on the timeline selected then 'song'-playback-mode will only play your new song and even export can export a selection from the timeline. Mixing will also get messier, as you might want to route audio to a new separate pseudo-master channel before the actual master channel (the actual master shouldn't do anything with the sound unless you want to do it in the same way to both/all your current projects). This somewhat solves all the problems that I could think of, but as a beginner I might not be thinking about something important someone more experienced would bring up. I wouldn't exactly recommend it, but from my experience you can still get it to work if necessary. It definitely comes with extra effort and the more you leave unfished the more a PC crash would set you back, so that's also something to keep in mind.
I HAVE UPGRADED TO FINAL EDITIO FOR THE SOLE AND ONLY PURPOSE OF USING THE GOATED PLUG IN THAT HIS POIZONE AND HONESTLY I DONT REGRET MY BUYINGS CONSIDERING THAT ALL OF MY BEATS NOW (EVEN THO I HAVE STUFF LIKE SERUM) ARE ALL MADE WITH FL BASIC PLUG INS . ALSO COULD YOU DO A VIDEO TALKING ABOUT HOW TO DO GREAT BEATS EVEN IF YOUR BROKE (WITH FREE PLUG INS AND ALL OF THAT) I DONT KNOW IF THINK ITLL BE A GOOD IDEA
i was using producer edition for a couple years and i upgraded to signature edition cuz of the black friday sale. ngl most of the reason was just to not have grossbeat in trial mode anymore 😭
I started with Producer edition. I bought a separate plugin, then when I feel like I might want a couple more plugins, I decided it's better to straight up upgrade to All Plugins edition (the plugins I was looking for were not available on Signature edition as well). Then Kepler Exo happened, 50% sales on upgrade happened, so I went up to All Plugins from Producer like that. If I can go back to past, I would just wait until I want at least 2 plugins then I would upgrade straight to All Plugins.
V important request i'd give a ko-fi donation for beacuse it'd fit this format great: A very basic FL studio workflow Not a guide, not a tutorial, but rather how you're meant to create songs using the pattern system. There are plenty of excellent detailed tutorials but I still can't quite get to grips with it because i'm used to channel based like Studio One or Ableton. I find the FL system *potentially* very good to use because i adore a lot of it but i am stuck at the stumbling block of how i should aim to use the pattern system and swapping between them, I make a terrible mess fast and get put off. So it could be "Basic FL Flow" Edit: I also get confused by swapping between the menus, especially the wonderful piano roll. I want tha goddamn piano roll in everydaw, Studio One's is so awkward in comparison.
@ADHDPlugins excellent, I forgot to mention this could fit your format by only being particular steps of a workflow too! Also to note, your channel is a good companion to that other fl studio short videoguy whom I've forgotten thr name of but he makes his videos also in time to the musicb
I would check specifics on versions, I clicked on Sakura synth and hit more info it is only as a demo and no VST sold? yet they list it as an included synth which technically it is but yeah not really, bonkers
@@ADHDPlugins So I checked looks like that is a demo install as well so is Harmless and a bunch of others, glad I looked into this further that is really deceptive on their part if I am correct
thank you rutracker

as a growing youtuber I cannot support that

That's to say you wouldn't want to switch to another project unless you are done with the one at hand, right?
