Oi. It's common for Scottish people to deeye their cats. This happens in winter when stray cats like to hang out by the warmer roads in the evenings and cause meaningless accidents.
A "Cats Eyes Removed" sign on a road means it will be more difficult to see in the dark because new reflective road studs, also known as "cat's eyes", have not yet been replaced after road resurfacing
Scotland is one of the most favorite countries I’ve ever been to. The people are the kindest (although sometimes hard to understand) and the scenery every where you look is simply breathtaking. Oh and don’t forget the sheep lol IYKY
Putting all you people up in castles, hotel rooms, & feeding you all over in England/Scotland by Mercedes Benz's is no wonder their cars cost so much. That's why I do not own one. Plus I really do not like to watch golf. I do love to drive golf carts especially when the grass is wet. Such fun times with my Dad & the Zenith Electronics Golf Team. Thanks Larry (RIP) for letting me cut the wheel hard & do donuts on the course after it rained & sorry your very large cooler flew off the back seat of the cart & all your beer & ice went all over the golf course. Just you didn't think of that one & you called yourself an engineer. You can't blame me, I was only 8 years old @ the time & you got stuck with me as your driver. It scared me to death & I know I begged you all day to do that 360 turn... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the memories guys!
2:00 The cat's eye design originated in the UK in 1934 and is today used all over the world. The original form consisted of two pairs of retroreflectors set into a white rubber dome, mounted in a cast iron housing. This is the kind that marks the centre of the road, with one pair of cat's eyes showing in each direction. A single-ended form has become widely used in other colours at road margins and as lane dividers. Cat's eyes are particularly valuable in fog and are largely resistant to damage from snow ploughs. A key feature of the cat's eye is the flexible rubber dome which is occasionally deformed by the passage of traffic. A fixed rubber wiper cleans the surface of the reflectors as they sink below the surface of the road (the base tends to hold water after a shower of rain, making this process even more efficient). The rubber dome is protected from impact damage by metal "kerbs" - which also give tactile and audible feedback for wandering drivers.-source Wikipedia
1:57 Cats eye are the light reflectors which are placed on the road so that during the night time if there are no street lights they can act as a guide by reflecting the car headlights.
Cats eyes are the small little dots in the middle of the road markings, helping with reflectivity. They were probably removed after the road has been resurfaced and they didn’t replace the cats eyes.
The cats eyes are the reflective pads inbetween the white lines that divide lanes for roads without street lights at night… country sides don’t have many street lights
Mad to see a US Citizen visiting Scotland while I am in Scotland too for visiting from England. Welcome to our Country of the UK. Mostly only the Scottish will know what the signs mean. You should really see so much while you're here and speak with the locals as they are very friendly compared to England in the UK Drivers are more better as well in general. Don't forget the scottish notes as a thing to take back home with you.
The cats eyes are the reflectors in the breaks of the white lines. So the sign means they have removed the road reflectors that show you the middle of the road.
I live in Somerset and the cats eyes gets removed all the time. All it is is the little reflective tile things in the road that help you see where the lanes are at night. Huge fan btw, been around for a few years!
cats eyes are the lights on the floor of the road , usually seen In the middle of motorways. Very small and you can drive over them without breaking. The 2 bulbs in them are nicknamed "cats eyes" because in the dark that's what they look like
Cats eye removed on road signs means that the reflectors that are in the middle off the road has been removed mainly they do that when the road goes under maintenance 😂 cats eyes = Middle road reflectors in between line that goes in middle off road!
Cateyes are coloured reflectors on the boundaries of road, such as either side of a lane that indicate where the side of a lane is so you can see at night an if you drive on them they are raised so you will notice.
cats eyes are things in the roads that reflect of cars headlights when it is dark, so you can see which way the road follows when there is no street lighting
Hi Dan. I hope you can get that one cybertruck! I have seen 78 cybertrucks and I’m only 11yo!!!!! I think if you wrap your cybertruck, it should be wrapped blue and white and says “WHATS INSIDE FAMILY”. Anyways, hope you can get that cybertruck!
Cats eyes are devices for blind people to drive. As you go down the road, if you veer left or right out your lane, it starts going "bump bump bump bump" over the cats eyes and blind people know to move left or right to correct.
They told you to check out the pond, so you check out the pond…but when they tell you they offer complimentary massages you say no thanks….you need to get your priorities straight

Cats eyes are the lights in the floor along middle of roads, typically in countryside where there’s no street lights.
They are not really lights...they are reflective lenses...
@@pip5461also they r everywhere even on the motorway
@@egg_rl7118 Yep... they were invented by a guy on his way home from a pub... :)
If the cat was facing the other way he would have invented the pencil sharpener 😂
@@pip5461 They are not lenses, its retroreflectors
I'm glad you've had a memorable time here in the UK...
HAHAHA Lincoln! such a funny father / son interaction, " what are you filming?? "

They are recovering the road surface. The Cats Eyes removed is so that they don't interfere with the scraping and resurfacing machinery.

I couldn't find an answer (if there is one), Why did you stop making videos for "What's Inside?"
If I press 0 on my phone will they come make me cheesecake?
Cats eyes are reflectors built into the road to help in the dark and I guess in this case the resurfaced the road and removed them.
cat eyes are road reflections. They have been removed for renewal mazbe

Curious about the ring that you’re wearing what is that the fitness ring?

At this point Lincoln might be better than Rick! Big UP 😂!
Since Mercedes is paying, hopefully you say some kind words about their EVs. Rear wheel steering in MB EQ series is fabulous.
