I made a Doom Eternal MV for my media class

- I'd wanted to make this video for quite a while now, and a music video assignment in my media class gave me the perfect excuse. The concept was inspired by LilGarbage's "i made a DOOM Eternal trailer for my media class...":

When I first saw these, I quickly decided I wanted to make my own take on their great ideas to sharpen my editing skills, but to ensure I didn't subconsciously steal some of their ideas in terms of the actual video's content, (cutscenes, gameplay, and voice lines in the same place and such), I made sure to not watch either of their videos for over a year before making my version. Obviously, looking back at their videos now, they did a much better job than myself, but I'm pretty proud of what I have now. It's a little rough in some places, but I've never made one of these types of videos on such a tight deadline before. Rip and Tear.

Made a few music vids myself, but I used my own footage. Props to you for doing it using footage someone else recorded, that's a whole other level of challenge added on top!
(Late reply lol) The footage used here is a mix of trailer footage, and gameplay + cinematics recorded from my PS5, (notice the weapon wheel). I totally agree though, the use of back-to-back trailer footage in the first chorus was, in fact, quite lame. Part of the reason was a mix of poor time management and lack of creativity during that phase of the editing. If I were to do it again, (which I may someday), I'd really like to touch up certain elements of the video and definitely use 100% footage from my own gameplay. I'm left somewhat unsatisfied with the final result as it stands now. Thanks for the scathing comment, it really embodies how I've felt about this project since completion over a year ago. I won't make the same mistake moving forward 🫡
just got this recently recommended and i can safely say that it is the BEST trailer I've ever seen for a product. any product, not just videogames. it gave me actual chills. i absolutely love it.

This is very well done, it not only compliments the original music, but keeps the same theme... an electronic theme... If you've seen the GDC Mick done, you'd know what the music directors wanted the sound to be, and here it is still captured. Maybe not at the same intensity, but it still portrays the same sense of.. urgency, adrenaline that you get whilst playing this masterpiece.
