This is a great example of playing lyrical phrases musically rather than merely notes on a page. It’s emotionally evocative. Brilliant!
Eric Whitacre is a genius.
This is why God created brass ensembles.
God I love when the tubas come in
This always gives me goosebumps. My high school brass ensemble is going to play this in a few months and we are really looking forward to it! This piece has such beautiful melodies.
Thanks!
What a truly magnificent and mesmerizing rendition of this classic wind band setting. I truly loved it! WOW!’
And so does God want to blow His breath through us.We are His instruments.
7:29 To whoever was coughing, thank you for holding it to the very end...!!
This is actually so gorgeous
An eight-minute piece that felt like an entire lifetime of a journey. Really reminds me of the time my small ensemble played this exact arrangement. You guys are absolutely amazing.
3:40 just hits different ❤❤❤
This gorgeous arrangement of Eric Whitacre's Alleluia, by David J. Miller is sensitively performed by the Barclay Brass. Hats off, ladies and gentlemen!
Gorgeous! 💕
Gorgeous and rich.
October for band, Alleluia for chorus which this arrangement comes from. Thanks David Miller for clarifying.
In my personal opinion like the hallelujah arrangement over October but they're both so beautiful
tears in my eyes commenting this, absolutely beautiful!
Breathtaking
This is a fantastic group and this piece is beyond beautiful.
Many thanks!
One of the first things on my post pandemic bucket list is to get down from Boston to catch you folks live. You've kept me going during these dark days and weeks. And months. But hopefully not years.
Wow .....makes these brass instruments sound so subtle ..very well played ...really pulled it off
Thanks, David!
Amazing job by everyone, but wow, Amy McCabe surely did shine on this one.
Just sumptuous to the ears Whiteacre is a genius ...who's work is brought to life by top draw musicians!!!!!
I’m so thankful this exists 👏🏻
Just SUPERB!
Magnificent
0:42 is played so smoothly and soothingly by the brass 😍😍😍
Barclay Brass; you are an absolutely magnificent group of musicians. It's 1:20am in the morning and I am playing Whitacre's 'Alleluia through my system. The excellent level of artistry coupled with technical brilliance truly warmed every fiber of musical spirit in my body. The piece was truly melodic and warmly soothing to my ears. I will play this work over and over again and I can't wait to project this stellar piece through my car speakers as I'm moving down the road. Barclay Brass members; you and your brethren are a wonderful group and I feel that you truly are a gift to those of us that love and appreciate 'excellence' in the music that permeates every part of our world. The music is also harmonically superb. As they use to say in my church....'keep on keeping on'!!
Thank you for your kind words, Miles! Greetings from DC!
Greetings from NY. And a strong salute to our military forces!
A beautiful arrangement of a wonderful piece of music. Congratulations!
You guys have amazing tone. The trumpet at the beginning sounded like the oboe from the original
give me the brass everyday, thanks for loading this on here.
Absolutely wonderful
PROUD YSU Faculty Member: David Sisk, Trombone & Brett Miller, Horn
6:46 the only time I played this our conductor told us to Imagine slow-motion herds of Buffalo running.
HER-MO-SO!!!!!!!
This group kicks it, awesome.
This is excellent - arranging and performance are stellar!
Wonderful transcription and interpretation. I love it.
Happy October 1st
Sublime.....
Epic.
this sounds like october!!
Yes! "October" was the original name for the band version, and Eric Whitacre renamed it "Alleluia" when he rewrote it for chorus.
@@TheBarclayBrass ohhhh okkk
The chords at the end are so hard to play together, that was incredible
I wish I could help.
Too bad that the camera operator couldn't do a closeup on the euphonium and tuba players during their melodic parts of the composition.
Where can I get sheet music for this?

one dude who held his cough in the whole piece and died at the end.
